Nope. But I do agree he's pretty scary; that movie was never popular however. I'm talking about Frollo from HoND. He's scary in a different sense; no magical powers or anything... but he believes what he is doing is right. He's a realistic villain, therefore he's pretty frightening.

Ahh. Frollo was creepy on multiple levels.
The character costume at the parks doesn't help… those fingers…

No it wasn't the first. The Great Mouse Detective used it in the Big Ben scene, Beauty and the Beasts ballroom scene used it, the Cave of Wonders in Aladdin, the Stampede scene from The Lion King, and if you wanna get REALLY technical The Black Cauldron is the first Animated film credited to using computer generated animation for it's special effects and fire.

Little Mermaid also used it for a few scenes - The carriage ride when they jump the cliff (watch the wheels - they don't spin and it's a little weird when you notice it), and the wedding scene at the end is (supposedly) done on the computer. If I remember right, the end scene with Eric and Ariel's wedding was the first time they scanned in the animation and painted the frames on the computer then animated them on hand painted and scanned in backgrounds, which is how Beauty and the Beast was then done.

Just an FYI - the official Disneyland pin site now lists the Lion King puzzle release date as June 7th, rather than the 10th which is what was displayed for the past few weeks.

I'm going to try to go out on the 8th if I can physically move (I'll be doing a 12.5 mile obstacle race the day before). If not then I hope there are plenty of boxes left on the 10th which is when I was already planning on going.

They did at one time have a non-full costumed Frollo at the parks. But I think it was only for a special parade or show, he looked pretty creepy though... but better than the current version of Frollo they have the parks in my opinion.

Back to the Black Cauldron  One of my top favorites by the way... Wasn't it also Disney's first rated PG animated film?

What's its rating at the moment? Ratings seem to change over the years. They were worried it might be rated too high at some point I think.
