The whole thing is so ridiculous. This release should have been moved up a week and totally skipped the holiday. A huge portion of pin collectors (and sharks) work retail and will be working on Black Friday. Maybe that was done intentionally, to lessen the chances of crowds. And this way, maybe they figure people at Thanksgiving dinners won't line up quite as early out in the cold. Personally, with the wristbands I see no reason to get there THAT early other than a shorter line once the stores actually open. But you have to start weighing your own health in what inevitably will be a very cold morning. Ugh. I'm over these!

Oh, well THAT makes a little more sense! I was going to say! PAYING premium holiday airfare for the release that isn't a sure thing for you to get any anyway....but if it's for free...then why not??!!

Nope, I am happy it is on Black Friday :) Gives me a chance to actually go and get the pin myself! Maybe....although I probably would have been happier with Thanksgiving. :)
 
I hate to stoke the fires, but hey I'm in Nashville so this release was out of my reach anyway. Anybody concerned that although the date has been officially moved to Friday that many people will still show up on Thursday and some of the CM may release it early??

This is just a catastrophe waiting to happen!
 
Am I bad for just thinking that I'll endure the inflated prices on Ebay and skip the hassle on this one? I try to limit myself to one scene per PODM that's released (though admittedly, I'm thinking that depending on the scenes released for this, I may keep two this time) and typically when I go, I trade all my other scenes out to others/buy them for those that can't make it but seriously... this is starting to sound like way more trouble than it's worth considering that I may not even get a scene that I'm all that crazy about.

I'm a bit ... hesitant but on the other hand, how many people have a premium pass to get into the parks for the pin releases in LGM or FAB...? (I saw that all other passes are blocked out) So, I wonder if it will be as crazy inside the parks for the pins...? I just don't really want to have to camp out like so many others are talking about doing plus I have a 6 month old puppy so to leave her in her kennel/crate all night and morning isn't an option.

Aquata - I plan to show up at 3 or 4 a.m. the day of the release and hope there aren't already 500 people standing in line. If there are, oh well, I'll just chat with people then move my car to the structure at 7 am. LOL

You raise a very, very valid point! Sometimes we have to weigh the value of our time and more importantly the stress involved vs. just shopping online and getting the wonderful little brown envelope in the mail a few days later.
 
Some may just see a pin on ebay on Thursday that they like and buy it, and then not feel the need to go through the trouble to go to disneyland on friday. If you can find a nice pin for $40-60, which is quite likely, why put yourself through all the pain these releases have become. I know if I factor gas into it I can come out ahead if I just need one pin.
 
I met a trader over the weekend at DLR that said her group of 9 were showing up Monday to take turns standing in line for the BATB release. And, even though that was when the release was still scheduled for Thursday, she was confident it was going to get moved to Friday.

I think that is insane, and I really hope that someone constantly asks them to leave.

I hope the CMs ask them to leave. That is just obnoxious. :(

That would be loitering! And maybe prowling (<------:nono:) People are crazy. I have decided that I am LEAVING my house at 3am...that will get me to the parks at around 6am. The parks dont even open until 9, and WDW doesn't do wristbands...so, I did what any sane person would do...I pre-bought one online so the pressure is OFF...I am going to get at LEAST one (even though I want 3 since I am collecting sets for both my kids...) and if we don't get the pins...at least we will have a FUN day at the park on Thanksgiving!

Right....the Magic Morning thing... Where a bunch of pin traders sign up for the breakfast to get into the park early and then NEVER show up..those people suck!!!!!! I for one am super glad they are doing it on Friday...for the first time this year I will actually get to go to one of these things.

Stephen and I are definitely happier that it's Friday rather than Thanksgiving seeing as we were hoping to spend it with family instead of waiting in line! Now we're just hoping that I won't have to work at Disney on Friday until later in the day! :anxious:

Wow, this is a beautiful pin! I hadn't seen a pic of the frame up close until now. All the best to everyone going to this release! I'm sure this pin will be lovely no matter which scenes they pick ^.^
 
If they do wristbands at wdw they will most likey limit the locations to one store/park(or dtd) selling the pins. Thats how they consolidated at DL.
