Did anyone else notice that the Piece of History pin series will continue at DLR in 2014 and that WDW will also be getting their own series?

And did anyone else notice that the edition size for DLR will jump from LE1000 to LE1500?? But worse than that, the POH series for WDW will be LE2500!
Wow. That's a lot.

HERE are the two pins being released in February. No mention of a release for January yet.

a couple days ago, the descrip for the splash mountain one said January.. even though it was under February's release list.

I am wondering if perhaps they have yet to decide if it will be jan or feb.

You forgot the most important thing... The WDW price is $19.95! The edition size for WDW matches the edition size of the first two series, and is less than the 3500 they increased it to for the 3rd.

WTF??? I didn't even notice that $19.95 price. That has to be a mistake, right? C'mon... that's ridiculous. The edition sizes go up and the prices go up... that's just great.

That spalsh mountain pin looks great, wish I had a SplashMountain pin. The DLR is 15,95 en WDW 19,95 ??? That's ridiculous. Unfortunately I ain't going to the US next year so I wont be able to get any US pins.

That is number of boxes - so 20400 total pins released. 10 pins in the set and likely 2 chasers at LE 200

so each of the 10 pins would end up being 2000 each and the chasers 200 each if that is the edition size/number of the chasers.

Makes sense :) I thought they meant for each pin but the amount of boxes makes more sense :)

Orrrr,

It could be 10 LE 1000 pins with 2 LE 100 chasers. The number doesn't necessarily mean the number of boxes.

Personally I don't think the $19.95 price point is an error, nor increasing the edition size a mistake.

These pins are typically in high demand. Why should Disney just let the secondary market be the ones to cash in, when they can get some of that money up front. As for the larger edition size, perhaps that will help deter some of the more aggressive speculators from trying to buy them all or a substantial percentage of the pins before general pin fans have a chance to obtain one of them.

While they may last a little longer on the store racks, I am willing to be that if they have any type of decent design, the pin will still sell out.

i would agree J. But the PoH series for DLR is only listed at $15.95. why would the WDW PoH be listed at $19.95? THAT does not make sense. I think the price will go to $15.95....

which is a price increase BTW folks. Looking back at this years PoH... they are listed at $12.95. so $15.95 is a $3.00 increase PLUS the extra 500 edition size.

POH edition sizes are crazy. DLR started with 1000 and it got nuts. Then they went to 2000 and had to ship them to the outlet stores. This year it's back to 1000 but it doesn't seem to be that popular. What will happen at 1500?

And wasn't the third year at WDW Editions of 3500?

no, you are not the only one. I do not. But because I go to dlr to pick up for people I can tell you that in the last year or so, I have picked up for more than one collector who wanted a keeper.

the series is HUGE, and i bet a complete collection of all of them from the beginning is spectacular to see.

STILL no date changes for the FEB release or a Jan pin. :(

A SPECTROMAGIC PIECE OF HISTORY PIN? OMG, I've died and gone to heaven. And it's the original Spectroman, not the horrific makeup face version.
Cannot.wait. :anxious::anxious::anxious:
Of course this just reminds me we'll never see the parade again :ugh:

That guy on the SpectroMagic pin is ugly!

*sorry if I offend anyone by saying that, but I still think it's ugly* *cringe*

My daughter would so agree with you!! She hated the SpectroMagic parade because of them. She said they were the most un-Disney character she has ever seen, and still hates them to this day.

Hope that $19.95 price is a typo...I won't be picking any up this year if that will be the going price.

Am I the only one that collects and loves these pins?

Nope! I collect them too! I'm still working on the 2009 set, and I have all but one of the 2010 set (missing Rivers of America- yes, I know why it's so hard to find haha!). But I got the complete 2013 set, and I plan on getting all of this set too. I have a couple of extra traders from this year's set, so hopefully I can use them to trade for a couple of the new ones coming out since I won't be back at DLR until March!
