The area west of the WDI campus is commercial/industrial. There is street parking along Flower. The area east and south of WDI is more residential, so you will find some street parking. The WDI parking lot is used for the line to enter, so parking there will open up later in the morning. Bring your portable electronics, books & newspapers to read; lanyards and pin bags to pin trade, while you wait for your voucher number to be called.

I've never been to the event but since this is a first come first serve event with NO street parking (and they don't start letting people onto the campus until 8/9 am), I expect it'll be like the DSF releases of old times with campouts galore.

This is not true! There is street parking along Flower and later in the day you can park in the WDI lot. They give out vouchers at 7 am and let attendees into the commons area. The restrooms are open and the Starbucks is open. The commissary area is also open for indoor seating. The MoG store does not open until 8 am and they allow 25 people into the store about every 20 minutes by your voucher #. It goes very slow, because attendees are not only buying pins, but also Christmas shopping. There are many items that are unique to MoG. Their inventory is not entirely the same as the Disney Store or the Studio Store Burbank/Hollywood.

I can't imagine there are a ton of D23 gold and silver members that are willing to camp out for the night, though.

LOL - A lot of the DSF campers are also D23 charter gold and silver members. Since there is no pin release at the soda fountain and no new PTS/PTDs, there will be a looong line. I don't think that the two pin DLR gingerbread house releases and signing at 9 am is much competition to a ten pin Frozen release!

I guess California is in a rank of it's own... I had no idea. Well God speed to everyone.

I mean I understand the idea of limited edition pins, makes them special and what not, but if a theme is so popular why not just make larger editions or open editions? It just seems really crazy to me how ridiculous the price jumps on the secondary market and how impossible it is for most people to even attend these events to buy a pin first hand. Just my opinion, I'm sure I'm in the minority though. Plus it's nearly impossible to trade for any of these pins, or really any good pins!

I'm with you. I don't care about the edition size. If it's a pin I like then I want to get one and it could just be a rack pin and if it fits my theme it makes me happy.

That set is not really orginal at all. It lacks creativity. And olaf is again in the same old pause.

exactly! but they really do seem to make the limited editions cooler/better than the open editions. so then i want all these LE that are impossible to get without spending a fortune! And I don't see what Disney gets out of it. Like there are so many people that will want these frozen pins, the store/employees will have to put up with mayhem (from what i glean from other postings, these releases can be quite stressful for employees) and then people go and sell them for crazy amounts on ebay and stuff. Disney then doesn't see any of that additional profit. But if they made more of the pins they could then make more profit because obviously they would sell. I'm baffled by the logic. And sad that i cannot get so many of the pins that i truly would love to own one day. But i do wish everyone luck who is going to the event! i'd love to go to an event for the experience, meet other traders, etc. and obviously to snag a cool pin lol

What happened?

People starting to line up around 9-10pm in Downtown Disney. Security came and kicked everyone out of the property, they said that they will not acknowledge any line until 6am. Some how around 3 am a line was started forming outside of the Downtown Disney parking lot. More than 300 people were in line before 6am. At 6am security came out and escorted everyone in to Downtown Disney. It had to be one of the longest/craziest release I have ever been at.

They had 3 different liens that ended up at the entrance of the parking lot.

I can imagine the same outcome for this release.

I thought the DLR anna release went pretty smooth I arrived around 4am stould in one line with a friend and was able to get 4 pins without any drama at all!

The only way I can see the second page is to post a reply, then it loads the next page. All the other threads work. Weird. I'm planning to go, hopefully do some trading. Someone bring me a Halloween Vanellope from the DSF event. They're selling for $28-$32 but people keep asking for $40-$60 pins. So someone with some common sense please bring one! thanks!

I remember that night/day. UGH. There were 3 lines. One from the street outside DTD, one from the street outside Paradise Pier (also a public street) and one from under the Sorcerer's Hat (where hotel guests were directed to stand.) It was also the same day the PTN vinyls came out.

From D23 website - I hope it's ok to post this.

This was posted on the Facebook pinformation page. The pinformation page is not owned and operated by Disney or its employees.

With all this frozen craze people are getting out of hand; let's take a moment to understand the rules of MOG's D23 day. After all we don't want to lose this opportunity in the future. Also please share this to help spread the word.

You can start lining up promptly at 5PM the day before the event. (This is still an office of business and security will be patrolling the sidewalk to ask people to leave.)

You can not park in the WDI parking lots, but in the residential streets across the street.

You must have a active Gold or Silver D23 membership (Card), or Active Cast ID to enter the event.

Each membership and cast ID can bring in ONE and only ONE guest.

You can not line up by the gate you must stay on the side walk along the main street.

No glass containers are permitted in line.

Not tents (this is a city ordnance)
You may bring a chair and cooler but no heavy camping gear.

Mind that you are next to a residential area, and if these home owners complain the police have a right to disburst the line and ask everyone to leave. So onece more be respectful to the people that live in the ariea.

Nights at glendal are cold and people have frozen themselves to the point of medical attention in the past please dress appropriately and stay warm.

There are no public restrooms or restaurants be prepared to hold it in.

All chairs and items must be put away at 6:30 AM wristbands will be handed out in numerical order around 7AM, you must have your Active Cards or ID at this point to get a wristbands.

You will be let into the gate around 8AM once the store opens you will be called in blocks to buy the pins.

Absolutely no photography is permitted past the gates and on.

MOG has willingly opened its doors once more for an amazing day of holiday shopping, unfortunately with the greed and craze of Frozen this could turn into a disaster. Let's all be responsible respectful adults.

I've been reading up on Facebook about this release. WOW! People are full of contradicting information (some people have posted that if you line up before 6 am Disney Security will kick you off the street) <--not sure how they can do that if it's not their property.
