Triple burned by three trades! What do you do??
Thanks everyone for the advice :) I have filed the grievance through pinpics for two of them. The big one is unfortunately the one that happend here. If you would like more info send me a PM and I will reply to it. Rawr!

I apologise for the delay in jumping in and tossing my $.02 in. I just now saw this thread.

First, let me say that I'm very sorry that you've had this stretch of bad luck with trades. I understand your justified frustration when trades don't work the way they should and while I appreciate your concern for the community (in wanting to post the names) so that nobody else trades with these people and has a similar experience, I don't think this is the appropriate way to handle a trade (or trades) gone wrong and, in fact, I believe it is against TOU.

If the people in question are members of DPF, simply leave negative feedback. THIS is what the feedback system is for, after all. As we should be checking feedback before making trades anyway, any prospective traders will find out about this problem before making a trade with these people. If people *must* know, they can PM you for more details, but I don't believe this is the sort of information that must or should be posted on the forums - and this goes for all trades gone wrong, not just this scenario.

You may want to try contacting a moderator for help (through the forum the trade was made). I think you might be surprised how quickly some people will reply to a moderator's email, even when you can't get them to respond to yours. I also would file a formal complaint with Pin Pics. Since you have had a problem with these traders, there is a chance that you are not the only one, but the Pin Pics moderators cannot do anything without that complaint ... and enough formal complaints will generate an investigation into a trader's practices that could result in a suspension or ban from Pin Pics (should it be deemed appropriate). You also can consider filing mail fraud charges ... but know that this could end with the person serving time in jail, so this is not an option to consider lightly.

Again, I'm sorry for all the trouble you've had and I wish you the best of luck in getting these trades sorted.

Add my name to the list of trades made with the DPF Member. 2 months, I usually give overseas envelopes plenty of time but now that this has popped up , I went ahead and sent a PM to them. Heck of a way to build a collection!

To the OP - Just curious, did you check their Dizpins references before you traded? I'm not saying Dizpins reference history is any kind of guarantee, I'm just wondering what kind of history these three problem traders have?

I am very sorry that you have had this run of truly bad luck. These three instances surpass the number of bad trades I have ever had, and I have been trading online since 2001.

Just as an update...no pins were every returned from wolfiemuffin and were are on month 5. Email responses have ceased as well. If this person (or any of her other pin names) offered or tried to trade any of the following pins, let me know. Thanks :)

Pin 58990: DLRP - Pin Trading Night - Simba
Pin 47453: Disney Auctions - Father's Day 2006 (Simba
& Mufasa)
Pin 24076: History of Art - The Lion King
(1994)

Gosh, i hate to ask also, but i got some good warnings on ebay traders that trade scrappers so i would like the 3 names. Very shocked that a member on here would squelch (seems serious good traders on here) and i JUST did a bunch of trades on pinpics so now i am nervous, i just cant imagine screwing somebody on pins?? I guess i live in my little bubble though. And it does not matter the price or value of the pin, its the point and thats hurtful, so spred the IDs and those folks wont be able to receive free pins anymore!

I finally received my pin back (months later) from this DPF member after filing a complaint on Pinpics. Funny how she was able to return it after telling me she never received it... Her ID is no longer on the Pinpics site.

Talk about rotten luck! I hope those lousy traders get banned!

Amy,

Thats a real shame ...

I've gotten burned by a trader on this site too (the member responded to my thread here via PM offering to sell them to me http://disneypinforum.com/showthrea...TSM-Recycle-Bin-**Updated**&p=89117#post89117) .... I even sent a PM to the Admin on this board about the member but they didnt even read it (still unread as of today). I submitted a dispute with paypal and eventually got my money back but it's left me a bit disillusioned about trading/buying online in general. I'll be at DL tomorrow ... I'd rather trade pins in person anway ... it's fun to see what others have.

The mods don't really seem to be answering our problems. Which is rather annoying.

