When might we see something about this event in Magic Kingdom and where can I purchase advance tickets, I did before but can't remember where I got them

whats the deal with that ? do you just walk around and trick or treat ? is the park closed to everyone who doesnt buy tickets ? if so does this mean i cant go to the park on these days even though i have a premium passport ?
 
the park is open til about 7pm then it is open only for those that purchase a special ticket to get in it is a wrist band, and yes you get to Trick or Treat with a bag they give you, there are fireworks, special parade and special pins you can purcasae at that event, you can even dress up it is a Blast

The park closes early on the days they hold this event.
After the park closes, the cast members come out in themed attire. Some characters are in costume too.
You get to ride the rides with minimal wait, as well as trick or treat in the park. They have a special halloween shows and fireworks.

I'm not sure if its the same thing in DLR but thats the way it is in WDW.

Its ALOT of fun.


You can wear a costume too!
 
We have done the party twice and the Happiest Haunts Tour as well. Both are great...it is hands down my favorite time at the park.
 
Love the halloween parties have done both WDW & DLR, it is such a fun time in the park, the parade is great (especially the one in WDW, they have the headless horseman starts the parade, and it is the most spectacular part of the whole halloween party for me) all the villians are out, DLR has some great live scarecrows that are just hillarious, also the halloween pins for the party are usually always very nice, I will be going to DLR this year for the halloween party, hopefully they will get more than 1 halloween party pin this year since they have had awhile now to plan it out.
 
My family has gone twice. There is a great parade lead by a real headless horseman, a villians show at the palace, lots of character meet and greets. It is great fun. You get to be a kid again and go trick-or-treating for great candy (and you get handfulls.) The bag they give you is way to small so you might want to bring extra. They limit the number of tickets for each night so the park is not overly crowded. Oh and the rides are open too but who wants to go on rides when there is so much to do and see.

Here were are at the Haunted Mansion in 2010 dressed as Alice in Wonderland themed costumes.
 


Loved the Halloween Party in 2009! My wife and I went as Mrs. Peacock and Professor Plum, our friends went as Phantom and Christine. My favorite part of the parade was the undertaker ghouls performing synchronized shovel swinging and banging. I don't even know what to call it, but it was cool.

Those family themed costumes are too cute!
 
I missed last year because my Dad passed away two weeks before I was to go. But I'm going this year and I'm returning to MVMCP. The Christmas Party was so much FUN I didn't want to go back to the room. We were part of the last wave to leave since I couldn't pull myself away. I have my costume for Halloween (Alice of course). I didn't get to wear it last year, but this year I'm going!
 
not sure, they have not even showed the LE for this event at the PTN yet. i a going to the first Mickey's not so scary halloween party which is a tuesday, if they happen to not have release pics on what pins are the ones release, i will take pics and post them up.
 
I will be wearing my daughter's stitch ears, my husband, welllll not sure yet what he wants to do, the stitch ears were a big hit the last time ,did not see anyone with those.
 
It is great fun, this year my daughters and I will all be BELLES!!!! Library Belle, Christmas Belle and Gold Belle of course =) I go every year I agree the guys with the shovels and the headless horseman are AWESOME!!!!!!!! Now if I could just find a beast costume for my grump... I personally love the Cinderella carriage picture and I'm not even a Cinderella fan...
 
We are going on Sept 27th I called and purchased our tix 3 days ago. I can't wait

We used to love meeting princesses AND princes in the Toontown, I don't know where they will be this year.

Once we got to meet Snow White and all the 7 dwarfs, we were so happy about that. Cinderella's carriage is well appreciated too.

They call them the grave diggers and they are my most favorite part of the parade too. Some times we even watch that part of the first parade and then just watch the whole second parade. Usually we don't watch the first parade at all cause that's when all the little ones are watching.
 
Based on all the rave reviews I am hearing it is tempting to go again. Here was my experience the one time we went a couple of years ago.

The park "closed" but cast members didn't shoo anyone out or check wristbands so the park was still very busy.
There were long lines for trick or treating and every single station was either out of candy or was handing out 1-2 very small pieces because they were continually running out. What we got was mostly stale anyway.
Almost all of the good rides in the MK were closed for the event. No Space Mountain, no Splash Moutain, no Big Thunder. I think the HM was having repeated issues. Pirates was running but how many times can you do that? Everything else (Buzz) had long lines.
Then, to add insult to injury, it poured rain in buckets for about 90 minutes. There was standing water in Tomorrowland.

We finally went back to our hotel. We were frustrated, tired and soaked. And my son got about 25 pieces of stale candy. Not a great experience and a terrible value. Yet everyone else swears to me it's always a great experience and nothing like we found.
 

Yeah, that's...strange. Except for the rain, I've experienced NONE of that. Besides the fun of the costumes and decorations, there's reason after reason to go. No heat, no lines, no crowds, and everyone's in a better mood because there's no heat, lines, or crowds (heh). It's also my favorite fireworks and parade.

So yeah, you definitely had a weird experience. We've never had a problem with ride closures, either, although they do close down some of the restaurants.
 
We LOVE the Halloween parties. They are tons of fun! We have been 3 times and each time has been a blast... well one got rained out but they refunded our money when that happened and we still got to stay at the park and do/see as much as possible since they were giving that option. Most people left so it was really empty and at about 10:30 they decided to do Hallowishes. That was REALLY cool to be right there watching them on an almost empty Main St. The parade, music, Hallowishes, ToT'ing, photo ops, lit up Main St, face painting, etc. just makes it such a great night. Honestly it is a great deal when you don't already have a park ticket for that day since you can get in as early as 4pm and stay until after midnight enjoying the special event stuff.

Another cool thing about the party is it seems to be the only chance you have to see all the dwarfs together.

This was always one of my favorite shots. I loved seeing Main St like this!
