Just to counter act all the negative energy lately. So many rants, complaints, and overall anxiety fill this board! So, let's talk about why we love to pin trade, why we continue to do so, and such!


Here are my favorite things:

-I love waking up in the morning and looking through my email for the possible trade! It can be so much fun looking through and analyzing potential trades. Sure, not all of them are fabulous, but some do get a chuckle out of me. :)

-Everyday I avidly wait for the mail to arrive, or when I am at work I call home to check, hoping that there are little brown envelopes filled with metal goodness! I will admit the times when I am at work the clock seems to move a little too slow after I find out about my mail, but it's all worth it when I rip open those packages!

- Trade talk!

- Staying up into the wee hours of the morning talking to fellow pin traders, and not even on release days!

- Waiting hours in line for a stupid, shiny piece of metal.

- Of course Princess Pins! LOL The whole reason it started.....



Overall, I have had a great, positive experience with Pin Trading. Sure it has it's pros and cons, but it's been worth it!

And add that I love seeing my displays/frames/corkboards! I think it makes it that much better for me now that I've moved them out of the book to where I can see them! Of course, if I go to the DLR pin trading night next week, like I hope to, I'll have to pack a bunch of them back up!

But really, I would say that it is the bonds that I build through pin trading that I enjoy most.
As much as I love my pins, it's the friends I've made through this hobby that have the highest value in my book.

i love the fact that pin trading is a hobby my whole family shares together,but mainly my hubby and i love spending time together trading.

i love checking my emails for requests,i only send out ta's now once a week on sundays.mainly because i only want certain pins and their usually from the same people who never reply back,so i dont want to be a pest.

i love disney and this is the perfect way to show my d pride!!!!

By far, in my 10-ish years of pin trading/collecting, is the people I've met, some of whom I'm still friends with from way back when, some of them don't even live in the U.S.A. I'm heading off to WDW and will meet some more people I *know* but haven't met yet, and I'm really excited about it! :hsd:
 
I love Pin Trading because it makes me feel like I'm at Disneyland trading pins from the comfort of my home! Though of course I'd rather be AT Disneyland trading. Pins are each a memory (where you got it, which trip you traded for it, what you did on that trip, the memories you made), so really for me, pin trading/collecting is a collection of happy memories.
 
I love pin trading because of all the pin people I have met and garnered fantastic relationships with. People I never would have met otherwise, and continue to know even outside of pin world (yes, such a thing does exist!).

Secondly, trading at events and meeting people from ALL OVER the world. It's absolutely amazing how pins can bring so many people from every where you can think of. It's wonderful!

Third, all the fantastic pins I've acquired, but most importantly, all the pins that other traders have sought out specifically for me. Find me at an event and come up going "OMG! I found a pin for you!" -or- "Hey! Do you have this pin? I got it for you!" That's truly amazing.

I've always been disheartened that threads like this are always overpowered and less likely to be seen that the "venting" threads. They always go away, and never stay at the top, while everything everyone complains about stays around for DAYS or even MONTHS. Let's make this one different, eh? Let's keep bumping this thread as much as we can with what we all enjoy about pin trading! How long do you think we, as a community, can keep this thread popular?
 
I love pin trading because I get meet new people and become friends with people in different states. It is amazing the people who you become friends with just because of a simple hobby. Plus it also gives me something to do while I'm at DLR because since I have grown up fairly close to DLR I have been on everything and done everything. And I love interacting with new people also and talking to the cast members. Must have spent a good 5 minutes talking to a new girl working over in TomorrowLand about how she thinks that Pin Trading was so interesting.
 
I love pin trading because every time I go to Disneyland I always meet the nicest people. I could go a whole day with a bad pin trading experience, and then right as I'm about to leave the park, I look through one last collection, and I make a trade with a kind person. Disney magic! :D

1+ Pin trading has opened a new chapter in our lives together. Finding a hobby that we can share together with the same level of enthusiam is a priceless bond.

Community: need I say more :hug: We feel lucky and fortunate to have meet some many of you fun and nutty people, just love ya!

Now I want you all to help me convince my DH that I need a Starwberry Blond Standard Poodle!

My favorite thing about pin trading is the people you meet. Pin traders are the nicest most generous people in the universe and they are such fun to be around. I love talking about pins with others who know what it is to stand in line to get a pin or get up at 3 AM to order something online. People who share your passions in life are much better to be around.

I love those shiny little pieces of metal that bring loads of smiles to my face.

And Ms. Cupcake, you can only name your dog Strawberry Shortcake if it's a girl. You'll have to pick something else if it's a boy. That's just fair to the poor little dog. Well, actually standard poodles are pretty big dogs. Hope you have lots of room and a big yard.
