I am having a hard time understanding why people have tons of time to browse the forum, create threads, post comments and sell pins but they won't take the time to leave feedback. I have made 7 trades but only have 3 feedbacks. The trades have gone well. I rush my package to the post office. When my package comes, I PM the person to thank them for the pin and tell them "I will leave you feedback right now". I don't get any in return. How can I build my trading status if I don't get the feedback I deserve? :(

do you send it with reciept read? there is a box under the messag portion to check it. I think it makes people more aware that the person has seen that they left feedback. I know I am not the best at it. But I have tried to keep up with on here and that always puts a fire under my butt. lol

I totally agree. Feedback validates you as a pin collector especially here on the forums. What I've come to find out is that I can't really expect anything out of people these days. It isn't a requirement to leave feedback, but it is courteous. I would say be patient till you do receive feedback or ask them directly because some people don't automatically know to give feedback to a person while to us it is second nature to do so.

Hope that helped. Best of luck to you!

Definitely! This is great advice.

when i leave feedback for someone i always also write to the via PM or visitor message, thanking them and stating im leaving feedback and ask they do the same asap. yehhhh good luck.

Thanks for the good advice. I did send a PM once and nicely asked the person to give me feedback at their convenience but I never got it. Not much a person can do after that.

If you have tracking on your package, verify with the post office that it says "delivered" (for what that's worth). Then a few days later, send a PM, advising him or her that it appears they got the package and ask if they would please leave positive feedback. Sometimes, some people (like me) hold onto packages for a week (til the weekend) before opening them, etc. Obviously, one won't leave feedback til one opens the package.

I've had this happen many times and there isn't much you can do, but please don't let it discourage you from trading! I have also asked people if an opportunity to trade came up again if they were not satisfied with our previous trade since they didn't leave feedback. I've been told it wasn't intentional, just an oversight. They left feedback and we also traded again. I would hope that if there is something wrong or if someobdy I trade with isn't happy about something that they would let me know instead of just not leaving feedback. I would like to remedy any bad situation if possible and if I need to improve on something, I would like to know:)

Send a friendly reminder that everything was great on your end,I left you a ref here on DPF!I would appreciate it if you would do the same...that should do it..

I always do that, even though I have alot of refs, everyone counts if you wanna trade or buy from someone...

I would think that if you sent a note saying that you're brand new here, and you're trying to build up your feedback score they might see the importance of leaving feedback. I hope this helps.

Speaking as an absent minded one, sometimes we just forget and I know I do not mind a prod every now and then if I totally forgot.

I totally suck at giving feedback! If someone does not give me feedback either I am okay with that too. If anyone wants me to give them feedback for a trade we have made in the past please let me know. I do about 4 trades a week and forget who I have given to and who I have not given to.

Don't forget that leaving feedback is a choice. It isn't a mandatory part of a trade or sale. I realize that you take the time to make sure that you go back and take care of it right away, but others might not be able to do so.

I know I ALWAYS forget. Often, if I receive a reminder, I will remember to go do so. Between private trades on pinpics and DPF, I often forget where which trade came from also. I do not keep an additional list of trades outside of emails so I do not have a list to reference.

I think the suggestion to remind someone that you are trying to build references here at DPF and would be appreciated will be effective and useful for you.

Hi Sue!! I still need to leave you feedback. I usually leave feedback for everyone I've traded with in one sitting, rather than each one at a time because I have my mail sent to a PO Box and only pick up the mail once, and sometimes twice, each week. I just got your package this weekend even though I know it arrived early last week. As of now, I need to leave feedback for about 5-6 people so I'll do that today or tomorrow. Maybe that's a bad habit but it's also how I do it on ebay because then I'm sure not to miss someone. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you!! :)

The idea of giving someone a friendly reminder nudge is good. I certainly don't mind and it doesn't hurt to send a second message. I've done that before and got feedback and other times, the person never responded and I didn't get feedback (both here on DPF and on Dizpins references).

Reminders are always good. I always forget things like that so I don't mind being reminded. Also, if you're dealing with a newbie, maybe including instructions on how to provide feedback is a good idea.

+1 on the suggestion that you mention you're new and every additional feedback helps...I used to do this all the time.

No, feedback isn't required, but I think it's a part of courteous trading. Many of us have been 'burned' in a bad trade, so it's important to leave feedback to help other traders know that someone has been a reliable trader in the past. When I make a trade on DPF, I also offer to leave a Dizpins reference if the other member wants to give me his/her email address, and I ask the other member to do the same for me. I also leave feedback for PIF's ...I know it isn't required, but I figure it serves the same purpose - to let other members know that this person can be trusted to follow through on a commitment.

I'm terrible at remembering all the details of a trade, keeping track of which trades I've received, when I mailed my pins, whether I've left feedback, etc. etc. I made up a very simple chart template that I print and keep in a binder...I fill in the blanks by hand as I deal with each trade...that way the information is all in one place, and I can go back and 'catch up' on feedback if I haven't had a chance to do it for a couple weeks. It's very easy to do, and it saves me tons of time that I would otherwise spend looking for PM's/emails about trade details, looking for shipping receipts, etc.

im new to this site, if i trade a pin with someone, where do you leave or post the references. Ive always done the dizpins reference boards, but nothing else. can someone enlighten me with this information. Thanks ErWings

Go to the person's profile page and click on Feedback Score, then click on "Submit feedback..."

I appreciate all the comments. When I first joined the forum, I was told it was good to try and build a good trading score by making trades and getting good feedbacks. I guess I assumed that everyone on the forum was on the same page and that feedbacks would be part of each trade. It's the right thing to do in my opinion. I now see that assumption was wrong. I am not angry at people....I just wanted to understand the process better. Now I know. Thanks.
