Started out as a PP TA: I DID get a TA this AM from someone in France. I was rather sleepy when I saw it and replied YES to the 1 for 1 offer. In hindsight, when I looked again it was STRONGLY in my favor, but NOT for the ANSWER to my reply from the Frenchman (yes it is a man).
Their reply was now VERY strongly in THEIR favor IMHO (although they DID say "sorry"):

"Sorry but i search a multi, very multi trade for the Pin 95842 (Disney Store Europe - DLP Disney Dreams- Tangled).

But tell me if you are agree with that :

- Pin 83068: DLR - Artist Sketch Series - Lithograph and Pin - Alice in Wonderland - Pin ONLY
- Pin 64596: DisneyShopping.com - Magical Mystery Pin Set (Fairy Godmother Only)
- Pin 42116: DisneyShopping.com - Villains Portraits 3 Pin Set (Yzma)
- Pin 89503: Sculpted Gold Leaves Mickey Mouse Icon
- Pin 93034: DCL - Oyster Shell
- Pin 64589: DisneyShopping.com - Magical Mystery Pin Set (Tinker Bell Only)
- Pin 64592: DisneyShopping.com - Magical Mystery Pin Set (Blue Fairy Only)
- Pin 56538: DisneyShopping.com - Treasure Hunt Mystery Pin Set (Tinker Bell Only)
- Pin 60858: DisneyShopping.com - Women's History Series - Tinker Bell Suffragette

WOW- that is NINE pins, including the LE 50 64589 tINK for the Tangled DS Europe. It's a hot pin with a greater than 1:10 trades wants, BUT NOT THAT HOT- again IMHO.
I said: "non merci"
very few pins are worth that much to me- regular (non Ebay) RETAIL for the nine pins is $120-150:shock:

I think I know who that might be. He is fairly new.

A while back, he sent me a trade request which seemed to be a single pin with a multiple choice of pins.

When I accepted for one of the pins he requested, he got back saying his request was for a total of 6 pins including the Pocahontas BT pin and some marquees and one PoDM. He was offering me the train car with Sleeping Beauty Fairies.

The postage required to send those pins to France probably would be half the pin's value anyway. So, yeah ... there are definitely fishermen out there

I get that from France, "I only do multi-trade." I'm like, "eh, I'll pass. I only wanted the one pin, or else we would have had more matches..." Yet I still get emails from him all the time.

this is not the person who ALWAYS wants multi trades, but I will remember this encounter with another Frenchman

Hey suzanne. weird. Just say no then. What he asked for was alot...but you don have to accept or you can counter. He may just ask for the moon and aparently people give it to him or would not ask.

I did see this pin supposedly going for $1000 on ebay-- i think thats what the rumor mill said on FB. I dont get it cause its ugly.
Rememer not to mention names and not to take it personal....just carry on!

I will bring my half of the egg shell to match yours I am not impressed with the new Dreams pins at all. Those bright, neon colors make them look cheap imo. And the background totally overwhelms the pin-on-pin elements.

There are 4 of them on Ebay from France, but those are ongoing auctions and nowhere near the $1000 mark.

Something to also remember is that europe $$ are different from ours. this person may just not be calculating values correctly. This person may also have english as a second language and be newer to pin trading.

totally lopsided, but a counter off might have gotten the discussion going more and eventually have gotten you the pin.

he said this: "i search a multi, very multi trade for the Pin 95842 (Disney Store Europe - DLP Disney Dreams- Tangled)." I was looking for a 1 to 1 trade, so I didn't counter offer another "very multi" offer.

I'm pretty sure this is the same person who contacted me and the EXACT same thing happened. My reaction? "Whaaaat??? LOL Um, no." I didn't even try to have a discussion because in their mind, the pin they were offering was the most awesome pin on the planet and I was lucky to have this opportunity. They were annoyingly aggressive for my tastes and I shut down that trade immediately. I ended up buying it elsewhere for a price I was totally happy with.

However, the whole thing about this person not knowing their currency value, etc? I don't know anyone in a country using Euros who isn't aware of the value of their money in other countries and vice versa; the conversion rates for Euros come naturally to them and without effort because they're used to dealing with it.

On a side not, if anyone ever needs to convert Euros, Pounds, Yen, whatever country currency to US dollars (or USD to their currency)... a good website is www.xe.com

i got a trade request form pinpics and it gave me the email for thr trader. i asked for a little help around here and was told that i need to email and ask questions. So thats what i did. i was not mean at all. i just asked were they got the pin and if they could send me a pic b4 we trade. I never got word back and when i look them up on pinpics. thay have like 30 traders and 207 stitch pins on there want list. seems sumthing is wrong to me.. guess i should just b glad they didnt email me back. pin may have been bad.
