So my son Jordan who is 5 has loved the pirate pins, and I have purchased/traded pins for him to add to his pin book, he gets excited over them and I love when he does "oh mom, I want that pin weelie baaad" lol "ooooh cool" but recently his interest has begun to shift, he still loves the pirate pins but he really shows interest in Haunted Mansion pins, I have not collected them before because they are so popular and many I like can get pricey, but I do like them too, so I have recently purchased a couple my son had his eye on. But then I was wandering around Pinpics and saw this http://www.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=70083&sid=3985.1344711337 and thought how cool to put the pins we get in this really neat bag. I put a trade request in even offering the HM pin I just bought and a lion king PODM http://www.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=56745&sid=4033.1344711486.v2 and a Jumbo 50th anniversary castle with fab 5 boxed pin, and a few other pins which I thought was a worthy trade. I did not get a response so I assume the trade was snubbed. Since only 5 are trading I wandered over to E-Bay and low and behold one is for sale! but the seller is asking for 1000.00, are they out of their mind! it's rediculous how greedy some sellers are, this bag originally sold for 79.99. I really want to send him a piece of my mind, I guess I will not be getting this bag for my son for christmas. I thought how cool to buy a few pins and put in the bag for him and wrap it up so I could see his eyes light up on christmas day! it's so sad sellers are just way overpricing just because they feel they can. I doubt it sells for what they are asking.

So now I wonder, is there anyone on this forum that has this bag and wants to trade? I have a few pins worthy as a group, if anyone would like to trade please see what I have in my trades even my owns I may part with some of my private collection. I would really love to have this bag for my son. He may be 5 but he takes very good care of his pins, he keeps them in his own pin bag and keeps the bag with mine. He likes to pull the bag out sometimes and sit on the couch and look at them and show me his favorites. Any help would truly be appreciated.
 
Keep an eye out on ebay this sells for around 200 on a normal day. The 1000.00 one has been there awhile and if anyone pays that they are crazy. We have this bag and bought it on the day of the release, it is great, however it does look alot like a purse so if it is for your son I just want to warn you about it. My friend actually used it as a purse for a year. Good luck on your quest, the Haunted Mansion pins are awesome. I have a few for trade if you want to take a look we are kind of downsizing our Nightmare and Haunted pins we just have way too many pins. If they are easy pins I will be happy to trade very easy for your son.
 
I am guessing it must be partly what Andres said in another thread; they post the horribly outrageous price and let people see it for a while, so that then a still-outrageous price that's *less* suddenly seems reasonable. Like, it's there for $1000 so that you'll see it for $300 later and go "well that's not so bad, it was $1000 before!"

Bah.
 
IMHO auction sites are just that. Its not the Seller who is crazy for putting the bag up at that price, its the Buyer who is willing to pay that amount who is crazy.

These bags have been highly sought after from day 1 of their release at the Haunted Mansion 40th anniversary event. I had no idea just how cool they were until I saw them in person! Of course by then, it was way too late for me to get one, lol! One just recently sold for $330+ on eBay and there were several people bidding on it. Yeh Janice there has GOT to be something else, something cooler. The authentic disney HM bag is nice but it would seem you could find an actual docotrs bag at one of your thrift trips or if he is really into it --and your crafty, what about making a mini coffin and you could put a liner in it--purple satin and have cork under the satin so the pins can pop right in..OH I AM A GENIOUS...that sound awesome.....ohhhhh maybe you could hinge it and it could creek? Ya gotta know some kid in wood shop..or someone on here....??? this site is full of crafty quirky folks with usless skills LMAO JUST JOKIN FOLKS (now there will be a thread on insulting blonds from jersey) XO:p

LMAO your so darn cute! you know I took woodshop all through high school, I got some skills, lol! but thats a great idea, after halloween though my sewing machine skills are keeping me busy making him a costume for the trick or treat party at DL! woohoo so fun, can't wait!

I bought mine on here for $60 a year ago, one of the coolest bags I own, I don't even want to put pins in it(I know, weird and kinda of counter-productive!) if you want an over all bag, look at the WDI Mansion bags, they have large ones and some small ones too...they tend to be had at around 50-60, close to cost.
 
I think that bag you're looking at is cute! Like an old fashioned Dr.'s bag - you expect to see a stethoscope coming out of it :)
 
I know that post is such an outrageous price. It has been on there for months. I could not believe it when I saw it. I have been watching this bag for awhile it usually sells from $200- $300. It is a nice bag, but is very similar to an old school doctors bag. I am also hoping to see it somewhere for a reasonable price, but we will see.
 
The Mansion crowd on Pinpics is not a bunch that return very many offers....As I look at that list, there is one or two at best that will respond. Best of luck!
