That's right. They go live 12:00 Midnight Pacific standard time..so that would be 3:00 am Eastern time zone

Ok, I'm confused now. Are we sure it's the 15th now because a few pages back, it was looking more likely it was the 29th?

Argh. I just wish they would release the high res pictures and the date. This back and forth is so frustrating!

I am so confused! Lol. I wonder what date it really is? I don't think it would be today either, the tenth is an odd choice. But I'm tempted to stay up just in case!! O_O

I'm sure I read something on here back ages ago that it was going to be the 15th, then everyone else started changing their minds with dates, so I think the 15th is most likely. Near panicked when I thought I'd be at uni still when it's midnight in the US, but then remembered we're a day ahead so it'll be the 16th here -phew- . I hope everyone gets her who wants her and doesn't have to turn to ebay.

Its just so odd! My cast members have never been wrong about a day before, so it is strange they would say 29th. But it makes more sense for the doll to come with the DVD on the 15th! All I know for sure is I am going to be ready! Lol

Don't get confused, if the doll is in fact coming out on the 15th that means it should appear online after 12am on the morning of the 15th using PST that is going to be 5pm on the 15th here in AEST. In other words we are 17 hours ahead of PST.

10th does sound like an odd date, but it was the date originally given to me. And now, if what you all say is true about stores getting informed a week before the actual release, then how is it my local store got no news of it Monday? Happen to know Mondays are when they get debriefed for the week, so is it possible my local DS is just screwy? Ug Disney, not asking much, just give us a solid date please?

I really think that if it truly is next Monday, we should have some pictures or confirmation by this Friday. Other than the surprise releases that came out with the DVDs, I don't remember not having ANY idea it was coming out at least by the Friday prior to release. I'm going to be kind of suspicious if there's no official word by the end of the week.

Wish I could ask my lovely DS store workers for the date, but I have already been informed that my store is not getting any of the limited dolls coming out. Online is my only option

What if there is no pre order ? It's very odd to me that there isn't anything. If we didn't have that leaked picture I would of been very suspicious if there was even a LE for Ariel. Just a thought. This is so frustrating lol *head to desk * ill be up till midnight all those days regardless.

That's what the manager said at - for - MY local store. What I was told just coincides with what information nessamgm85 and ryn1690 were given. I asked about her on Saturday (the 6th), and was told that they find out about special releases a week prior; and IF they were given any news about the doll on Monday (the 8th) - that her release date is the 15th, then that is a weeks notice for my local store.

I'll be going back on Saturday, and if they don't have any information, then I'm calling the other 2 stores here (in WA)

But yeah...I don't understand why they can't just put a date out there. Dang, I would be happy if we at least got a confirmation of what MONTH she is supposed to be released in!

So for those who want to know: I emailed DS.com about when they actually bill you for pre-order dolls. They said not until they ship, but I DO BELIEVE that there will be a "pre-authorization" charge on your account that will then drop off in a few days, per what happened to folks from the Cinderella pre-order. Here is their response -

"We are delighted to have received your recent email and we appreciate
your interest in DisneyStore.com.

We don't bill our guest until the order ships.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions. We
look forward to future opportunities to be of service to you.

Sincerely,
Julisa

Have a Magical Day!

The DisneyStore.com Team"

I do agree, I think that there is a pre-authorisation on the card, like they hold the amount to ensure that a) the card is valid and b) that you have the ability to pay for the preorder. Either way if you are going to order the item it is only around $100 (if you get free shipping as well) so just make sure you have at least $100 on your credit card and you will be fine.

In terms of release dates I wonder if the 10th was the date that the store was to get the information in relation to the doll i.e the option to start taking pre-orders within their system getting them ready to start making sales for the 15th. The thing is the 15th was never also officially ever announced and I am not sure if there is a reason that date was chose, I think it was all based on speculation as well as Cinderella went up for preorder around this time last year. But I believe that the Cinderella doll did not get released for preorder until July 30 which is why I believe the 27th of July 2013 release of preorder is more likely. Also as mentioned by other members on the forum some new regarding the doll usually came out online be it a statement by Disney or a post on the Disney store facebook page. I remember in the past they gave you close up shots of the doll sort of like a teaser about a week or two before the doll was released and this was on the Disney Store facebook page.

The fact that there has been nothing yet is starting to make the 15th less likely as well but I am still hoping that maybe Disney is really trying to keep everything a secret and just shock us with the release. The problem is that compared to the last doll releases more people are now aware of this collection and I think Disney is aware of that and wants to keep the suspense building because that will just increase the hype and result in the doll being more coveted. If you noticed this year Disney has been very frugal in terms of doll releases and information on any doll releases, so it would not surprise me if they decided to change things up this year just to keep us on our toes and also to throw off those of us that are expecting and speculating about future releases.

I hate that Disney is being so frugal with info! It really messes up my doll buying, I like to know and plan ahead so I can be ready. It really makes me feel like they don't actually value the customer, and just want them to get stressed :anxious: so they buy stuff immediately upon seeing it without thinking :soapbox: . It is making me more interested in other doll lines to be honest, I am not enjoying collecting Disney right now, even though I love the products once (if I can) I get them home.

Aw scrap. l WILL still be at uni then - and won't be home for 4 hours! Ok now I'm hoping she's released another day Iol...or I'll have to enlist the help of some family member. Hopefully she doesn't sell out in less than an hour!!

I'm sure you should still be right as that is early morning in the US. In the past the princess dolls took a while to sell out but yeah with the increase in popularity of the line and the fact that Ariel is a favorite of many she may sell out faster but I doubt it would sell out within an hour of release. Also it usually comes out about 20-30 minutes of the hour so around 530 here in Aust so you should be right.

No it will be 8am on the 15th in the UK. Don't forget the website updates at 12am every Monday. I think people are just getting confused by midnight of the 15th. Ultimately if the doll is in fact going up for pre order on the 15th then it will become available from 12am (midnight) of the 15th PST. Ie the point in time where the day goes from the 14th to the 15th because the doll needs to be available on the 15th.

Oh right in past it has been on a Tuesday or is that just the UK site. Confused now. So I have a day off on Monday I should keep that and not change it to a Tuesday . Is that right?

People here are confusing themselves and others

So to summarise, expected dates for the DS US in store pre-order are from 15th July (TBC), you can go in store (those which are offering pre-order) and see the doll on display only. The doll is not expected to be released until October (estimated date - info to be confirmed by DS).

Online pre-order

You want to pre-order from DS.com? You can do a time conversion online for PST and your location UK time based on the date you need (send me a PM if you need further help with this).

In the past DS Europe have the doll go on sale on the actual release date (e.g. DS.com LE Cinderella pre-order was July, Europe order went live on actual release date of doll on Oct 2 - I ordered mine after 13:30pm UK time, they went on sale in the morning :lol.

Time zones change throughout the year so it is always best to check for each release date. Hope that helps

Time zones don't change throughout the year they remain the same, it is just that there is also daylight savings so that is what will cause the change. It is if your city takes on daylight savings or the city you want to know the time for use daylight savings. Time zones themselves remain the same and will not change.

But you are right it is easiest to just look it up on good as it can tell you the time in the country you want to know.

at the end if the day though it really is not that difficult and I have based all of this on the US Disney store as the UK one does not even do preorders. Ultimately all you need to know is if you want to preorder Ariel she is expected to come out for preorder on the US Disney store at 12am PST on the 15th of July which means that it will be 8am on the 15th of July in the UK and 5pm here in Australia.
