I'm looking to display my Soda Fountain pins and have decided that framed cork boards are the way to go. I need smaller boards as i wish to display small series on each board. Any help, suggestions, or ideas would be very appreciated.

Michaels and/or AC Moore with a 40-50% coupon. They sell all sorts of sizes, some framed, some un-framed. Most craft stores will do the trick.

Just last week, Michaels had a sale and I bought 3 boards 2 feet by 3 feet... $6.99 each!! Original price is like $19.99 each or so... check Michaels and watch for their sales!

I bought cork at Home Depot and made my own boards. They sell the cork for like $1 per foot. It come in a roll that is 100 ft by 3 feet. I have all sizes of boards from 6" by 6" to 4' by 6'.

I was wondering about cork boards too. It sounds like most people use them for display. I was tossing around the idea of either cork or making my own album from foam sheets from craft store. You all have great suggestions. I'm liking this DPF and how everyone helps one another out! Yes... I'm a newbie, just joined the other night!

Hobby Lobby has a great selection and you can get a coupon off of the Internet. That's where I get mine. Be sure to check the home decor action where the framed memo boards are as well. There are fancier ones there!

Welcome to the forums!

About a month ago I picked up a little cork board with a pretty blue frame from Target. I have run across beautiful cork boards from places like Ross and TJ Max. But I think economically, it's best to make your own such as how Mixedwolf does! It would look nice to use fancy frames and make the cork board to fit. I haven't done that yet, but I'm planning on it.

If you want regular frames (like, standard corkboard ones), then the stores they've already mentioned are good.

If you want "fancy" frames that look like they should be for pictures, but with cork in the middle instead, I've found them at Home Goods, Ross, and TJ Maxx. They usually come in several colors, like Tink green, white, black, and tan. Sometimes red or blue. The only issue with these are the fact that the quantity/supply is iffy, since they're clearance type stores.

I've also seen these types in Hobby Lobby, but I passed on them because I wasn't sure if the pins would go all the way through (they had solid, hard backs that I was afraid would interfere with the posts. Can anyone whose has bought them let us know if the pins sit flat on the board with no pressure to the posts?

Ikea

My Ikea boards have lasted longer than most of my others and they were oh 6 bucks each.. The worst ones I bought at Target have had to fix every one of the frames..

All my boards are painted (right now various 'tropical' colors with black frames) so while I technically have oh 5-6 versions of similar boards its harder to tell..

I purchased my standard/medium sized one at Target for under $5, I believe :) I need to go back and get come more. I remember they had small and super large ones, too.

....are those license plate frames with cork placed inside?

That...is an AWESOME idea! Which I am promptly stealing...haha! I just wished you would have showed them off when I was displaying my Jessica collection. I totally have a Jessica plate, and I would have put her car themed pins inside of them...

I was inspired by Cars Land and put all my DCA pins in license plate frames. I even found an "It's Tough to be a Bug" frame. The mermaid frame was actually a very beat up "bikini girl" frame from the thrift store that my daughter painted to look like Ariel for me. I glued cork board to foam core and then put it behind the license plate frame.
