I blew ANY sort of reasonable budget for pins this month. When I got home from my trip I had several packages waiting for me and I didn't realize until I went through paypal and looked at my Fantasyland Pin release receipt that I have spent over $500 JUST THIS MONTH on pins. Holy Geeze. Be on the lookout for a sales thread in the sales forum here in the next few days. If my hubby finds out that I went THAT overboard, I might post looking for a room to rent. Seriously!!!!

You are in good company. Between BatB PODM, Pluto's Christmas Tree PODM and New Fantasyland I also spent $500. At least I knew it was coming, so I told DH that in exchange I would severely cut back on Black Friday shopping. I still picked up some gifts, and some frames for my pins. But I didn't do nearly what I usually do for things for the house that need replacing/upgrading.

It can definitely get out of hand. This was the first year I started buying specifically to trade later, and I've spent about $2000 MORE than budgeted for. I either need to stick only to buying what I'm collecting for myself or pre-sell enough to cover my own madness.

Since Sept pin event and all the stuff I bought there to now I have spent 3,000 on pins. I did the math the other day it maybe more then that with all my husbands stops for vinyals and dtd pin pick ups ouch there goes my down payment for my car. we now have to save for our passes that are up in March and the pin event in Sept.

tori im comin jan 9-14...i gotta do a post and maybe try and do a wee gathering in say DTD for drinks/cof and light trading. NOw im sick...i dont even wanna add up my crap but it has been way bad. i think im someplace around 2000 since the circus. the darn PODM, the BLT boys made 2 trips and went shopping for me. my 2 trips to DL and the damn MYDPINS store and finally the Regan library with the D23 exhibit. Was gonna re-do the bathroom....good gravy.

I try and set a budget each month but usually blow it within the first 5 days...LOL! I'm really trying to spend my money lately on pins that I want (even though they can cost more) rather then buying traders in hopes to trade for. I've also finally set my theme for my collection instead of going all willy nilly and wanting everything. I tell you though...it's hard!

I did the same thing last year, spent so much on traders when I could've just bought what I wanted and probably would have spent less and had more of what I wanted. The camp outs and wristbands at DSF this year has saved me tons of money too.

I was like this when I first started collecting as I jumped into the deep end when I didnt expect UP to be expensive, back then the releases were coming out every week or so plus getting stitch pins I could have been spending upwards of $300 a month on pins. Luckily I dont have that problem anymore and that I rarely break the $100 mark nowadays with me having the majority of pins but I did break it last week when I bought 16 stitch pins from someone as traders...
