I got some of the Disney pin album pages. They are like a plastic sheet coated with the fuzzy fabric...velour I guess. It is really hard to push pins through those pages. I ended up getting my middle finger. OUCH! More than an hour later my finger is still throbbing! As a newbie, I'm sure this won't be the last time I do this. Grrr....LOL!

Ooh, I stabbed myself in the finger pretty bad for the first time the other day!

Considering I've been trading for six months now, I was really surprised it was the first time.

Hurts like heck, don't it?

I second the pin trading thimbles idea!

It's seems no matter how many times that post goes through my finger - it always seems worst than the last time! It actually really hurts. Most people just shrug it off like it doesn't hurt... but come on! It's a metal post going through your flesh. Give us some credit now. Sheesh!

I thought I was the only one like a silly newbie! Is there a better way to post pins that aren't so hard like a different material? Its so hard to take the pins out too and I feel like I'm breaking the back of the post when taking it out! Help please!!!

When I put pins on a pin bag page, I try to feel where the post is before I push it all the way through, then kinda position my index & middle finger on either side of the post "bump" where it's about to poke through and gently from the other side, push the front of the pin all the way through with my thumb. It usually works pretty good! I've rarely poked myself.

My poor fingers... I have jabbed the pad of my fingers before, many many times. But the worst, tha absolute worst is when you jab under your nail with a pin. OW!!!!!!!!

Even better is that you can see how deep you jabbed because of the fingernail! I got my thumb under the nail once so bad the entire post went in. My thumb hurt for 2 weeks!!!!! I could see the entire post line.

My 3 yr old, bless her heart, has NEVER jabbed herself with her pins. But she has corplas in her book so she never has to try and put mickey backs on the posts, which seems to be when people jab fingers the most.
