I have always had a very enjoyable time trading here on DPF! I still consider myself new to the hobby, even though I've been collecting for a few years. Some stuff has happened in the last week that really bothers me. Don't worry... no names will be mentioned publicly! I'm just interested in seeing if this is happening to anybody else.

Two weeks ago, I agreed to a trade through PinPics, sent out my pin, sent the DC to the other person, and then received no communication from the trader... After several attempts at contacting the trader, I did hear back. They said their significant other had traded the pin this past weekend without them knowing. That's fine and dandy, but our trade should have been mailed this week. I'm sure we'll work something out... but nothing yet!

Another trade that I sent out last week was agreed to and I quickly responded saying that I wanted to go through with the trade. Several e-mails exchanged, trying to come up with a larger trade... I get the run-around and receive minimal communication... all of the sudden, a week and a half later- NONE of the pins that I wanted are available, including the original one that we had agreed upon. No pins were sent out on my end yet, due to working through a larger trade... so I'm safe here :).

Anyways... I'm trying to be a fun and fair trader and help people get pins that they want. Now, I feel a little discouraged and want to back off of my PinPics use. Has anybody else had instances like these? Is it common?

Let's have this be helpful conversation please... no bashing others in this thread! Thanks!

Though I have not been using PinPics very long (for trading) I have had all really good trades. (Knock on wood) Mind you I do not have very highly sought after pins for trade aside from a few. Everyone I have dealt with has been very kind and eager to trade. I guess I have gotten pretty lucky! I hope you get better traders in the future!

I also get those "fishy" trades on pinpics. Most of the trades I do make are always enjoyable but there are some I do my research about and actually find that they are other members of this forum masquerading as other people just hide their identity and save face while they try and rip people off. I have also has a few of them banned from pinpics. There is one person on here in particular I have has banned three times not knowing it was the same person only to find out later from pinpics mods who it actually was. Just trade with a level head and if its to good to be true.. It probably is.

That is really annoying. What happens to me sometimes is that I will make a trade then send my shipping address and then I wont get anything back. I have not been to lucky with PinPics. It is really irritating.

the first trade: be concerned. Do you know how to access their feedback? Do they have feedback? If you get no responses soon about the pin you chose instead, then you may need to contact a MOD on Pin Pics.

Second trade: Well, no trade is final until addresses are exchanged, so best to just let it go and move on.
