WDW August Pin Event - Animation Celebration

I had a crazy weekend and just decompressed today and took it all in. It was a great event and there were a lot less sharks than in the past (or maybe I am the shark ). I spent most of my time in the shark tank, so I could be sitting and not deal with the wheelchair. I met with so many DPFers (to be listed here when I format this correctly).

All the beautiful red heads! I traded the OUAT pin with @Kiragigi who kept it for me this whole time (thanks again)! The Ariel nouveau is missing some enamel, so the person who traded her to me gave me a steal along with the club pin. I had pretraded the Ariel DCL pin with @Booger1964. The Triton clamshell @MerlinEmrys zapped to me, bless his soul. And @hopemax traded me the hero pin!


The Yzmas I traded to @dawny and @TheMickeyMouseRules.


All the magical musical memories to help my collection along. I just kept going from person to person finding as many as I could.


@Ajk zapped me the last pin I needed in the very first pin series I collected! It feels so satisfying to finally have the Haunted Mansion pin! The F&G Figment pins were a prize from trivia, they will replace my normal ones since they're AP.


Sooo many art and science pins @natelove zapped me the works of art one! @AidanShepard also zapped me the Boss' Day one, that I will be getting her back for eventually! I loved the theme so much, but I only ended up with a couple pins, because my car ended up breaking down right before the event and I returned a lot of them.


Pulled a fake marquee from someone's trade book. The castle was also from the trivia prize pack. I think I'm now less than three pins away from being a non-Nordic outfit Anna completist.


Ludwig is my new collection for this year. I saw the safety pin in a book last year and became friends with the person who had it, so I traded him this year, because I neeeeded it for my job.


I am a Tamatoa completist, not that it's difficult.

The fakes are silverish blue in background, the real is a vibrant blue. I knew ahead of time and just wanted to take it out of their trade book, so no one else could. I would have taken more out to save others if I could.
 
I ended up with that same fake marquee since I wasn't paying enough attention. I've kept it as a reminder to be more careful.

That was very nice of you to remove it from circulation!

Which one? Elsa? The person ended up trading all the pins away we had set up for Elsa at the end of the event, so that was a bummer. I didn't do much major trading this weekend. So, I'll be keeping all my big pins for another year.
 
These are my pins from Day 2. I have to thank my sister and my friend Carol for standing in line all day doing the board pulls. I also have to thank Merlin for Trading me the Pluto Year of a Million Dreams pin from Day 1.


There weren't a lot of pins on my wants list here, but at least I got to change up my Traders some.

Jelly of all the Wonderland AP's and PP's people found on the boards. I heard the Alice park pack pins were on the boards during the event but when I went to the public trading day on Sunday, no one seemed to have them for trade or they had traded them already. I did trade for a Peter Pan park pack pin (Wendy center pin) AP if anyone has an Alice AP or PP they'd like to trade for it! I also traded for a Queen of Hearts AP mystery pin, plus the Alice mystery notebook pin, but that was it. :/

Again, if anyone has any Wonderland AP's or PP's they're willing to part with, message me!

Or if you found any of the Alice Park Pack pins in my signature - regular or AP/PP - PLEASE message me!

Could anyone tell me how I would go about attending the Fairy Tails event? I live in New Mexico and have never been able to go to any of the Disney events and really want to go to this one. Would I just show up? Or is there a place I need to look at for tickets? I'm afraid everything will be sold out by the time I'm able to find anything about it.
 

This year tickets went on sale online in April. The date was announced in advance and people posted it here. And I think they sold out in about 30 minutes. You have to be right there on your computer.

Thank you so much. Do you know where that date will be announced for next year? (like do I have to follow a certain page on Facebook or their online store?)

Tickets were on sale until a week before the RSP was due in July. I had a couple friends who were going back and forth about it and decided too late.
 
The event cost was $150 for 2018. The event is inside Epcot, so park tickets are required... the biggest expense for attending in my opinion. It is a two day event. Although this year an 'open to all' third day was added. You must register to attend the 2 day event and participate in the event pin RSP.

I have gone the past 3 years... Since we both live in the same NM town, if you want to meet up... Would love to share my experience.

For the Fairy Tails event? My heart just broke a little I have no idea where people go to know about this kind of stuff. Where were the tickets bought from? Just for future reference.

We usually post up the thread when it's announced, so check back here sometime in March/April. The tickets were available for 3 months, so I don't think you should worry about it that much. Just focus on saving the expenses to go to Disneyworld for right now until then.
