Need advice about these pins

Hello I'm new to pin trading I have only been collecting since February and just started collecting stitch . I met this lady that purchased a huge collection of pins 2000 plus I asked her if she had stitch and Jessica's which she does so she has been sending me pictures of stitch pins but I need help knowing which ones are rare or hard to find if there's any. Theres more pins at her shop so this is the only stitch pins that she can send me pictures of right now ...I know I like a lot of them but I want to buy the hard to get ones. So if you can help me out that would be awesome. Thx

I don't see anything there that is super rare (that I know of). But I'd get the Rodger Rabbit rack pins depending on the price (weasels, Bennie, baby Herman). I'd be interested in trading for those. They aren't ultra rare but aren't easy to find because they are older.

I can't say with 100% certainity, but Stitch pins dressed as/with other characters always seem to be popular. I don't know about value (only that I payed about £8 recently for the Stitch dressed as Quasimodo), but I would have thought they'd be relatively good to trade with. And I would also reiterate that old rack pins seem to be good buys if ebay is anything to go on.

My advice is simple. Buy what you like and what really appeals to you. This way you will always have pins in your collection that you like. That's easy for me. Anything with Donald has to be good. But seriously, I would not buy a pin just because it is a good deal or whatever.

The only reason to check value is to make sure you're not paying way to much.

Now, if you are looking for traders, that is another matter and can get complex. Sometimes things are hot for a short time and then fade so judging value can be a challenge. I purchase traders by looks and appeal mostly. It works most of the time. Of course, I purchase pretty much all my pins at Disney directly so no bargains.

I know this seems like a silly/obvious question, but... have you found www.pinpics.com yet?

It is a database that has an entire webpage dedicated every Disney pin that we know of in existence.

Each page includes a picture and description of the pin, and gives information such as release date and place, how much it originally cost, and how many of them were made (this is called the "edition size").

But perhaps most importantly, since the database is used for trading pins, each page lists how many people have the pin available to trade, and how many people want to trade to get that pin. This is what we call the trades/wants ratio, which tells us whether or not a pin is highly sought-after.


Here's what you do, once you get on www.pinpics.com. Click "search" on the left-hand side of the page, then since you don't know the pinpics number for these pins, just click "continue" at the bottom of the page. Then in the box at the bottom of the page, type in a short description of the pin. For example, if I was searching for that Stitch St. Patricks Day pin, I would just type "Stitch Patrick". This would lead me to every pin that has the word Stitch and the word Patrick in the description, so all of the Stitch St. Patricks Day pins would pop up.

Now, when you first search for a pin, it usually will just list the results with no pictures. If this happens to you, click on the icon at the top of the results that has little squares (it looks like a rubics cube). This will make it show pictures of the pins. Then you would click on the picture of the pin in your woman-friend's picture. This will take you to that pin's webpage, where you will find all of the information for that pin that I listed above.
