I have had several let downs with pin pics TA this week that I just wanted to vent about for a sec. I keep getting requests and accepting them and then the requester never responds to my accept message. OR even worse we write back and forth, organizing elaborate multi-trades and after all is accepted I send them my address, but they never send me their address. Um...hello? :poke: Where'd you go??? lol I'm sure they all just got better offers for what they had offered me, but I wish they would let me know so I could feel free to try and make other trades with those pins. I know these things happen but it's been several in row lately... No pins are coming and my mailbox is having withdrawals! :anxious:

aww sorry to hear this, best of luck with your future trades...you may have better luck posting a trading thread here on the forum and organising trades that way....I'm sending you good pin karma and lots of pixie dust :) x

I just wish people would reply to my pinpics trade requests! "No, thanks" or "Not interested" are not too time-consuming to type.

I think at this point when I do trade through pinpics, I trade with the same people... most of whom are on DPF! There was someone who was nice enough to respond with polite rejections to 5 of my requests, which was still so much better than wondering if someone would get back to me a week later.

I'm thinking of starting a few trade threads on DPF myself, people just aren't as responsible when it comes to email! >_<

PS if your mailbox is empty... you can sign up for my game!!! It's really cheap to enter and there's a PODM at stake? *runs away* Sorry for advertising, but I reaaaaally want to fill in my game... It feels so close now!

I completely agree! I dislike it greatly when they don't even respond with a nice "No Thank You" so I make it a policy to try to respond to everyone. I'll admit though that I can't remember any recently, but there have been times where I'm so busy that I just delete it, completely forgetting to send a response :(

It is rather rude to make a completed deal except for the exchange of addresses and then juset simply not respond again. Were it just one person, I'd say it could be any number of things. In fact I had one once who I had the same thing happen with, except that a couple of weeks later the pins we had agreed upon showed up in my mail. Seems they had just forgotten to send their address and I thought they had decided to say no. Good thing was that I still had the ones they wanted and sent them as now I had their return address on the LBE lol. Emailed them anyway and explained and they were a bit red-faced and understanding that theirs would be late.

The worst type to me are the ones who send you a TA and when you respond that yes, you would love to make the trade, they act as if you sent them the request and were insulting them with it. Apparently, accepting a trade too fast or with too much enthusiasm gives some the idea that their pin was worth more than they thought, and that it couldn't possibly be a good deal for them if accepted. Don't go looking for prices on everything, have an idea what you like and what you would give up to get it and if it fits in these criteria, then go for it. Spend all day searching out the values of pins, and eventually that's all you will be doing instead of trading, lol. You win some, you lose some, that's how it works, but in the end it usually balances out.

As for those who want to instantly renegotiate an accpetance of their offer, those are the type who deserve no response, but I still say thanks but no thanks. I have no problem accepting a no if I happen to go overboard, so I don't have a problem saying no either. You make a deal, great; you don't make a deal, move on to the next one. It's not personal, it's just trading!

The best type of "rejection" response is a counteroffer. :) I always try to find something I could trade with a person because I think trading is the most fun part of all. I don't harp too much on getting a perfectly even exchange as long as I like the pins I am offered and it's usually easy to find stuff we like since a lot of our collections are the pins others are happy to trade away.

Poohs makes a good point, maybe I sound too eager when I respond! Ha! I never thought about "playing it cool!" I am usually like "Yes! I would LOVE to trade!" even if it isn't the best pin I ever saw just because I want to be friendly and polite. I know online trading doesn't necessarily have to involve small talk and pleasantries but since I live in NC I don't get to trade in person much. And since I homeschool 3 kids all day I admit I am a little starved for adult conversation at times. Sometimes I even tell people why I like a pin, etc. Wow, I must sound like a dork! lol! :) I guess I need to work on my poker face...:|

I know most of my pins are pretty common traders so a lot of people with "better" pins won't want to waste their time and I get that, but in a few months I'll go back to WDW and hopefully get some good stuff that will make more people want to trade with me. (I sound like one of those "...but I'm drinking milk! And someday..." commercials from the 80s/90s! lol) I only have a few LE pins now and I feel like I need to save them in case a really good offer comes along although I admit I'm not even really sure what that would be because I'm not sure how much what I have is worth (how's that for a poker face?). My main grail pins have "0 trading" :( so I am mostly focusing on stuff that is easier to find right now. I did get a couple of offers last night (Woohoo! The Pixie Dust is working!) so I think the mailbox will be happy soon!

I'm sorry to hear that so many DPF members have had interactions with such inconsiderate traders on PinPics. I have yet to do my first trade through PinPics, and I'm a bit nervous about it now. I just had a couple questions: What is an LBE? Is there a list of questionable/unpleasant traders on PinPics somewhere in the forums here? Or is there a feedback system? Sorry for my naivete. Thanks in advance.

LBE is for Little Brown Envelope. :) Don't let my venting make you nervous about Pin Pics trading... Even though a few people have left me hanging lately I still have had a lot of great trades. I don't know if there is a list of negative feedback, but you can see how many references a person has on Dizpins.com. Of course, not having references doesn't mean someone is a bad trader- They could just be new.

I hate when people don't leave you a reference. That just stinks!
