USPS Lost ANOTHER Pin... What to Do?
Oh no, I hope you get it! It's not nice having a lost pin. I had one stolen out of a package.

I would be livid and I would stand down there until they checked every shelf there. I hope she insured it. Don't give up yet. But I am sorry you have to stress about this.

USPS sucks big fat hairy balls. Seriously. Stuff like this happens ALL.THE.TIME. and then they wonder why they are in touble. YOU didn't decide where the cut offs were for distribution....how ridiculous!

J'aimie, I do hope it gets resolved!

A friend of mine just had a pin show up after three months. So I'm hoping that my two that have never shown up may still have a chance...

I am really sorry about your pin and like everyone else has said don't give up. I got a package months later when it said it was already delivered. I believe you can contact Consumer Reports or some name like that about, it thats what the post office customer service told me when they lost my package. I really hope they find your pin and get it safetly to you.

Don't let the PO . BS you , the delivery slip they left you ,tells what Po tryed to deliver it and wil have the post persons name or ID numder on it , when you go to your Po ask to talk to the head of the branch.
When they tell you your mail can come ether PO said show them the slip that says it came for this PO.
Hope you can get your pins.

Thanks, everyone. It's 4:30pm here in New Hampshire - the post office promised me a phone call by 5:00p. No updates yet. I appreciate all the well wishes and guidance, but for now I remain ... frustrated.

Update: last for tonight, I promise. I contacted the eBay seller asking for assistance and called the distribution center. Guy on the other end of the phone told me to not call them, they would call me and that the package is still in fact lost. I am totally and utterly crushed and feeling so frustrated and helpless right now...

Yet another great argument for continuing to subsidize and support this outdated government agency which is used almost exclusively to turn trees in to trash or recycling material. We pay our bills online. The stuff we buy (a lot of Amazon) comes UPS. We get junk mail, catalogs, etc. in US mail. I could live without it.

I am really sorry to hear about your lost pin. Keep harassing them though. I sent a pin to a lady many moons ago that got lost some place in her postal office. She harassed them every single day for 2 weeks until they finally found it.

So sorry for the hassle USPS is putting you through again, J'aimie!! >.< I wish I could be of help but definitely hoping this all gets resolved for you soon!!!

J'aimie. DO NOT GIVE UP! keep pestering. when in doubt. PESTER THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS outta em! its THEIR fault! not YOURS! its up to THEM! you do not give up you pester and you bug! this is one of your final few.

its going to be ok :( i promise you!!!!

not only is it their fault... It's their JOB to deliver mail, it's what they are paid to do!!! It's like asking them to take one second extra to look at an address or not smash or break items.

I really hope they find your pin!

Told you not to call them?! Ha BS. I'd be calling them 5 times a day now after that comment. They need to stop being lazy and actually put some effort into looking for it. They're probably just going on a "Let's wait until it turns up" attitude instead of actively working on it.

Hang in there sweetie....It sounds to me like they are being lazy.....it IS there at the post office!... you received the little slip! Are you able to talk to your mailperson? if so I would ask him directly about it, who knows... it might have gotten left in his truck by accident or he might know where it was placed when he took it back to the post office. I think it's worth a shot anyway. I have waited at the post office for an hour before while they looked for my little package that was miss shelved and pushed behind all of the bigger packages (I am willing to bet that is what happened to yours) I was very lucky that my post office was willing to take the time to look for it. I hope this all gets sorted out for you soon....big hugs till then

Augh, you guys are just the best people. <3 Thank you all for your thoughts and best wishes. Here's an update from today:

eBay seller has been contacted and is one of the sweetest people I've ever engaged with on eBay. She's part of the community so she knows the value and personal attachment we each have to our collections, and she was very helpful in all of this. She has contacted her post office and my two post offices to figure this all out. Unfortunately, still no resolution, except that if it doesn't turn up in five days (at her USPS's suggestion), she will be filing the insurance claim and refunding me my money. The attempted delivery was exactly one week ago. I have one more week to wait it out.

If they find it, I get my pin. If they don't find it, I get my money. If they find it after the claim has been issued and I've been refunded, the seller gets the pin and will, god willing, sell it back to me. But she seems so sweet and honest, so I guess I just have to be patient and wait it out. So, SO frustrated and disappointed right now.

Having said that, is anyone selling this pin? I'd feel awesome knowing that there was a backup in place if it's really gone. I'm so close to the end of this collection, and I don't want to lose the progress I've made because of the USPS...

Thanks, everyone. You've been a tremendous support group.

FWIW, I think this is exactly what's happened. I haven't spoken with my mail person yet - hoping to catch her tomorrow, since she usually delivers while I'm at work. When they lost the shadowbox with the Chair pin, it had been misplaced on the wrong shelf and it took them a WEEK to figure that out. I've begged the postmaster to please check EVERY shelf, and the distribution center is closed to the public so I can't go there. I can only protest at the consumer Spring Street location and raise hell there. :(

The good news is that the seller was able to provide a very thorough description of the package to the post office so hopefully that helps the process. It's in a regular 5" x 7" bubble envelope, so it's not even like it was that tiny...

Also: <3

We've had issues lately with our USPS also...not our "regular" guy, but with the relief people. I get mail delivered that belongs to other people, they send mine (my address is 886) to 866, or to the same house number on a different street (with a street name that isn't even CLOSE to mine!) and all sorts of issues. Thankfully, my neighbors are honest. The worst part of it is that the retailer had it showed as "delivered" so they weren't going to do anything (and I don't blame them!). I'd complain like crazy to the manager, and add insurance wherever possible.

I would like to label this as, "The Young and The Post Office" cuz you got one complicated post office! Dang. I'm so sorry...I never knew the border of New Hanpshire and Massachusetts was a black hole for important mail. Yes, I agree a move to Florida will be the better solution :D

My wife got her purse today. She called the distribution center in Colorado yesterday and spoke with a very sweet young lady. She said she would flag it and correct the zip code. Debi called her, her special angel of mercy. We were shocked when it showed up on the porch. So, dear lost sun princess, chin up, no giving up. Just keep calling!
