Imagine if someone bought ALL the spots and then got a refund so they got the Rapunzel R/c girl for free!!!!!!! That would be unbelievable! Good luck to all who entered :)

LOL, seriously, I had considered buying all the spots when I found out but at least 20-50 had already been taken...

There are some empty spaces on the board I noticed, so assuming they haven't all sold out? I was meant to purchase a place but because I've been working full-time I have forgotten and I just got paid yesterday as well!! Damn... hope there is a spot left. Fingers x

I am guessing someone never paid, because they were all taken and the deadline to pay was yesterday at midnight. They will probably just take those numbers out which increases everyone else's chances so no complaints here!!!!!

Given how much the last few R/Cs have sold for, wouldn't the value of the prize now be high enough where the winner probably has to pay tax on it?

I really wish they would get better legal advice and not allow the internet to dictate what is or is not legal. The wording is what is key to making something like this legal or illegal in the state of CA. Had they asked for a "donation" and not advertised the giveaway as "prizes" it would have gone down differently. Shame on those haters out here that for unbeknownst reasons felt the need to spin all the legal what ifs over something that was clearly being done as a kindness, pretty sure they know where ebay is ya'll.

I did not enter and have nothing pin wise to gain, but I will be making a donation to the site just because they are awesome for doing something like this. That along with the fact that I use pinpics pretty much daily to drool over pins (pin-porn) and I would hope that others would consider doing the same.

In the words of a certain green goddess........no good deed goes unpunished.

I honestly bet that if someone bought them all, they wouldn't just give that person Rapunzel R/C for free. Remember, they refunded everyone but changed the circumstances because they probably felt bad for those who entered and on top of that, they still were good sports and wanted to make sure it was still a raffle for what people originally intended. If one person bought all the spots, they'd probably say to them "We will refund your money and compensate you with a great pin of your choice for free" but I doubt they'd say "we still want you to have Rapunzel R/C for free so we'll just give it to you."

It's hard to explain I feel over text but I think if someone bought them all, when they decided to refund the person, they wouldn't have kept the same rules that they have now ^_^

Pinpics is smart, I highly doubt a few people from the internet accused them with wrong information and that got them to change. Whatever the person who threatened legal action was saying had to be true because I doubt Pinpics would just listen to anyone without investigating even further if not going to the lengths of hiring a lawyer themselves to make sure what they were doing wasn't wrong. So I do believe that their legal advice was sound.

Already?! I'm still waiting for mine. I'm sure it will be here tomorrow!

I actually checked my email before I did anything else today, and I had a moment of panic when I saw that PayPal refunded me because I was like "oh no, what happened..."

Also I only got my first batch refunded. They are doing it in the order we paid, and I didn't pay for all of my entries at once. Yours should be there soon :)

I have read letters from their lawyer and Molly nailed it. They need need to get better legal advise.

Unlike so many others tossing around what if's and opinions when it comes to law in the state of California anyway, I assure I know what I am talking about and would not just be tossing out my opinion as fact. I stand by my original statement that the stupid internet spun out with so much garbage that instead of backtracking and doing some simple "rewording" of the event/giveaway they simply tossed hands up in despair. Take away?????? If you don't know that you are 100% abiding by the law don't do it. Had I had the time to witness the hysteria that apparently spread pretty quickly (still not sure why exactly) I would have offered up that information and told them to reword the announcement.

Yet another example of a few bad apples making a nasty a** rotten pie out of something that could have been a sweet and yummy for everyone involved. I would also urge those that are able to make a donation to the site we all use regularly.

My two cents worth regarding the word "raffle". Having held many positions on the PTA at my kids school, you just can't call anything a "raffle" in CA. You have to call it an "Opportunity Drawing" and if someone wants a ticket, they get one and they don't have to pay for it.

I think this gesture is going to work out great for them. I had my doubts early on, when there was a ton of speculation on the forum when the switchover of pinpics ownership occured. Rumors of pinpics not allowing users to use the pics of the pins anymore, to talk of it becoming a pay site, I had my fears and took stock into what some were saying. Just go back and read the post when this raffle was first announced. I'll still wait and see how the raffle turns out, but this turn of events helped me see that pinpics isnt the evil entity some would have us believe.

I think that Pinpics has tried to keep the drama away but certain people just won't let it go. I offer praise to PinPics for not giving up and for trying to do the right thing in spite of the nay-sayers.
