DisneyStore.com Price Error??

Ha Ha! I would guess that someone, somewhere got the price of the Mickey Head mystery packs confused with the price of the St. Patrick's pin.

Has anyone called them and asked about the pricing?

Yes, I raised this to a Guest Services member in chat. She was apparently uninterested. She didn't comment on it and asked if there was anything else she could do for me. So, I let it go.

Frankly, this is the kind of apathy I have seen from Disney 'order takers' recently. They always take the path of least resistance. In recent trips to WDW we have had difficulty purchasing things (jewelry, art work, pins, etc.) because the 'order takers' just want to ring you up. They don't want to be troubled to look for stock, check a price, double check inventory, etc.

On my last trip I was told at the Epcot pin station that they were sold out of the key pins. In fact, they had plenty. The first 'order taker', when asked, didn't even bother to check the drawer. I can recall a dozen other instances in the last year and a half and it's pretty pitiful. I don't know what's happened with Disney but if we have to stop buying stuff and just enjoy the rides and shows, we will.

Just out of curiosity I went back to disneystore.com today. before long I got the chat pop up and the cast member asked how she could help. I sent her a link to the pin and asked if the price was correct. she said it was. i asked if she was sure. she very firmly reassured me that she was certain it was correct. i then told her i had just bought the pin at WDW for $6.95. She congratulated me. So I pushed again on price and she explained that WDW and Disneystore.com are completely separate entities and price things differently (despite the fact that this pin is even featured as a WDW Parks Authentic). So I showed her the link on pinpics.com and she stuck by her guns that the price was correct.

It happens. Unfortunately when you work for an online retailer as customer service, there's not much you can do when it comes to changing prices. They can point it out to their superior, but they can't offer it at a lower price. Perhaps they need some better training? I wonder if they listen in on the calls. Might be a good idea if they did that. Looks like there are a lot of complaints with customer service.

It's definately an error, but whether of comission or omission is open for debate.

Pin is highly overpriced and no one sane should be buying it at that figure. It will be an error of omission if like the infameous $16.95 Queen of Hearts Sale for $19.95 they don't discover and correct the erronious figure. It will be an error of comission if they actually think anyone is fool enough to buy it at that price and set its price there deliberately.
