Hey guys!!!

It's been awhile, but I am back in full pin mode!

So I have an odd request...

As some of you know, my hubby (Tim) is completely blind... but he wasn't born that way. He has a degenerative, genetic disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa which took his eyesight at age 16. I love him more than every breath in my lungs... so I wanted to do something cool for him for Christmas.

The first movie Tim ever saw was Star Wars... he was 3 and he remembers every detail. He became obsessed and collected everything he could get his hands on. The original trilogy mean so much to him because he got to SEE them.

This brings me to my requests.

First of all, I am looking for the Star Wars Emblem Mini Pin Set (PP#77127). When I first told him about these, he was ecstatic and wanted them badly, but we didn't have the money at the time... he has since forgotten them (I think). Now that I have shopping money for Christmas, I want to buy him this set. He will be able to feel all of the lines/facets/grooves of the pins, and he'd love them.

Secondly, if there are any other Star Wars (or Winnie the Pooh -- his fav. character) pins that are very texturally detailed, please let me know and I will see if he'd like them. Who knows... maybe there's a Braille pin somewhere?

If you guys could help me find these things, his Christmas would be that much better!

Please let me know, either by posting here or sending a PM.

Thanks and huggles!!!

That is a beautiful request. I can't help you unfortunately. I don't have any pin that would be suitable. for braille like pin, with good texture or shape. probably a simple shape or something with a lot of pin-on-pin elements. like this castle pin. (there is a full series of all castles), it's made of 4 layers. (just an idea)

or prehaps a BT pin ? per example the Melody time/Once upon a wintertime, has Jenny en Joe as pin-on-pin layer. You can feel the outline of the top layer. But I'm not sure there's a movie that would suit for your husband.

Goodluck with your quest !

Hey there! Welcome back!

There's 3 new Star Wars pins that are very detailed and he would be able to feel the sculpture on them!
Pin 101729: Star Wars Helmet Series - Darth Vader
Pin 101728: Star Wars Helmet Series - Stormtrooper
Pin 101727: Star Wars Helmet Series - Boba Fett

And also if i remeber correctly this series (6 pins) have alot of texture to them too:
Pin 100220: Disney Store - Star Wars Pin Collection Series 1 - Darth Vader Only

These ones
ARE sculpted reliefs for sure

It looks like some of the pins from Star Wars Weekends 2001 have 3-D details.

PinPics numbers: 5003, 5004, 5055, 5056, 5112, 5113, 5201, 5202. I glanced at eBay and it seems like they're not too hard to get or too expensive (bids starting at $4.99 and But It Now for $15-$25).

I'll keep an eye out for any others!

I will have a look if I have any Winnie the Pooh pins, I do know I don't have any Star Wars.
My grandma also has retinitis pegmentosa and all her sisters have it too, she is also completely blind

So far I've had good luck!!! I really appreciate all your help guys!!! Allie, I'll be getting back to your pm sometime today. Carissa, thanks for the info... do you have any of the relief pins?

He also mentioned (coincidentally) that he wanted the Star Wars Experience Figures... no idea what those are (or how much they cost) but I'm headed over to "That Auction Site" to see if I can find them...

If anyone has those, let me know... or if you know anyone that has them, send them my way!!!

Thanks again guys, and I'll update you all on my progress soon!

What a great idea! Glad to see you are having so much success finding pins that will work

Unfortuneately no ):

The only things we have Star-Warsy is a set of the original figures in a Darth Vader helmet case xD
