I found this really interesting last week when I saw it. Steve Thompson (the man who took part in designing the Designer Dolls as well as many other products for the Disney Store), posted these images on his individual blog, naming them 'Ariel Inspiration'. I was wondering about whether they were for the LE doll. Seems quite fascinating.

Looks promising! Might be different tints of greens and possibly some neat textures for the tail or dress.

I'm not sure if he has designed any of the LE dolls, but just the speculation and these images get me hopeful that we won't have the dress currently shown in the new look (hey I can dream). I'd love something original if not from the film, like a sequin pearlescent mermaid inspired gown with wave like ruffles, I have a DS Ariel that has shell patterns on her veil and gown..

Actually, that could be a possibility haha. Suppose we will find out soon. I guess the main thing with Ariel is the fact that she has so many looks, that it must have been really hard for Disney Store to choose only one. I just hope the doll they give us will be one that everyone will fall in love with.
 
I agree, I willing to forgive Disney for this abscence in dolls of it means that they spend a lot of time perfecting Ariel so that she is just as good, if not better than Snow White and Alice. Which I am pretty sure they will especially since Ariel is probably the most popular and favored of the princesses among those that are likely to buy the LE merchandise.

I completely agree. The dolls have been seriously lacking in the kind of detail that they used to have. The last really detailed one we got was Merida, but then they put out the 2 set that was utterly lacking in detail. I can definitely handle having less dolls released per year if it means we go back to the kind of detail that Snow White, Alice, and Tiana have. I for one feel like Tiana is one of the more under-appreciated 17" dolls. I don't really get it, as i think she's one of the most detailed and well done of the 17" collection.
 
I agree that I am loving this break we get from dolls LOL, as long as it means we get 1 or 2 very high quality detailed dolls per year :)

Selithiel, I completely agree that Tiana is a beautiful (but under appreciated) 17 inch doll! Her jewelry is stunning, and I feel like they really did a good job with the detail of the dress, the face, and the hair... I love her! :D I have yet to own one yet, but a lucky friend of mine does and she is her favourite! :)

I really really REALLY hope they pull something really nice out of their sleeve for Ariel and the supposed upcoming Jasmine next year :D

I have always felt that way about tiana , she really does have The most beautiful designe even her purple and white box suits her perfectly, but the rainbowy glittery train veil that she has... OMG, gorgeous.
 
Tiana's 17 inch doll is always cute but underrated like her desiggner doll. I called it the Ursula of the group since she had the bodice and they were similar. I also liked Belle's 17 inch doll as the hair was curled to perfection and the dress was superb. The Queen of Hearts is as well.
 
I got Tiana in store when she came out and the detail goes right down to the shoes! Those that dont open boxes wouldn't know :p

The Tiana doll is absolute perfection. I honestly have a feeling that this year will be awesome in LE dolls; I mean the highly anticipated Ariel of course and also the two main Frozen characters. Can't wait to see Anna's foreign princess look but also Elsa's absolutely beautiful and icy winter gown translated into doll form. Just so much to look forward to :hsd:
 
OH MY GOD! THESE RELEASE MONTHS SEEM SO FAR AWAY!!!!! I am loving all the design work that I am seeing for Elsa. We haven't even seen anything "official yet" and they are so pretty. And, (I know I said it in another thread, but still) the fact that Matell is making an Elsa doll too, it has me SO anticipating an LE 17" Elsa doll. I hope she is as deviously wicked and *cold* as she is beautiful because she'll have some major diva's to be placed next to on my shelf. ;D
 
Tiana is definitely one of my favourites, just amazing details, I couldn't put her down!

I know what you mean :lol: I had already expected their to be a pairing of Anna & Elsa for the 17" last year, it would be odd not to!
Hopefully we have no other 17" doll on the horizon until Ariel after last years onslaught (Rapunzel/Merida/Cinderella - not forgetting Designer Villains range released around the same time - Tremaine/Merida&Elinor/Sgt Calhoun) we need a much needed break! :rofl:

I don't think there will be much of a gap between Ariel & Frozen ... (also if there is another Designer range :rolleyes:) which may mean I need to think hard which ones I really want :sad:

RIGHT!? I mean, we have all of us here. Surely there has to be at least one of us good with sneaking in to the computers or lives of those with knowledge of the dolls. ;) We are all doll nerds, we need a doll nerd that's also a computer geek! ;)

I do agree that, while it would be more enjoyable for more releases now, it's still nicer on our wallets and hopefully will result in nicer quality.

AND!

Taking about quality and Tiana, can we just talk about those gloves for a second? They are the only piece of doll attire I can think of that actually has an ombre effect and are flawlessly done. If I collected princesses, she'd be my grail simply because of how detailed and perfect she is.

@Wazzy: Oh no Disney spotted the video and blocked it right away. If you can find another one please share the link with us :( I really want to see a Footage from Frozen, I want to see how the characters look like and stuff!
 
People REALLY want to pull out all the secrets of this movie don't they :) Remember the old days - when we had to wait for the movie to be released to actually see it lol I'm sure there will be 17" dolls of them, guess they will be out when the movie is released.
 
I really am loving all the (tiny little) bits I've been learning and seeing of Elsa. She's going to be so truly stunning! And, considering who she is voiced by...OH MY GOD! I know it's too soon...but...I'm pretty much going to list her as one of my favorites. :D
