So we were looking at our traders and wants and we noticed that a few of them are upside down traders (more people trading than people wanting the pin) and we realized that these wouldn't get us pins that we want (Beloved Tales!). So we figured it'd be pretty cool if we all got together and did a couple of upside down trades/swaps.

For instance, we have 3 upside down traders.
So we list them
PIN A
PIN B
PIN C

and then we look through our wants and find other pins that are upside down traders for other people:
PIN D
PIN E

Then Pin Trader 2 comes along and says:
I have the following upside down traders:
PIN F
PIN D

and I want the following upside down traders from other people:
PIN G
PIN H
PIN B

There is a match! :bigthumb:(We trade Pin B for their Pin D -if parties agree-)
So if two or more people agree in doing a swap based on characters that would go to each respective collection rather than the trade to want ratio then everyone gets a pin added to their collection and everyone gets rid of a 'bad' trader.

What do you guys think?

I would totally get into this but I don't have many upside pins on my trades. And I kept getting annoying lopsided trade requests so I just took a bunch of the upside down pins on my wants list off. I decided just to buy them at the Disneyana shows for cheap when I come across them.

How about we actually do it with our traders/wants.

These are the only upside down pins we have for trade:

and this is one of the upside down trader that we want:

So let's say that you have that upside down pin that we want and you want one of the traders that we have as upside down. We agree to a trade and both of us get rid of a "bad" trader and get a pin for our collection.

There are plenty of pins I want that are upside down, and I'd even trade non-upside down pins for them. Just as long as the original prices/edition sizes match up (examples, I don't want to trade a $15 pin for a $6 even if they are upside down, or I have a couple of poor ratio DA PINS that I don't want to trade for open edition). Honestly, most of the first two pages of trades are pins I'd trade for just about anything similar, but they aren't desirable, so they just sit. I don't think people like to spend the money to mail those types of trades.

We completely understand and agree that we too can trade those three pins for pins in our wants that are not upside down (Duffy's, OE pins, other LE pins). Of course you don't have to agree to the trade. It'll still be what two people agree (ie we wouldn't do that Zero DSF book for an upside down Hidden Mickey that has scrapper warnings).

Say someone has an upside down pin that is the same LE size as your upside down pin trade. So why not? We just thought it was an idea to try to get "bad" traders to homes that will keep them in their collection.

My message was one of support of your idea, not objection. I'd love to trade these type of pins. I was just saying that over the years, I haven't had much luck.

Wait how is this not like the trade assist?

On my list I have pins
A
B
C
And I want
U
F
L
(Upside down or not)

You want
A
K
T
G
And have
F
I
O

Well you pm me and ask if I want to trade A for F than we talk it out, did I get it right?

I'm down to participate, this could also work with maybe 3,4,5... people.

Person A
Pin 1

Person B
Pin 2

Person C
Pin 3

Pers A sends Pin 1 to Pers C
Pers C sends Pin 3 to Pers B
Pers B sends Pin 2 to Pers A

It would require a little work, but would be easier with pics and maybe 1 person controlling a main post instead of everyone having to scroll through a complete thread.

It's just like it but most people don't trade for upside down pins and since some people are new, they sometimes offer unfair things like say an upside down OE for a really hard LE. This is just upside down pins for upside down pins based more on what you're going to keep (character/theme) rather than the number of trading/wanting.

If a train leaves Chicago at 7am and travels 110 miles an hour in reverse to Boston, what time will it arrive in San Francisco? :D

Just kidding... I get it and count me in!!

I think I get how this works. I will start (if I did this wrong let me know)

Upside down traders I have:
1.Pin 80010: WDW - Mickey and Reindeer with Cinderella Castle
2.
Pin 89369: Character Hats - Collectible Pin Pack - Captain Hook Only
3.
Pin 8497: 100 Years of Dreams #86 Pluto's Christmas Tree
4.
Pin 51721: DLR - 2007 Hidden Mickey Lanyard - Dragon Collection (Elliot)
5. Pin 7587: 100 Years of Dreams #32 Winnie the Pooh Discovers the Seasons

Up side down pins I am looking for:
1.
Pin 44535: DLR - Cast Lanyard Series 4 - Peter Pan Collection (Michael)
2.
Pin 44537: DLR - Cast Lanyard Series 4 - Peter Pan Collection (Nana)
3.
Pin 1313: Snow White Standing With Flower Bouquet
4 .
Pin 8342: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Dopey With Jewel Eyes)
5.
Pin 52854: DLR - Where Magic is Timeless 2007 - Blue Fairy (GWP)

Yup, and hopefully other people will see pins that dont trade well but still will go into their collections. We'll post a trade thread right now

I used to do something similar to this with my POC auctions. :) listed an upside down LE for auction and asked for more upside down things like hidden mickeys for my daughter cast lanyard traders. You could do something like this, but different, since you need stuff that is not upside down.

list an LE for auction that is upside down, and ask for OE pins with positive t/w ratio's as bids. this would clear out the upside down pin, and give you basic trade fodder to work your way up via multi trades and such. I know lots of traders who will take 2-3 oe for an le, and you can work up from there.
