Hi all :)

I've noticed this week when making my signature (excuse the crummy paint skills I possess please!) that my collection really is all over the place. There isn't a theme to the entire thing, I collect individual characters or individual pins of them but I don't collect every pin of that character.

I see most people have very set characters or movies or themes that they collect so I wondered which you do?

Do you have an organised collection of only certain things or do you have a complete mishmosh of anything that takes your fancy?
 
I collect very specific things. I only collect things I like and then pins in those themes that i like. I mostly only collect critters, but I occasionally see a pin that I just can't resist, just for a few examples, I own a couple of pirate pins and some Kim possible and just one or two Disney afternoon pins, that I don't collect but I jus wanted when I saw them.

I love to concentrate on themes, it keeps me focused and stops me spending too much moolah!
 
I have so many specific things that I want to collect that it turns back into a general mishmash of anything that takes my fancy.
 
Mine started as just whatever I liked or caught my eye. Over time it's kind of evolved into specific things. I still have a lot of mish-mash though. I have boards for specific collections and then I have one that's just everything else!
 
Mine is very similar to yours, actually. I'm all over the place. Part of that is because my son and my husband are working on building their collections, too, but part of it is because I just see something that I like. I do have themes that I tend to prefer over others but for the most part I'm all over the place. A lot of that is probably because I'm still new to this, and I imagine that in the future as more pins on my wish list are found, I'll probably start scaling things back and focusing more. But for right now, having a mish-mash collection works just fine for me. So if you're happy with the pins you have, whether they fit into a theme or not, then I wouldn't change anything.

I would call my collection a organised mishmosh. I prefer pins from my favortie atrractions/rides and events pins that catch my eye and I've recently have been trying to collect DSF Marquee pins. I've also wanted to a few WDW, DLRP, D23, and WDI pins to say I have a pins from other collections too.

I will stay away from character pins in order to keep the collection small and simple. I think if I picked even just one character, I would either have a lot of pins or be frustrated that they didn't make enough of who I collected.
 
Im very strict on what I collect and keep my mind focused on gaining what I am collecting at that moment in time. I only collect UP, Stitch (stitch dressed as, stitch invasion, st patricks day) and PTN pins from Paris. Other than that Im pretty limited on what I go after. I only habe one pin that doesnt fit in to my collections which is the Partly Cloudy pin but I got it since it was the short before UP and I loved it. Other than that pin I dont have any extra pins in my collection.

I wouldnt be down to a wants list of 4 (well I will be when I recieve the PTN pins and stitch tron) if I was all over the place :P
 
Great to see that I'm not the only one with a total random bunch of pins! But also nice to see that people are so determined to get a select few themes that they acquire remarkable collections. Love hearing that even those with specific wants still go for the odd super nice pin now and then :)
I'm in love with all things cute and adorable, also pins that have great memories to me. But I do have to admit, occasionally a scary Phantom Manor pin or rough looking pin that takes my eye too! I am a Star Wars girl too so they are far from my cute theme!

Thank you! I LOVE that scene and it just seemed like a great image to go with my wants :) A lot of people have Tangled and Little Mermaid so I went for another one of my loves :D
 
I'm pretty limited... I ONLY collect the little mermaid and only pins I like(If I collected all then i'd be broke but I have expensive taste you might say so... ) I have no problem with a mish mosh collection and I think there great! It just does'nt work for me :/ oh and the sig is awesome... can't figuire out how 2 make one lol

As I am sure most people on here know, I collect specifically Jessica Rabbit/WFRR? and a few NBC that I think are AWESOME! I will get the occasional odd ball pin that doesn't fit in my collection(when I have the means) but it has to be a SPECTACULAR pin if it is not from my specifics! When I am able to get trader pins finally though, I will get anything I think I can trade, no themes! LOL! Someday!

I agree, the sig is GREAT, and I can not figure out how to make one either, but really would love to have one!
 
All over the place, I guess :P I have specific parts for Stitch and Lion King, but everything else is all mixed together, just pins that I really like :)
 
A little all over the place? I mainly collect aladdin and that's what I go after, but I also like Jessica, Kingdom Hearts, the Aristocats, Treasure Planet (jim only), Tangled, and Goofy. Goofy is one I try to limit myself on, the most, since everyone wants to get rid of their Goofy pins... and there are A LOT of pins!
 
I've been collecting pins for a while, and I've accumulated pins from pretty much every film bar a few. However I am trying to limit my pins into specific characters and films that I like the most and have a bit of a hierarchy of those. Villains, princesses and heroes are my top wants but I also get lots of other things like Jessica, random films I like (Mary Poppins, Emperor's New Groove, Fox and the Hound as just a few examples) and Star Wars. If anything, I'm more limited in what I don't get in Winnie the Pooh, a few of the animal centered films and The Lion King (though I'll probably get pins of Scar if they are really nice). Besides them I pretty much get anything.

I'm now recently getting mine organized... kinda. At first I was planning on collecting any Haunted Mansion pins but have found out that it would be crazy as I also collect a few other themes. So I'm now only collecting Hitchhiking Ghosts where the Mansion is concerned (apart from some sets and Vinylmation Mansion pins)... but it is my main collection. I also collect Phantom Manor, but as there arn't too many pins for it I just collect any pins from that ride. I'm hoping to start collecting Thunder Mountain. Character wise I also collect the Caterpillar from AiW, Ludwig Von Drake and Jose Caricoa.

But the Hitchhikers are my main focus; I love them. Especially Ezra. <3

I do sometimes randomly have pins that arn't part of the collection but I want to keep them anyhow. :)
 
Mines a little all over the place :)
My most pins are of Stitch, as a few years ago that was my main theme. Got a small collection of Chip and Dale and also of Little Green Men.
But now, im not so specific in what I look for. I'll grab abit of anything. There are some stuff that I wouldnt get...but I dont really keep to a theme or just one certain character. I couldnt do that I get distracted too easy lol
