I wanted to actually have a discussion :D

I really like Pieces of Disney Movie pins and yesterday in line many people were saying the next Piece of Disney somethings were going to be costumes. While I think this would be cute, I really wish we knew for sure that the PODM's were ending or not. (One source says forever, one source says for a short time.) So though we have this dilemma, I wanted to take about not just your favorites, or what you wanted to see, but everything about them too.

What draws you to them?
Why do you not like them?
Do you want all the scenes or all the PODMS?
What would you like to have seen?
What did you see you didn't like?
Do you like how the releases have gone? Now or previous releases?
Speculate a bit: If they did a whole 'nother year of them, what do you think they'd release? (Not what you'd want)

These kinds of things I'd like to talk about :D

What draws you to them? trade factor. tradeable.
Why do you not like them? I think they will bottom out in a year or so. The pins are big and bulky, pretty enough, but the main draw was the film frame and thats not visible by standard display method.
Do you want all the scenes or all the PODMS? No, I actually have come to the conclusion that I wouldn't mind owning a few, specifically, Dumbo w/zebras. Tangled w/maximus. Mulan w/khan. Cinderella w/Major. because I collect horses. But they are not my crazy holiest grails or anything
What would you like to have seen? Hunchback of Notre Dame.
What did you see you didn't like? So many Pixar movies were done instead of some of the other disney classics.
Do you like how the releases have gone? Now or previous releases? hated the free for all. Wish they did wristbands much sooner.
Speculate a bit: If they did a whole 'nother year of them, what do you think they'd release? (Not what you'd want)

Speculating? hmmmm obviously not in order
  1. Oliver and company
  2. melody time
  3. pocahontas
  4. Hercules
  5. Cars
  6. Lilo and Stitch
  7. Robin Hood
live action???
  1. Roger Rabbit
  2. Song of the South
  3. Narnia
  4. That Darn Cat
  5. Pirates of the Caribbean

Ughhhh!!! I'm so sick of PODMs. That's all anyone wants nowadays. Makes my collection feel worthless!!! I do not like PODMs....and yet I can't resist bidding on them. They are so pretty

What draws me to them? The fact that they are all so unique. It's fun to see all the different scenes that are out there.
Why do I not like them? Like I said, that's all anyone wants nowadays. People are obsessive about their PODMs and it's annoying
Do I want all scenes or all PODM? No, I only want PODMs of my favorite Disney movies. Which is why I only have 101 Dalmatians and Fantasia. I want BatB in November. As far as the scenes, I'm not picky, I don't care what I get.
What would I like to have seen? I'm a villain collector so I would have liked to see more villains in the scenes.
What did I see that I didn't like? I'm going to agree with Pixie on this and say too many Pixar movies and not enough classics. Would have LOVED a Hunchback or Black Cauldron PODM I'd go after those like there was no tomorrow :)
Do I like how the releases have gone? I don't know. Never been to the releases. Though I do with they would have set some PODMs aside to release for the Disney Store Online. Makes them available to more people.
Speculate? They would probably do a lot more Pixar like UP. Maybe a Wall-e. Now THAT I would want. Maybe they would do some of the contemporary classics too like Emperor's New Groove and Atlantis.

What draws you to them? trade factor.
Why do you not like them? They seem to be all anyone wants xD especially in auction. From pictures I have seen you can see the edge bit of the film cell, like the plastic? seems to me they could hide that and it might look a bit cleaner?
Do you want all the scenes or all the PODMS? So far i'm not attracted to any (my bank account is happy because of this)
What did you see you didn't like? ^^^^^^^
Do you like how the releases have gone? Now or previous releases? I cant comment as I dont live in a country with a disneyland but it would be cool if they would sell some online.
Speculate a bit: If they did a whole 'nother year of them, what do you think they'd release? I would like to see hercules xD but I think maybe they would do some more classic disney films?

What draws you to them?
-The variety, most pins have a different scene which makes it possibly to have multiples of the same pin but each with different scenes increasing the collect-ability of them.

Why do you not like them?
-Not enough villain scenes.

Do you want all the scenes or all the PODMS?
-No I'm quite contempt with just scenes from specific movies I like.

What would you like to have seen?
-A more villain specific pin design, possibly the Evil Queen to go along with the Snow White one.

What did you see you didn't like?
-Some of the earlier pins had less scene variety.

Do you like how the releases have gone? Now or previous releases?
-Yes, they are very organized and the pins and variety have gotten better as we've gone forward.

Speculate a bit: If they did a whole 'nother year of them, what do you think they'd release? (Not what you'd want)
-Probably pixar and sequels.

I'm bothered by the fact that the last few (meaning in the last few months of the series) they had these throwaway movies, that weren't even movies. I'm sure there are some people who are/were really excited about Steamboat Willie and Lonesome Ghosts, but let's face it most of us would have liked a major movie. I feel like they cheated us, Disney made their money, they sold everyone, but is it really what the collectors wanted. Did Disney do right by us?

Sorry I didn't answer all of the questions, might have to do that later.

What draws you to them?
The pins are so beautiful! Each and every one of them. I love how they are all unique, and they trade very well! :)

Why do you not like them?
The scene variety. I mean, there are some so far with nice variety (Lion King, Mulan, Aladdin) but some had terrible selections (Cinderella, Peter Pan, Fantasia)

Do you want all the scenes or all the PODMS?
All the PODMs, I aint no Goofy_Moe  haha.

What would you like to have seen?
Better scenes for the first year of these pins. Like I said, most of them were bad!

What did you see you didn't like?
Some of the pins had flaws on the scenes (reversed, upside down, scratches, bubbles etc.) For $19.95 and then $24.95, I expect perfect quality pins!

