On today, Wednesday, February 1, 2012, I have officially completed my Jessica Rabbit collection!

:hsd:

Every pin released of her from 1999 until now!

And man, that last pin was a doozy for such an easy pin! I had to buy a pin for that person, and when it came, it was damaged, so I had to buy another (from the UK!), and when I finally got that one to her, she sent me the wrong Jessica!

But the right one finally came today, and now, it's done!

Pictures coming later, of both me opening the last pin, and the complete collection all together.

AND! AND! As a bonus...

I met some AWESOME pin traders from out-of-state tonight at DtD, and we traded, and I got a holy grail! This Tink:

pin43996

Last needed in my Tink Day of Beauty series!

What an awesome night for pin trading for me...

WOW!
I am soooooo jealous!
EVERY SINGLE JESSICA since 1999???
How many are there???
I did not know that was even possible............,When did you start collecting them?
Did you buy the majority of them yourself at cost?
Did you trade for most?
Or................
Did
you succumb to the auction sites???
Just curiosity.
Can't wait to see the pics you are going to post for us to drool over!

CONGRATS!!!! YOU'VE earned them!!!!

Ahahaha! Thanks so much! :wiggle:

I was going to include the full story with the picture post I'll do later in the week (I'm still pulling all the pins down from our hobby room, so it will take a while to arrange them all).

But quickie answers- I started around 2005, casually, and seriously in late 2006. There's around 586 pins for Jessica (those numbers are a little off, because there's things like frames, then all the pins in the frame, etc.). MOST pins from 2007 and up I was able to buy as they released, but all the DA stuff and earlier pins I did a combination of trading and buying from eBay.

WOW! SO AWESOME! I'm so happy for you! What an accomplishment that is! What's your next project if you have one?
I know I'll never be able to finish my Epcot collection myself, lol.

You never know! There were times when I was like, "This pin will never show up again...I'm doomed!", but then, with time (and luck), stuff happens! :)

As far as future projects...AHAHA! No. Well, that's a lie, probably...maybe better to say nothing that big.

I mean, I kinda wish I hadn't started the Jessica one- it's very nice to have them all, but there were times it was more stressful than fun. :)

So, I'm going to do little ones...maybe try and collect all the Tokyo Game prize pins, and I'd like all the Duffy pins. But mostly, I'll be trying to get all the TDS Duffy outfits from Japan. Watch, now that I say they're "small" goals, one will prove to be a huge pain in the butt. Actually, the Duffy Outfits will be a "big" goal, but they're not pins, so...

Big congrats to you. :)

Looking forward to seeing pictures. Must have cost a fortune. Where there times when you'd get a fake pin from someone and have to send it back?

Also, wasn't there someone else who had gotten all Jessica Rabbit pins on here?

No fakes, to the best of my knowledge. There were a few I knew had fakes before I had them, so I knew to look out for them.

And you're probably thinking of me- I made a post when I got my last HARD Jessica pin. I just needed to wait on a DSF Christmas release, and get this D23 Train pin to actually say I was finished. It was my "I'm almost done" post :)

I know of one gentleman in Texas who almost has them all (he's actually a huge WFRR collector in general)...I'm sure he could have them all if he pushed...he just gets the latest when he feels like it :) And Greg, here on DPF, acquired all the Jessica pins he wanted super fast (most of them the hard, DA ones).

I'm sure there are others out there, but they're not as vocal. I only know about the gentleman in Texas because I traded a lot with him when trying to complete my collection.

That is very spifftastic! You have some paitence to be getting all of those pins! I can't wait to see your last pin and your completed set when it's all pinned up! Are you using boards or bags or, what to display them all? Just curious how youa re going to show off this collection.

That is so neat that you finished your project. I know someone who is very jealous that you have all those Jessica's (LOL). Someday I hope I will be able to post that I finished my AIW collection.

I personally was never a big fan of Jessica but I do love to look at everyone's collections! It's neat to see a complete, finished project.

Now... that Duffy project. ;) Haha good luck. I'm still working on my Duffy pin collection.
As far as outfits... there are only a few I'm truly interested in. I adore his original sailor and Mexican outfits!
I haven't personally looked up the TDS outfits but when you get them be sure to show me some pictures!

Btw, do you take your Duffy to the parks? I always make my boyfriend carry our jumbo Duffy on his shoulders and I end up carrying the smaller one in my arms like a baby. You wouldn't believe how many people smile and laugh at us, lol. Everyone thinks the jumbo Duffy is our legit child (we have no children btw) because of the way he carries him.

Thanks for the congrats, everyone! I read and appreciate them all :) I'm currently re-working a couple of frames and shadow boxes a day, while checking off my master check-list to make sure they all make it downstairs (I make it sound like a NASA launch or something...heh).

It's a combination of all of them, actually. The collection was on display for a PTN 3 or 4 years ago, so a lot of them got designed/framed around then (both in glass frames and in shadow boxes). I'm just adding the newer releases to the appropriate frames. The ones that don't have a particular theme will be on a big cork board.

HaHaHaaa LoL :) That someone is Me! <3 <3 <3

Gosh! That is Amazing! And I Can't wait till you post Amazing Pictures of it All!!!!
<3 Someday I will Complete Mine as Well <3 ...or Die Trying ;)

It often feels like dying...LOL! You already have a great start, you'll do fine :)

That is SO cute! I don't know if I could ever carry the big one around...the little one tires me out! And yeah, every time I'm at the parks I take him in a different outfit. In fact, I just had to buy a new one because I dropped him in the parking lot at PTN and he got dirty, and nothing I did got him clean :( Right on his muzzle...

The TDS costumes are *amazing*. Check it out:

http://disneybearduffy.web.fc2.com/02.html

It's in Japanese, but you don't have to read it- just click on all the links! Top section is DLR/WDW, middle is Tokyo, and bottom is Build-A-Bear Disney-themed stuff.

Unfortunately, TDS is really strict about clearing out their merchandise once the "season" is over, so the older costumes are really hard to get. I hope to find a few in Tokyo collectible stores (I saw some floating around when we went in 2010, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't get them).
