Dreams Came True All Over the Place!
I can't stop grinning.
Some of you may remember my post over a month ago about the USPS losing my Tangled Opening Day pin. I bought it on eBay from an amazing seller who is part of the pin community. I put in a best offer and she miraculously accepted it, shipped it, and then the USPS lost the package. To date, the first pin is still missing, but the seller issued me a speedy full refund and kept communication open, contacting her post office and mine for two weeks trying to locate the missing package.
She took it a step further: She put out trade requests with some heavy hitting pins from her own collection to try to find me a replacement. In the mean time, Darris and Angie started sending out trade requests, friends were watching eBay for me, and I was doing everything I could to cross this pin off my wants list for good.
About two weeks ago, the seller sent me a message saying that her trade request had been accepted and: "You have a very good friend in California." Moments after receiving that message, our beloved Queen of the Banned, Marisa sent me a text for my mailing address. Marisa was the trader!
Today I picked up my beloved "cursed" pin. This is attempt #6 -- finally succesful. Currently, the pin is sitting in front of my keyboard at work, and it won't leave my sight until it's finally in a shadowbox home. This pin means the world to me because I worked so hard for it, lost it so many times, and finally with the work of so many dear friends, it made its way to me.
For everyone who encouraged me to just be patient and not lose hope -- thank you. For everyone who offered to help me find her -- thank you. I am so glad to be down to my last seven. This is an AMAZING feeling!!
