Yeah, I think it was mentioned in a reply on one of the pinpics threads, but those threads have gotten long and who wants to go scrolling through to find that ONE detail right? IDK about you, but i am to lazy to do that. lol

So, try this:
  • Click on my trading list.
  • It says page not found right?
  • go to the top, to the web address. and add gallery. to the beginning, right ahead of the pinpics web address.
  • Click enter or go or whatever.
  • Poof! my trade list!
This works on the trade, wants, and "matches" links over there under our ID and avatars.

this is how it looks currently when we click:

This is how it should look when you adjust it:
http://gallery.pinpics.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?user=kadair76&list=w

I know its an extra step, but it certainly will make bidding on auctions, and looking for dpf trade matches a bit easier until the ADMINS can get our link updated.

That still goes to the old site... if people are updating their wants/trades on the new site, does the old site reflect those changes? Does anyone know?

Edit: Oh wait, I can check that myself. The answer is yes, the old site *does* reflect trades/wants changes if you make them on the new site. Yay!

yeah, have not figured out the link tricks for the new site. :cry: but they DO update both ways, so hopefully by the time pinpics kills the old site, DPF will have updated the link process.
 
thanks. hey any other tips, im having the hardest time and wanna cry. For ex. I put in the search tab to the right of the home page sayyyyy MOTHER GOTHEL and 7 pages of pins come up--some with the word mother in them some nothing to do with mother or gothel at all and no pins are in numerical order...

i also tried to find the PWP WDW event LOCKS --i tried everything in every area and they didnt show and then went on old site and put LOCKS in the search bar and BOOM they they are in order on the last page ---

IS IT ME?

Once you get to the Narrow Search page (because your first search didn't work)...

Try "Mother Gothel" using the quotes. Or going to the Character Drop down list and selecting her name on the list.

For this one, try Lock and then selecting Walt Disney World from the Origin drop down list, since that's where they were released.

If people didn't really use the checkboxes, on the old site, it will probably be an adjustment to start using the dropdown lists. But they do help :)
 
One thing I found using links for the new site is that you need to have an account and must be logged in for the links to work - hopefully pinpics will let sites like DPF know what the new mechanism is that allows similar functionality to what we are used to.

To narrow your search put the " marks around mother Gothel. That searches for both words together in that exact order.
 
Narrow your search fields as much as possible. For any topic you are searching, use quote marks or * marks. There is a tutorial on searching the new pinpics HERE

I am still working it out in my head. I dont adapt to new technology or methods easily.

ALL the tutorials about the new site can be found in pin university. you have to scan through the different topics, but there is a BUNCH of info there to help us navigate the site easier.

The address has been changed and this awesome little trick doesn't work anymore.
Any of you tech-savvy traders know a quick fix to fix the fix that was in the OP?? :rolleyes:

Looks like the 3rd party website that provides the forwarding service is currently offline :sad:

(further investigation - looks like there is something funny using Internet Explorer on the site)

Looks like it's a problem with the site when using Internet Explorer 10. I tried it with Firefox and it generates the old pinpics link (without the gallery. at the beginning)

I'm more in sticker shock from what the want for a 1 year "membership" $49.95.

PinPics WAS a nice resource, but not any longer. I certainly do not it carrying that high a value nor their stated extras adding anything to my pin trading experience.
