Just curios what you think about the new Princess design (Belle, Cinderella....). I don´t knew for sure but i think the new design comes up since the New Fantasyland open? I´m a huge BATB/ BElle fan but unfortunatelly i hate the new Belle.
I ask me why did they do it? The old Belle looks waaaaays better :-D

I agree with you, most of the new designs are horrible. I actually think the Belle one is ok, but most of them are really bad.

i HATE the new designs. they've turned the princesses into something that seems almost robotic and weird- I feel like the new designs got rid of the fun quirks and uniqueness of the originals.

My only critique for the new character design is that they remind of Japanese Manga/Animation, almost all of them have the exact same face. I recall them seeing the revamp in stores around the time of the Cinderella Diamond Edition release...

I guess I am all by myself, I actually like them. :anxious:

I like them too

I like the old designs but I feel the princesses look more realistic now then they did before and I think they're prettier now! They look more modern and I love cinderellas new hair and belles!

The only ones I don't like are aurora and Mulan!

They kind of remind me of Heidi Montag (sp??). Her face was just fine and very pretty before the plastic surgery, and now... She still looks pretty but it just feels like she doesn't exactly look 'right'. I mean, if the princesses all had to go under the knife to be presentable, shouldn't all teenage girls consider plastic surgery???

I don't know if I like them better or worse than the originals. Not sure why they (the creators/re-designers) felt the need to change Snow White's bow to the side instead of the middle, or why they wanted to add more and more sparkles/glitter.

I think there's a much older thread on this topic.

Rapunzel and Tiana look very much the same to me, probably because they're the most modern characters, so Disney didn't feel the need to change much. I guess I'm in the minority because I think both Cinderella and Snow White look really cute. (I wouldn't say I prefer these new looks to their old looks, but it's a cute take on their characters.)

However, I despise the way Pocahontas and Mulan look in this line-up. They are both supposed to be free-spirited, tomboyish characters, which is AWESOME, but Disney loaded them with so much makeup and glitter that they look like Vegas showgirls or something... Ugh. Just, no. NO. No, no, no.

I'm not a fan myself... This is still one of my favorite things regarding the princess line:

I don't like it and I especially hate the design of Mulan and Pocahontas. They make them seem like a fairy princess that's afraid to chip a nail while they're quite the opposite. They're not their own anymore, they're just another princess with a glittery dress and some fancy accessories. And I don't know why, but Rapunzel seems out of place. I always thought her anatomy was off.

I think Cinderella is the worst. The original is classy and chic, the new one has that slobby hair. And the way she is standing is more like an indifferent schoolgirl (leaning backwards) instead of a classy princess.