Do you like how the releases have gone? Now or previous releases?
I like last year better. You could stop by at 8 or 9 in the morning and get some great scenes! This year, there were hardly any bad scenes that all the amazing scenes made the good scenes look lame :( And I think the wristband thing is smart. My only complaint with the release now is that it says on disneypins.com that they don't want people to line up until 6am, yet people were there over night!? Stick to the rules you post, Disney. And they shouldn't limit you to 5/6 scenes to look through. I'd say 10 is better.

Speculate a bit: If they did a whole 'nother year of them, what do you think they'd release? (Not what you'd want)
This would be a reasonable release (I think they'd go along these lines)

Jan: Sleeping Beauty
Feb: The Fox and the Hound
March: Cars
April: The Princess and the Frog
May: Wall-E
June: The Incredibles
July: Pocahontas
Aug: Brave
Sep: Tarzan
Oct: The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
Nov: Up
Dec: The Nightmare Before Christmas
:) I would love an Up one. Maybe they'll do surprise/random releases. Like how they do PODH pins now. One here and there!

piece of disney costumes..... really? wow. a bit of random fabric. who is gonna prove that it was really some of aladdins outfit? ((fot that matter how did we know the piece of disney historys were actually pieces of attractions and not just random crap they stuck in there?))

while I do not collect PODM, I actually sort of understand why they did the SBW, Lonesome ghosts and Pluto christmas. It indicates where they were going to go with the series if it continued. They are classic Disney short films. You will notice I included Melody time in my speculation....

BTW, the live action was a wish... reality is more likely Atlantis, Emporors new groove, Silly Symphony, Hunchback, sleeping beauty....

Jan: Three Caballeros
Feb: Up
March: Emperors New Groove
April: Sleeping Beauty
May: Winnie the Pooh
June: Angels in the Outfield
July: Hercules
August: Lilo and Stitch
September: The Band Concert
October: Remember the Titans
November: Tron
December: The Goonies

Heeeey yoooou guyyyyyyyyyysssss!!

DDF is a typo I never fixed XDDDDDDDD

DPF sorry..

I like that they did some shorts, but may a better choice for one of the 3 could've been fun and fancy free? Jiminy on the Pin and you could have scenes from the three different shorts...collectablility through the roof! Kind of would make each LE 666+

And with that I think that a Tron + Tron Legacy one would be cool. Have Flynn and Tron on the pins then cells of either movie?

Guys you don't have to answer all the points btws...they were just topics i was thinking of :D

What draws you to them?- I love Disney, disney parks, and most of all, the movies. The PODM is is a great way to have a unique pin (isn't that why we collect?) of your favorite films. Also, I taught myself how to make the animation cels which has furthured my love for the animation process and the work it takes to make one scene!
Why do you not like them?- I don't like not getting them haha! The prices on ebay are crazy and pin releases should never resort to violence/ pushing!
Do you want all the scenes or all the PODMS? - I only want specific moments of a scene that I like (ex. Peter Pan at window, Dalmatians watching tv, Alice/ Hatter/ Hare together) but they are also the HTF ones...
What would you like to have seen? I wish that the cels in year 2 were not so freakin small! Year 1 was so nice in cel size! But I also wish they had more scenes in Year 1 like Year 2 so a mix of both lol!
What did you see you didn't like?- I like shorts and the pins look nice but they seem out of place in the Piece of Disney MOVIE set.
Do you like how the releases have gone? Now or previous releases?- After Aladdin, it went CRAZYYY especially after the announcement of its discontinuation...even worse!!! I only went to Nemo and it was so calm and fun!
Speculate a bit: If they did a whole 'nother year of them, what do you think they'd release? (Not what you'd want)- Princess and the Frog, UP, Wall-E, Huncheback, Cars, Pocahontas, Brave, Sleeping Beauty, and better Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan lol (I wish...)
-I wonder what cool stuff there will be after this set is over... So far, I've only fallen in love with the PODM and Beloved Tales... What's next? :D-

I liked the idea of these pins originally. But when Alice in Wonderland came out with no Cheshire or Dinah, then Lady and the Tramp came out with no Si/Am, and the Little Mermaid came out with no Prince Eric, and no Lilo & Stitch, Winnie the Pooh, or Emperor's New Groove pins ever came out.

That means the only character that I collect that ever appears on these pins was Lucifer (and is not a major part of my collection). I have this pin, but it might make its way into my traders.

So, I thought these pins had good potential but terrible implementation regarding scene choices. It does seem like 'Mulan' had lots of good scenes, though...

What draws you to them? Hollie: i love the scenes, AND the frames, the beauty on some of them Karl: Tradability, rarely found ones he NEEDS
Why do you not like them? Both: Over Pricing on Ebay. it boosts peoples opinion on what to ask for there pins and things decend into utter madness and disappointment
Do you want all the scenes or all the PODMS? Both: one scene from each seems fair, all you will mainly see is the frame anyway. maybe add another one or two if you love the film
What would you like to have seen? Hollie: Pocahontas and Lilo and Stitch Karl: Sleeping beauty!
What did you see you didn't like? Both: some of the pixar ones are bulky looking and square and some of the first realises have reallllly had scenes!
Do you like how the releases have gone? Now or previous releases? We live in the uk so its wait untill ebay pop up with them.
Speculate a bit: If they did a whole 'nother year of them, what do you think they'd release? (Not what you'd want)

i think they will, i think PODM will go on for a few years, people want them, they have enough films. disney seem to supply to demand.

i think they will defiantly realise Cars soon, and Brave around the DVD realise, nbc maybe in october, maybe something from the very early shorts. i think live action wont be untill later on.

its interesting to speculate.
