Let's all give a sarcastic thank you to whomever bought the Tangled Marquee for $400 dollars on EBay today. We extend our condolocenses to those who are still in search of this grail pin. Thankfully we have it already.. :phew: ...I guess we can all expect people who are trading this pin to increase their pin value meaning we'd most likely have to over trade in the future. :(

Happy trading!!

:eek2:

I bet the people that we bought ours from for $15 is kicking themselves now!

Anyone else notice on the ebay listing, it had 4 trading, 230 wanting... and now it's 5 trading and 229 wanting. That's an expensive trader!

That is mind-blowing. I remember wanting this pin back in 2010 (just when the film had come out) just because it had Flynn on it. I am really glad I bought it then, way before it's popularity soared into the stratosphere...

Glad I got mine a while ago. I was fortunate enough to get all the really tough marquees except for Wall-E before they got popular (Tangled, Up and Enchanted).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Marquee value/popularity list now goes something like this:

1. UP
2. Tangled
3. Wall-E
4. Enchanted
5. Avengers
6. Brave
7. Sleeping Beauty
8. Cars
9. Tron Legacy
10. Mary Poppins

The original Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, and the original Little Mermaid ones are probably more popular/valuable than a few you have in that top 10.

Seems an over the top price to me. I think the Rapunzel/Flynn chair pin is the nicest one from the original DSF set too (not that I'd pay anywhere near the price of what this marquee sold for, if I had to get it). I'm pleased I managed to get all of the DSF Rapunzel pins that I wanted when I did. It's such a shame that they are so difficult to get now as in my opinion they are some of the nicest Rapunzel pins available.

hi ok I am new to collecting Tangled pins, and i would really like to have this pin but for that price me thinks i will wait..
so far in about 2 weeks of collecting tangled pins i have ..
1 tangled podm
Pin 84970: Disney Store Europe - Tangled Pin
Pin 80965: DLP - Rapunzel
and should be coming in the post soon..
1 more tangled podm and

Pin 82017: DLP - Tangled - Booster Set

so i think i have a long way to go !!!!!!!! :) :) :)

Pauly it was a best offer. I nearly burst into tears when I saw that someone actually paid that price for it. If people cave to the demands of greedy sellers, then prices will only continue to go up. I'm sorry if that seems rude, I really don't mean for it to be, but yes I'm bitter and sad and frustrated and feeling very hopeless with pins at the moment. There are so many pins, including this one, that I feel like I"ll never own because my traders 'aren't good enough' and I don't have the kind of money to buy them on the secondary market. I'm not a marquee collector like so many other people who own this pin. I just love Tangled. I'm adopted and connect with stories having to do with kids being taken away from their parents, searching for their true identity, etc. this movie makes me cry every time I see it, and it's that emotional attachment that makes me want to collect the pins. It's too bad their 'value' is so far out of my range :(

Thank goodness I have that one already as well. I bought it over a year ago from someone selling it on the forum for 20 bucks. Rapunzel is crazy right now. I would bet 8 out of 10 new traders are Rapunzel collectors. I am proud to say that i am an O.G. Rapunzel collector. Been collecting before the movie came out. haha. :)

Still makes me want to kick myself for not getting it at DSF (and 7 of those Rapunzel/Flynn chair pins!)

:P
