I can't wait to get mine! I'm so excited I was thinking that she would look even better in real person compared to the photos online. They always do.

Congrats on getting her, I am sure it is an amazing doll!

Wow! Thanks so much for sharing. I am really impressed by the dress - it looks so much better than the stock images. And it is great that she feels like she is made of porcelain - the stock photos did give the impression that she had a glazed surface like she was really a china doll. I can't wait so see mine in person - she is due to arrive next Wednesday. You are so lucky to get yours so soon.

Are you going to debox her? I am really curious about the articulation and how posable she is.

I can't believe this but someone has just listed this doll for sale on eBay as a BIN for $800!! Unbelievable and they posted that they have two for sale! That's a little crude that is 4x more than its original cost, hopefully no one will be suckered into buying one for that much!

HOLY COW BABYDOLL!!!! That's a nightmare! I'm surprised their rough handling didn't break her. They would have probably just put her back in the box, shipped her to your house, and then said that's how they found her.
That's insane about your witches too. I only ordered the 2 wicked witches. I hope mine arrive looking like the stock photos. The post office needs to just handle things with care. I used to trade vinymations by mail and some of the boxes were just beaten up. PLUS! Now the US postal service doesn't work Saturdays? Hopefully they just use their days of rest to the fullest so they handle our packages better. An opened Glinda doll though. That's just ridiculous. I would be so angry.

That's so cool! I didn't realize you were in Australia as well Babydoll! I just booked my tickets to go back to Disney this year so I can't wait!!

Thank you so much for letting me know about customs opening your box I will make sure that I take that into account. That has happened to me before. They opened my LE Buzz and Woody dolls and sliced the box and they also tore the slip case for my LE Pochaontas designer doll which I was devastated about so I know how you feel.

In relation to the ebay seller since they are in the US I am pretty sure they got free shipping to get the doll as Disney is still doing the $75 or more free shipping promo. Either way it is still a ridiculous price increase and isn't fair to those that are genuine collectors.

Omg she's stunning!!! Your photos look so much better than the website ones did baby doll, I wish she had have been available in the uk and I would have snapped her up!!!!!!! I'm sooo envious!!! Xx

I think so, LE dolls have been really hot lately, sadly though, a lot of ebayers buy to resell, and us genuine collectors have to make sure we get in super fast before hand!! I hope she will be in the UK but I fear not, even though the demands ddefinitely here, the LE Alice and queen of hearts dolls were not avail here....I hope she is though, I wonder how many ££ that would equate to here in uk. Xx

LE China Girl 19'' Doll - Deboxing

Limited Edition China Girl 19'' Doll
Based on a character from Oz The Great and Powerful.
US Disney Store
$179.50
Released online February 4, 2013.
Purchased online February 4, 2013.
Received February 13, 2013.
#297 of 500

She is unlike any other LE doll released by the Disney Store. She is larger at 19'' (more precisely 18.5''), rather than the usual 17''. She is also made of resin, rather than plastic (vinyl). Because she is resin, she has less articulation than the other dolls of the series, having only neck, shoulder and hip joints. The shoulder and hip joints are ball joints, but are spring loaded, which is also unique for a Disney LE doll. She comes in a very large custom box measuring 22'' x 15'' x 8'', and weighing 9 lbs 6 oz. The shipping weight was 13 lbs 6 oz. Her only accessory is a custom display stand with a wooden base. She is a very accurate replica of the China Doll character from the upcoming Disney movie Oz The Great and Powerful. Although most of the main characters in the movie are live action characters, the China Girl is CGI. The surface of the doll is glazed, so she looks just as though she were really made of porcelain. There is also simulated crazing (fine cracks in the surface), and larger deeper cracks showing where the doll was broken before being fixed by Oscar Diggs (the Wizard of Oz). Her outfit consists of a silver lacey dress with a light blue satin layer underneath. Around her waist is a blue and silver striped satin sash with a bow in the back. She also has white satin bloomers with blue trim. She is a very heavy doll, weighing in a 3 lbs 10 oz, or 4 lbs 8 oz with the display stand. She can free stand, but as she is top heavy and has narrow feet, she isn't that stable. So the display stand is definitely recommended for displaying her safely.

Photographs of my LE China Girl 19'' Doll boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed. Also posed with other dolls in my collection.

LE China Girl 19'' Doll - Deboxed

Photos of my Limited Edition 19'' China Girl doll after she is fully deboxed. There were no packaging restraints on the doll since she was laying in a custom styrofoam case. So it was easy to debox her, just by carefully lifting out her of the styrofoam. She is not very stable free standing, as she has narrow feet and is top heavy, so she is best displayed supported by her custom doll stand.

DRJ1828 - Beautiful photos as always! She's gorgeous and I have fallen in love with her, but I missed her for the second (!!) time. :( *sigh* I'll just have to stare at your photos of her instead.

I finally got my LE china doll in the mail today!! At this moment in time my LE set is comete! Yay! I'm so excited, I can't wait to move house and display all my dolls! I will have to take pictures. When I have my entire set on display!!

Babydoll, my doll came in fine, the outer protective box was torn but the actual doll itself was not opened so I think it got through customs ok.

Im so excited! I am finally moving to a bigger place so will finally be able to display my complete set! I will def post pics!

Glad to see she was back, as I was not able to get her before. Thanks all for the information and the beautiful photo's!!

BTW she is still available. Which is interesting to me as a limited edition of 500 is small.

Wow, those pictures do really put the actual size of her in to perspective! I thought she was same height as the 17" dolls boy was I wrong!!! Am defo wanting her now.....I will just have to hope she comes to the uk site, as, as much as I'd love to buy her on .com I cannot afford the ridiculous postage and customs charges on top of that....here's hoping :x:

This is what they replied to me:

Oh, so the UK Disney Store is selling the Tollytots 14'' China Girl doll. Over here in the US, it is being sold by Target and Toys R Us. Are those also available online in the UK?
And I just saw that you added Theodora. That is also by Tollytots. Is that also being sold by Disney Store UK right now?

They didn't have Theodora, this was a photo i took from the back of the china girl. That's explain why the china girl box is full of stickers, to cover the original maker. To be honest i don't know if we are going to get her and they are not for sale on the website yet.