Wolfie Muffin is one of the culprits ?!?! Shame on you ! It is no different than theft . Please send me the other two names ! I finally after all this time got a reply from a pin pics trader . She wanted me to send my pin first and I just decided to not send my pin . Too many traders have been getting ripped off .
Sad that mods & admins are not stepping up and getting involved to help solve these issues .

it makes me sick..on whats going on

Wolfie Muffin is one of the culprits! .

I am not defending Wolfiemuffin, but awhile back-someone posted and I think it was on the sale boards news about her. They said to e-mail them and not to contact them through DPF and they would respond to e-mails. I did e-mail and got a response and my pin did arrive about a week later. I no longer have that info, but thought you would like to know.

I too am having a dilemma with a DPF member, but at least they are communicating with me for now. This has been going on for over a month.

Good luck on getting your pins back.

Amy, so sorry to hear your issue. I have the same situation with Wolfiemuffin currently from a trade on Oct 20th. She finally replied to me last week saying she was going to return my pins as she never mailed but I guess we will wait to see what comes of that based on everyone elses experiences on here.

It is with pin trading sadness that I revive this old thread! Had "incidents" with two seperate international trades in one month that resulted in me sending out three pins (one LE 100) and receiving zero pins in return :(

Is this just part of the international trading game?? I've lost out on only 4 trades (out of hundreds and hundreds) and they have all been from europe, mostly UK. I use online postage now so I can see when packages get processed and sent to customs but beyond that there is no information. I also find that many international traders say they have no ability to give any sort of shipping info at their post office facilities.

Can any international traders speak to this? Is this true?

Merrrrr...frustrated!

That's rather rude to say. I see at least two mods on top of this in nothing flat. I've seen nothing than less than stellar responses from folks here, from a site that is operated for FREE no less.

International trades DO take a bit. I've seen posts where people have been waiting two months, give up, then a few days later it's Christmas! Also keep in mind that we recently passed a heightened time when security HAS been tighter with customs, especially mailing of small packages, due to the recent anniversary of OBL's death. THAT may be what is slowing down international trades.

As far as the locals, that's just WRONG. But pin karma is funny when it comes around and gets you like a tack on a chair.

I'd appreciate the names in a PM too please. I still own well less than 100 pins so to lose just one would devastate me!
Particularly as I have low feedback at the moment as I've just started so I'd be more open to sending first to worried parties. Don't want to get screwed over!

EDIT: Just noticed there is a page 2 to the thread I missed when posting the above ^^

I might not have been into online pin trading for very long but I have been trading assorted My Little Pony products overseas, mainly the US and Canada, for 9-12 months now (can't remember exactly when I started!) so I have some experience with regard to international posting.

I must have sent at least 50 items in that time and I have only had bad news at the US end 2 times. Once was where Royal Mail damaged the envelope in transit so almost all the contents were lost. I put in a claim but got no where as the contents were not valuable (they were 5 for £2 pasta tins but obviously the weight made the postage HUGE). I split the cost of the replacement parcel with the reciever as I felt sorry for her despite it being no-ones fault.

The other incident was to do with lateness, the parcel took an incredibly long period of time to arrive, nearly 2 months! When it finally was recieved it turned out that this parcel must have been everywhere but where it was meant to, it had postal stamps on it from both Europe and Canada when it was meant for the US. So yes, sometimes parcels can go missing for a while but they normally turn up.

I think you were asking about tracking? Or a way for us in the UK to check on where the parcel is?
I know that the basic small packet service doesn't come with this, and its expensive as it is. You can however pay more to get either signed for or tracked delivery. But I was told that the parcel is only tracked until it leaves the UK, and not beyond! So it is only tracked until it leaves Royal Mail's hands!

I'm sure DHL track things but I have no idea about costs.

On another related note... Royal Mail! Where is all my dang post! The postie didn't come today ¬_¬ 2 days of no post du to Bank Holiday and they don't show up today ¬_¬ not like I'm waiting on pins and ponies!... rant over :P
