WOW. Audacity doesn't even come close to describing that statement.
Let me attempt to humanize this for you. Not sure if that's possible.
Clearly a pin is more important to you than everything EVERYONE in my life has been dealing with.
Take a glance at our avatar. I'm Brian, on the right. I'm running this auction and have been handling all the updates.
We live in Toms River, NJ. Google Maps it. We're a mile from Seaside Heights. Probably the most devastated area. Do the math.
Our entire state is under a state of emergency. We've been powerless since Monday morning, and it could be out until next Wednesday.
Target is open. There is no bread. No milk. No chips. No batteries. No flashlights. NO candles.
There are no deliveries coming into our town to supply stores.
This is our neighbor's house
And that's basically how every street looks.
5 of our friends houses were flooded and they are now homeless.
ALL of their earthly possessions are now sitting outside their house on the curb.
My friends' house & car after the winds stopped.
We are currently at a relatives house using their electricity to charge our electronics and to take a hot shower.
AND THIS is a line for gas. The gas station is a mile from where these cars are headed, and the line wraps up the street for 2 miles.
Many gas stations have run out of gas, and our refineries were shut down.
now YOU tell me, after waiting in line 2 hours to get gas what's important here.
Using the gas to charge your phone to get on a message board to update a leaderboard for a piece of metal?
Or using the gas to charge the phone so you can make spotty phone calls, to loved ones that are 60 miles north who also don't have power OR water?
I'll take option 2 & 3. But really option 3 since it's reality. I have an iphone 5 and there are NO car chargers for it yet.
Please do me a favor. Don't bother bidding on this pin, your bid will NOT be considered.
I actually looked forward to coming on here and viewing the bids that were placed since I last posted.
Now I'm angry & feel pity for you.
I hate that I have to live through this, but it's really put my life & what's important into perspective.
Everyone else, thank you for being patient, when I calm down in a bit, I'll be updating a leaderboard.
