So I had recently posted a (grails) sales thread to help pay for a spontaneous purchase I made with the help of Bob of catburger... and it was for this:

Bob had the funds readily available to make the purchase and did, so all I had to do was pay him back. Rather than have me wait for the holiest of grails, he gave me their extra Up Marquee and would just wait for the one purchased to arrive to serve as their extra...

Well that day was yesterday... And the Up Marquee was MISSING! :eek2:

So to make a long, complicated and devastating story short, I returned their extra Marquee (as the one I was supposed to get never got to me) and now am no longer an owner of the much coveted Up Marquee. :(

Oh well.
 
Oh no marvyn, that's awful. I'm sooo sorry for you. I know how precious this pin is as it's my ultimate grail too...is there any chance in it turning up, I hope you're not out of pocket. These pins aren't cheap. I will keep my fingers crossed for you xxx
 
how did it not "show up" is it missing in the mail. just wondering because I had a pin not show up recently. It was not exspensive like this. This is terrible.
 
im so sorry for all 3 of you.. THE MOST AWFUL THING TO HAPPEN TO WONDERFUL PEOPLE. Such an amazing thing for Bob and Cat to do and so SUCKY it didn't go smoothly. im so gutted for you all. :( i wish i could do something to make it magically better. and for you both have a marquee :( or hunt down this lost marquee. one day i'm sure you will have one of your own. and it will stay with you FOREVER AND ALWAYS
 
The package arrived in a small flat rate USPS Priority Mail box but the Up Marquee wasn't in there. There was a thank you pin and some extra pin backs, but NO UP MARQUEE! Starting to think someone got hold of the package along the delivery path and the rest is history.

Yes, how did it just go missing, did the trader not send it insured/traceable? I'm so sorry for you, tone sooo close to owning the marquee, and bob and cat were sooo great to try help, it's an awful ending to such a promising story :(
 
The past 2 days was a reminder of how unreliable our gov't services are sometimes. I called the postal station where the package was last at before it was sent out to us. The MANAGER said he would call me back when he speaks with the person who delivered our package. THE MANAGER was about to hang up before even asking for my contact info! I had to say "oh wait, hold on!, dont you need my number??"

Absolutely disgusted. Now im making my Years mission or however long it takes to fulfill my nice deed to my best bud Marvyn "Dalakersrnumba1" I'll find you your grail my friend.
 
So wait, we know for sure the marquee was in there? Who originally mailed it? Bob? Then it was not there when it was delivered? Did the box look opened? Did it maybe come unsealed along the way?
 
OH how horrible! I AM SOOOOO SORRY! WOW. that so sucks.. My heart hurts for you!

............On the bright side.. um.... I'm tryin here!

But seriously.. don't loose hope. I hope you could get the $$ back and that your grail finds it way home to you soon. So sorry.
 
You have been so kind and sweet to me, and reading this made me really sad.

If it was an Ebay purchase, I hope that Bob can get his money back.
 
There is no way to really find out. To be honest, I think the seller never sent the pin, cause it was the BIN from eBay, and then 2 more sold for higher prices right after. The pin was taking too long to ship so perhaps the seller wanted to hold onto their pin cause of the price jump and sent a box without ever sending the pin, and figured eBay buyer protection would refund the money so there wouldn't be any harm done. Anyway that's my sour 2 cents. Can't let this kill me forever... it's just a darn pin!

OMG Marvyn that sucks so much! So sorry to hear this... This isn't fair for you. There has to be something eBay can do!

I am really sorry for the frustration you had to go through.

I am on Ebay A LOT. I will be on the look out, just give me a $$ upper limit.

I really don't know how it works but this is so sad.

Sooo sorry to hear this. I have to say that while checking feedback recently I saw more than one seller with feedback that said that
The seller never sent the pin, just an empty box/envelope. Keep your head up, maybe it will happen for less?
 
This is so devastating. Some people are downright terrible. We hope you at least get your money back and hopefully, soon, you'll have it in your possession :)!
