I was visiting a hotel this weekend for an expo, just south of disneyland. As usual, having little kids, we visited the lobby, and the lobby shop. In the shop was a display of some unique lanyards and a bunch of pins. What caught my attention was that there were hidden mickeys on plain black Disney labeled backer cards.

So I investigated a bit, looking at the different pins. Not only were there hidden mickeys on what to most folks would be "official" Disney backer cards.... ALL ther pins on the rack had dips, streaks and color flaws. It was so obviously a scrap ebay lot that I wanted to cry.

Is it any wonder tourists dont understand???? Look at this!!

This is terrible. Looking back on my last trip to Disney, I have to assume that pins I bought from the tourist trap gift shop were not authorized pins. I was brand new to the hobby and I had no clue. I'm sure parents who have no clue see this as a cheaper alternative to what is offered in the parks.

It's not even a cheaper alternative to the parks. They want $6.99 for one pin! That's even more pricey than the cheapest pin at the park.

I have reported a couple of eBay sellers that sold me scrappers and refused to refund my money. This is where I reported them. I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for. I hope it helps.

While I was there this weekend I was going around the hotels and souvenir shops looking for jerry Leigh pins and I saw a bunch of hidden mickeys on Disney cards and thought that was weird too and thought to myself while walking around Disney wondering if they were scrapers but forgot to go back and check! I will pay attention next time and report it as well if I see that!
