Just wanted to alert the pin community that the DSF Jasmine Jumbo pin (Pin 111403) has been scrapped, and there are scrappers currently floating around on eBay.

Left (Top if on app): FAKE
Right (Bottom): REAL

Telltale signs of the scrapper:
1) Missing the highlights on the necklace and earring.
2) Prince Ali's face looks off and is less detailed.
3) The left pupil is higher than on the real one - there should be a bit of her iris showing at the top.
4) There is more space between the top of her left eye and her eyelash.

I've also posted the notifications on PinPics and on my IG.

Yeesh! Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Why do scrapper creators/sellers have to ruin nice things?

I freaked out a little because of our trade (I was terrified for a moment that the one I traded you was a scrapper) but looking at the photo it was the real deal so I feel a lot better.

And now I can't unsee Jasmine's walleye.

What a shame, sometimes it feels like no new pin is safe! :banghead: That original one is absolutely gorgeous though!

Thank you for letting us know ...even with picture it is hard to tell which one is the real deal

You are showing both pins with cards? Are the fakes coming on cards? Also, what about the back, any differences?

Good to know. I love this pin and have looked for it from time to time. I was getting the impression that there were probably high-quality fakes out there...unfortunately.

Oops, sorry for the scare! D: But yeah, mine is legit! That's how I was able to spot the differences and confirm to the traders who sadly had unknowingly bought/traded for the scrapper.

Yes, it appears the fakes have cards too. Let me check the back of the one I have with a picture of the back of a scrapper. I'll edit this post with pictures.

^ SCRAPPER (both)

Edit: Yep, the back of the scrapper has borders, so the ice cream cone pattern doesn't reach all the way to the edge.

I mean, as far as scrappers go, it's not too bad. I was just so excited to get it and it was something I would never have thought I'd track down within reason. So it's really taken the wind out of my sails. And it's been a long time since I've been burned on a trade. So I guess I was due for one /shrug

But still. Crap. This sucks...

That sucks, Merlin. I hope the person you traded with will send your pin back if it was an honest mistake. I hope that's all it was, and not something more insidious. It is stuff like that that makes we wish it was economically feasible to make these pins in the States, I think it would be easier to prevent scrappers that way.

No...........

I just traded a huge pin for this and mine is a scrapper............

I'm heartbroken.............

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you Hopefully you can get it sorted, please keep us updated on the situation!

Well, it's been a week and and two very polite messages and no response. Alas, ear wax. Be vigilant, everyone! I hope no one else has gotten stuck with a scrapper.

Ariel was sold from China before it released too. People had photos of it on their phone before surprise announcement was released. Pretty much assume ALL DSSH pins are scrapped in some quantity and sold from China. Sad thing is a lot of veteran traders know the sellers and exploit the opportunity. Newer traders who have seen their faces often at events and releases assume their pins are legit because they are around often. Sadly not always the case. Buyer/trader beware. Look for original backer card always. On the jumbos there will be post holes obvious if the backer card is correct.

I can't comment on the front of the pins, but I've purchased many DSF pins and it's very common for the ice cream cone pattern on the back to have edging. The fact that the ice cream cones don't go off the edges (like the Mickey waffle patterns seen on most pins) does NOT mean it's fake.
