sometimes finding a pin to add to your traders on pins pics is the hardest thing ever
it gets to the point where i end up looking for it for more than 20 min, so i skip it and dont even bother to look for it again
eventhough i put in a description as accurately as possible

so heres a few things i think they should add

-Add a "non LE" check
-Add a category in which you can search by years (i put in 2003 and it still shows pin from years before and after sometimes)
-Add a color category (i sometimes have the same problem as in the top, if the color isnt mentioned in the description then it shows up or doesnt)

just a few ideas.. not to say that pinpics isnt a great help because it is

or maybe im too much of a noob to use it
but just a little update wouldnt hurt

Pin Pics should see a major facelift and debut next month around the 22nd of July. Not sure if those particular updates/improvements will be part of the "new and improved" Pin Pics, but changes are on the way.

I have found that if you use some descriptive terms in SEARCH, it helps quite a bit.

EXAMPLE:

I have a Cinderella pin. So I type in Cinderella and get 1,954 to choose from. Not wanting to get cross-eyed, I type in Cinderella Shoe because it shows her putting on her slipper. That gets me 37 possibilities, but not what I am looking for. So I look at the pin and see the two mice. I type in Cinderella Mice and get 82 pins, and there it is! #89275.

Because the search engine uses all the text it will find things you think may be innocuous, but are actually in the description or title and will help you find the pin much easier.

So for those hard to find listings, just try to describe what you see in the context of a word. You may be surprised how easy it makes searching.

And as always, kudos to PinPics for giving us a free site to keep track of our pins!

~I type as much info into the search as possible.
~It has lots of catagories to narrow down the search.
~Join pintalk forum and you can post suggestions for improvement there as well.

I know exactly what you mean. PinPics needs a major 21st century update.
I'm hoping it'll blow me away. My expectations are high!

After reading the front page...my expectation are LOW. That is one of the most poorly written intros I have ever seen. Get familiar with your own site - it is a TRADE ASSISTANT...not a TRADE ASSIST.... and giving me a link to Dizpins with your newly revamped Intro...doesn't bode well.

Yes, I am suspect and think Pinpics owned by LANSAM is up to evil, not good....and time will prove me correct.

Since Pinpics has always been a site where the users add the information, it's the users fault that the descriptions are the way they are. Some of the pins are, " Mickey Pin".

Well, no kidding it's Mickey, but what is he doing? What is he wearing? What colors are in the pin? Who else is in the pin? Is he alone? All of those words in the description help, as well as "&" and "and". Also, putting the actual text that is on the pin in quotes in the description helps. "Walt Disney World", "Disneyland", "Flower and Garden" etc

If any of this information is not in the description, ADD IT to the comments. That's the only way other people will be able to find these pins later on.

i actually have a mickey pin that says the original DL and its blue
i typed it in and i found like 10 pages of other pins that match that

i even wrote every color on it and still couldnt find it
so thats mainly why i wrote this

That's because some people don't use enough detail when adding the description of the pins. Most people just copy and paste from Disneypins.com.

If you have some examples of fixes that are needed, please send to me and I will take care of them as soon as I can. Please send to my email address (see below); I don't want my PM inbox swamped.

I am one of the volunteers who corrects typos, adds all pins in a series to the description area, and updates titles/categories/descriptions that are inaccurate.

ETA: I mean I can correct Pin Pics pin entries. I do not do the programming.
