Definitely going to try my hand at getting this. I wonder how early I'll have to arrive to line up to be in the first 100? Probably no later than 8 for a 10am store opening. I'll also probably try going to a Disney store a little further out than the closest one to the parks.
 
AHHH okay! Good good! I was worried for a second that there was going to be photos leaked. But yes that is the pin & it is totally completely different from the already released Star Wars pins. Now remember this should be at all the Disney Stores, even at the outlets :D but just in case, call your local Disney Store to see if they're doing the May the 4th giveaway with the pins.

They specifically told us that the Outlets were not participating.

Mmm cause I know my outlet is doing it ... Cause we actually do have the pins at our Disney Store outlet. But I'll double make sure our store will do the giveaway. Plus we've been giving out the paper slips for the May 4th for the guests since like 2 weeks ago? But again I'll double check my outlet again.
 
I called my outlet and they said they were doing it as well. Double checked about the free pin giveaway and was told yes they are doing it.

Thanks for posting about this. My boys want to attend. How early do you suppose we ought to be there? We'll be going to either the outlet store in NH (we'll call first) or a regular mall store in the greater Boston area.
 
Show up at 8 am for a 10am store opening for 100 pins at each store? Good grief, I hope not. There's four stores in my area alone. I would be absolutely shocked if 400 people came out of the woodwork for these on a sunday morning.
 
Most mall stores don't open til 12 on Sundays. Of course, check your local store to be sure. I'm excited to take my boys to this. The whole event sounds like it will be fun! :)
 
Something to be aware of if you're heading to a mall: I don't know if this is true everywhere, but in New England many malls open early for those who want to exercise indoors. In some places, the "mall walkers" can make the circuit for hours before the individual mall stores open.

I called the local outlet store, and it turns out they're participating--even though the event isn't listed on the DS website and even the store's automated phone system said there were no events planned.

Hehehe, this made me laugh. I don't put ANYTHING past SoCal folks!!! I for one am super relieved that I can just casually drive down the hill to buy a pin instead of committing to an entire morning of driving to Anaheim or Hollywood!
 
My store opens at 11am, so if I'm able to go (no work or afternoon shift) I plan on being there at least an hour before it opens. Now I am not trying to hype this (because I hate hype and hypers. You know who you are :suspect:) but keep in mind that this is going to draw in not only the pin collectors but also the Star Wars collectors. I've seen this posted on many different Star Wars fan sites.
 
I have somehow convinced my boyfriend to go for me since I will be at Disneyland for the weekend. I told him to go at 9am for a 10am release. Hope he is able to get one!
 
Given the proximity to Disneyland, and the fact that pin collectors and Star Wars collectors will be looking for it, I think I will plan on getting there no later than 8ish.
