So... In the past three weeks, I have been a wee bit manic.

And somehow I ended up zapping 13 people!

(So far.)


I actually have three more packages sitting on my desk right now,
waiting to go to the post office!

Why am I doing this?

Most of the pins on my wants list these days are kind of HTF,
and I've had trouble making trades...

But I do miss sending out snail mail,
so I decided a few weeks ago to zap a few of my favorite forum members.

If you haven't received a zap from me, please don't take offense!
It doesn't mean that you're not one of my favorite people.
It just means that there are SO many deserving people on this forum,
and I could only afford to send zaps to some of you.

There was one time I even went to the post office and had to walk out with half my packages still in my arms,
because I didn't have nearly enough money for postage in my bank account.

It took me another week to earn enough money to send the rest!

Anyway...

After months of being in a "pin rut", where I made almost no trades,
and didn't receive any pins in the mail except the ones I bought on eBay...

Things turned around for me.

Oddly enough, this started to happen right about the time I started sending out zaps.

I managed to add all these keepers to my collection in the past week
(with the exception of the Cinderella Kiss, which I traded for in May) -

Some were trades; and some I managed to buy for a super reasonable price.

The Little Mermaid Kiss pin?! $10 from a guy on Craigslist. WHAT?! :wat:

And the Princess Minnie pin... I found it on a cast member lanyard! :hsd:

Anyway, I just wanted to show off my new pretties,
and I had to share with you all that pin karma is apparently real!

It worked for me, at least. :)

P.S. Most of the people I zapped are members on this forum, but a few people weren't. Here are their stories!

- At Disneyland, this past Thursday, I overheard a nice family telling a cast member that they had been searching for the Designer Princess shoes for their entire trip, but were still missing Ariel and Jasmine. I took out my little book of traders and zapped them with the last two they needed.

- Last week, I happened upon a comment on Instagram from a woman who wrote that she lost her lanyard at Disneyland. It was turned in later that day at the Lost & Found... but of course, all her pins were missing! I asked for her snail mail address and sent her a handful of villain pins to restart her collection. (She collected villains.)

- I also sent an unopened booster set of Winnie the Pooh "cutie" pins to my little cousin in New Mexico, who just started collecting pins, and loves Winnie the Pooh. (BTW - THANK YOU, Jadestarr, for selling booster sets I can afford!)

P.S. Kiras_Grandmother... I'd be happy to show you how to add animated pictures (they're called "gifs") to your posts - It's easy when you know how!

You just need to upload the pictures you want to use to a free website like Photobucket first. :) Let me know if you want more details!
 
Congrats on getting your grails and creating good pin karma. You certainly deserve all the good things coming your way!
 
I love it when this is what pin trading becomes. I hate it when it's all elitist and unfriendly. Thank you for the reminder that giving can be it's own reward.
 
Oh, I just found this post. I am a huge believer in pin karma. Which is why I zap so many. I have to stay on the positive side. Since I have been zapping people this last year we have received so many pins I never thought I would ever see. It is truly amazing at the good that come to you when you do good!!! Plus you meet lots of really nice people!!!
 
How fabulous! I'm glad you got your grails. Also, how kind of you to spread that Disney magic! I myself 'zapped' a few people on my recent trip to Disney. It was such a awesome feeling to see them so happy. Thought recently I got zapped with a scrapper, so I don't know much about how Pin karma works but.....anyway! I am very happy for you! :)
