By all technicality, this is a 'bad trade'

Pin 84653: Aladdin and Jasmine Carpet Ride Philharmagical Dining

For my
Pin 86852: DisneyStore.com - 110th Legacy Collection Rapunzel Pin

Not gonna say it was THAT terrible since I like the Aladdin pin A LOT more than the Tangled pin (i loved rapunzel pins, but that pin just bothers me)...It's just that maybe a week or two later, I found the same pin on ebay for $8 lol (yay trader?)

Ah well! I still like it more, so I guess it works out in my favor? XD

Well, I did my 110th legacy Rapunzel for a Jasmine reveal/conceal (with a very slight flaw)

I haven't done it yet but if I ever get the chance I'll trade my soul and my youth for an Up marquee (my holiest of Holy Grails)

Sadly, just a lot of the trades I made with CM lanyards back before I knew about scrappers. Once I started learning how to spot them I was sad at how many I'd wound up with. On the other hand, it's maybe a miracle I wound up with as many REAL Hidden Mickeys as I did!

This is how I am too. I remember buying 5-600 pins at the Disney store, luckily it was the discount store, that I traded with CM over Xmas/NY that I found out when I got home that 1/4 were fakes. But that still meant that 3/4 or so were real. I could have traded those Star Wars LE3000 pins now for at least full sticker now probably. Oh well, I started my collection and it's grown every year since.

That pin once went for $80 at the most back in 2010 then I'm not sure how it boomed in price.. that hard i guess

It's just hard to find via trade. It's never at the park, pin trading events and the people on pin pics are ghosts. I have no problem with buying it, if i have the money and it's available I'd buy it in a heart beat

as a newbie... I gave a shark this::
pin49095
Pin 49095: DLR Cast Jumbo - Monsters Inc. - Mike &
Sulley to the Rescue

For 3 open ed retired rack tinkerbells that I thought were "cute".....

Same here! Except they were all scrappers. :( I have 39 Scrappers. So sad. I got a lot of booster sets from Disney and traded those for the stupid HMs because I thought they were valuable. Stupid younger me. I have no idea what to do with them.

Does it count if the worst trade you ever made is one you didn't make? I could have made this trade back in 2005:

http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=38660&sid=7303.1344845916.v3

for

http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=38168&sid=7311.1344845989.v3

Exactly, I know. I passed because, at the time, I wasn't collecting the PTN pins and I thought having one of them would irritate me. And now? I can't get that PTN pin to save my life! Most. Ignorant. Decision. Ever. Can you say 'ugh, just ugh.'

That is too funny, because I made that exact same trade too! I traded my extra 110th Rapunzel for Jasmie reveal/conceal the day my pin arrived  quickest turn around trade ever

I got sharked a LOT when I was new to trading, and for quite some time before I knew values! When I started, all I had were nice cast exclusive pins that me(or my dad) had bought at the team center, and I traded them away for hidden mickeys, open editions, whatever because I just liked to trade. I definitely have a list of people inside my head that I either don't trade with, or am very on guard with.

I was the same way, the funny thing is a lot of those early cast pins came way down in value so by today's standards they were pretty good trades. :wiggle:

There's another thread around here with a teacher who gives the scrappers to her kids as prizes (not kids who are going to go trading in the park.) Ah here we go, it's Jules: http://disneypinforum.com/showthread.php?14139-what-to-do-with-scrappers&p=231627#post231627
