Pins not arrived, what do I do?

Hi guys,
I'm feeling pretty down as it seems like I have had a batch of pins that have not arrived. From 4 seperate traders, all with really good feedback so I wasnt worried. All these trades happened before christmas but I have given it time as the post may have been messed up and people may not have been able to post until after, but now I am getting worried. I have 8 pins that have not arrived. I bought 3 of them for around $60 dollars. 1 person has said they will resend as they have a double but I have contacted everyone else and have not gotton a response. I really don't want to cause trouble and I want to believe that the post is just really slow but what are my options? Sorry for posting thing but I want to make sure I do whatever I need to do properly. I don't think I will be trading again for a while as this has really put me off

Oh no, that's rotten. I hope they turn up. Sometimes post can take aaaaages but it does seem a long time. If the trades were done through pinpics maybe they can help. If the members are on DPF, try pm ing the again, and request a receipt of reading so u know they have got ur msg. Have you tried contacting ur local p.o to see if they have them, maybe the package was damaged etc, it seems strange so any packets have yet to turn up....maybe customs as them if the value was marked high?

Thankyou it all went through DPF so I will try PMing again and this time I will send a reciept. My house gets post on a daily basis as we all prefer to buy online xD the post office doesnt have anything and customs charges tend to come in quickly because they want your money

You're welcome, if u look on their profile u can see if they've been active recently, and there's also an option to email them too, under their avatar...it may b a case of them not being active lately and therefore not getting ur msgs. If that's the case try emailing.

Oh wow, 4 trades not arrived. I'm so sorry to hear that, I can totally understand why you'd be upset. Wow, hopefully something will turn up or you'll get some kind of resolution soon. Fingers crossed for you!

I've had a few that have gone the same way for me. 2 the packages were returned to the sender as the labels got wet making my address unreadable, 1 the sender sent to the wrong country and the last one the trader resent.

Were these trades done through pin pics? If so put in a complaint, they have been very helpful with the 2 that I had to raise and both got sorted out with their help. If they were done through here, get in touch with a mod and they can hopefully help.

Sorry to hear I had delayed post over the Xmas period, due to the backlog caused by the holiday season, I think it also had a knock on effect elsewhere too, it was Priority Mail which didn't appear until nearly a month later! I really hope it is finally making its way to you or something will be sorted for you soon.

Really sorry this happened I got worried one had a DC # and it said the package was delivered but it wasn't in my mail box contacted seller all she said was that she hopes I get it. I was about to file a complaint when the package arrived almost a month later and I am dealing with it again, just one pin, I haven't received yet from a trade auction. I am going to give them a little time but for you I would contact a Mod about what is going on.

Sorry to hear that you're having troubles like this. I've just been through a similar thing for 3 trades that were sent in late December as well. I was about to start contacting all and the post office when 2 of them arrived the same day, making me wonder if the posties have just been taking an extended Christmas/New Years holiday, lol. The 3rd I contacted and they have said they would resend and if both show up, we'll work it out.
Now, this is not a new happening and I don't even really begin to worry until it has past at least 4 weeks and 6 internationally, as if they are sent surface mail, it takes 6 weeks for it to cross. (learned that one the hard way years ago, waiting on pins and needles for a huge package to arrive, but it did) There is, unfortunately, little recoure if the other party is unwilling or unable to resend I have found. On my part, I have only had 2 packages lost or damaged in over 10 years of trading online, and I question one of those as I never received my package from them and they claimed they had sent it and never gotten mine either, but it was a single pin and I just filed that individual under a personal "do not trade with" memo to self.

As for ones I have not received, there have been some, and there are times I wish I followed my own advice, which I have given to many a new trader: To be safe, make your first trade with anyone a single pin, and if that goes well, you know you should be able to trust that individual and can trade in larger quantities. I lost considerabel in one back when I started but that individual took a lot of people and was eventually charged and I think many got some back, but it was in US and I'm in Canada, so I lost out, but didn't let it stop me from carrying on. Such happenings are usually few and far between. There was also one where the European I was dealing with resent the package that never arrived, and the resend never got here either, so he was extremely leery of sending a third package, wondering if I was just trying to take him, but then it was discovered that his packages never made it out of his city as there was someone in his post office that was stealing them, but not before we had both been wondering about the other and we've never had contact or traded again since.

Then there was the ultimate in unreal post stories. I waited and waited before contacting the other party and she was upset at my not receiving them and resent the pins, and decided not to trade across the border again...seems it was not the first time she had problems sending north. This took about 2 months to complete but was done successfully. About 4 months later, the original package arrives with no explanation, nothing missing, no unreadable addresses, it just seemed to have taken a roundabout sightseeing tour of wherever on its way. That one I have never been able to figure out as there was absolutely no reason why it should have taken that long.

In the end, trading by mail is never as safe as trading in person, but for the most part it is fine, especially in this world of wonderful traders. I have traded with many other people in other areas of pin collecting but I have found that those in the Disney world seem to be a much friendlier bunch not nearly as concerned with getting as much as they possibly can for what they have. (that would the world of the Olympic trader...been there, left that lol) Don't let it get you down, they may yet show up. If they don't, it's not you that will get the bad karma, it's them, and trust me, there is karma in the pin world and it will get its due. :hug:

Now dear agentofanarchy, oh honey how aweful and stressful. It is a long time, but honestly the one piece of mind is they are all missing. I think thats a kinda good thng. I assume these were all from the US? i can not tell you how the mail system here has gone downhill. Another fine example of a gov. agency that cant do their job.
Sadly and for some dumb reason we cant track overseas? why? UPS and FED EX can! Nobody can help, but i hope you find some of these shipping stories soothing...It aint just you. In fact Yvonne above shipped to me the 5th of Dec and i didnt get her package til after christmas. For heavens sake i could have ROWED ACROSS THE POND MYSELF faster!
