PIN & POP PIN & POP Site Announcements & Ideas

I'm brand new to Trade Arcade last month (spent money on tokens and shipping to the required address). My pins were all verified, but are stuck in limbo of either "shipping" or "processing." There is no way to converse on the Pin & Pop website and no email available to address this with the mods there so I had to join this other website to try to get an answer. I see great pins for this month, but I am VERY leery of spending another $50 on nothing. Can someone explain if it is normal to take so long to get the pins that I paid to trade?

that's going to happen. The team is dealing with thousands of pins. So it is normal to take 6-8 weeks to turn around.
There is an email address to contact you can either hit info@pinandpop.com or email Jenn at Jenn@pinandpop.com

You're hardly spending $50 on 'nothing', just need to pack your patience.

I think it is pretty normal to not get them before the next pin event. My pins from the April event haven’t shipped yet (One processing and the rest in a shipping state at this point). None of my pins from the May event have moved out of the processing status. I have seen it where some members on here get a partial shipment on pins when they have some taking longer to process, but I usually only make 5 to 10 trades during an event so mine always come when all the pins are in a shipping state.

Patience packed Thanks for the help!

Yes, this is normal. In June, they moved operations from their home into an actual business location. This led to longer delays in reviewing pins in particular, for May. But in general, it's a one person operation authenticating pins, with a couple helpers to open packages and package and ship completed pins. They also have their moderating team assist with reviewing photos to assist in authentications for pins Jenn is less familiar with. But each trade arcade is averaging over 4000 pins to review and photograph if necessary. Imagine if you were trying to do that by yourself, how much time that would take.

Since last year's Happy Haunts event (October) they have been experiencing rapid growth due to the successful aspects of this sort of trading environment. Authentication, not having to worry if a person doesn't ship their pins, only having to pay postage to send out one box instead of $4 per trade, etc. But this has obviously led to growing pains in the ability to turnover pins quickly. They have moved to a system of sending out pins about once per month. When in their earlier TAs, they would wait until all pins from a particular TA had been processed.

This may not be the type of trading people are familiar with, or will be happy with. But this month has what I think is a record 242 tables, so there are plenty of satisfied customers. As the saying goes: quality, speed, cost: you only get 2. Pin and Pop offers quality service, at an affordable cost, so speed is the compromise.

Thanks much for that info. Being a newbie is tough Who knew this was a one man show? Wow! That makes the website even more impressive.
I loved last month's event and am now happily reassured to trade this month!

Let me take this opportunity to Welcome you to the forum.
As a newbie you have questions... people here have answers (Thanks, Hopemax, hdtv267 )
This is a great place to visit...frequently.
I see your are in Orlando, I'm in Apopka, we are blessed to have WDW right next door. (Pin release Tuesday)
Check out the info on local pin meets.
Enjoy the hobby, we were all newbies "once upon a time".

We’re not where we want to be yet but we’re improving our processes and adding more helpers (2 volunteers and 3 part-timers) but still a bit in a ramp up phase. I appreciate the patience of our traders but I also completely understand that everyone won’t want to be along for this ride - hopefully they’ll try again when we get the kinks ironed out.

You are completely correct that we aren’t doing very well making our contact info easy to find. Your post prompted me to look around the site and even where I thought we should have our contact info I was shocked to find no contact info there. I plan to remedy this soon so thank you for bringing that to my attention.

Please reach out to us at support@pinandpop.com or message me here - (either private message or publicly in this thread as all questions, frustrations and opinions usually are super helpful to others as well).

Thanks you,
Chris @ Pin & Pop

As I go through this months arcade I wanted to throw out a couple of ideas (that are probably not new, forgive me)

1. It would be really helpful to be able to see what we offered in a trade while it was pending. (My phone is filling up with screenshots, yet I seem to never remember to screen shot the ones I actually want to look at!)

2. I know there are fields now where we can enter trade and sell value. Is there any thought about making the trade field configurable so each user can choose to make it visible to the public during arcades or not?
Might be helpful to be able to identify a difference in opinion with values when considering proposing a trade and reduce the number of pins that get held hostage.

As always, THANK YOU for making this all even possible for us all!!

number 1, that'd be great.
I purchased a small notebook and started putting notes there. when I make a trade,
yeah adds another step, but I've found it very helpful.

#1 would be awesome. I never think about this until after the fact and then I can't remember. @Chris Nickols - Is there a place for this somewhere?

I know it’s been said many times but I’d still love the ability to bid multiple pins for a grail like pin. I always attempt but know that it’s a lopsided offer. If I could somehow click on two/three/four pins by holding the shift down to make it one bid would be a game changer.
