i get a ton of lousy offers for some of my pins

for

Pin 90265: DSF - Avengers Movie Release Comic Book Covers - Iron Man

its funny but still kinda lame haha
i was curious to know if anyone has actually traded via pinpics only

I have, but your bound to get lopsided trade offers. Sometimes people will go for it and other times they don't. My new phrase is "the world is a tough trade these days."

I trade via Pinpics all the time, of course the ratio of actual trades completed to the number of trade offers received is low. But its great for those of us that cant get to events.

I found a grail via pin pics, but it wasn't through the automated trade assistant. But yeah I got some dumb offers when I had a UK Kevin.... Hidden mickeys, no thank you.

I would say for every successful trade I complete through Pinpics; there would've been at least 15 "no thank you"s, maybe 30 trade requests I refused and maybe even fifty trade requests I never hear anything from.
Pinpics is very useful though: for those of us who aren't close to Disney its one of the main ways we trade & also it was through a Pinpics trade with our very own Judy that I was introduced to this forum :D

I do a lot more through pin pics. As with everyone you have to sift through them, because there are reasons most times. Eg there new, opportunists, people thinking your new to take advantage. But you can do a lot of trades as the majority do use pinpics

I think when Figgy and Brit left PinPics, so did a lot of traders. I also believe all the talk of changing PinPics and the way it works also made a lot of traders leave. Add to this the nonsense of encapsulating and grading pins as now suggested by the new owners of PinPics and you're left with what we have now. PinPics used to be a great source for aquiring pins but I would not trust that now. To many new traders not being able to tell scrappers from authentic pins and far to many lop sided trade requests have less and less people using PinPics to aquire pins.

PinPics itself is not the problem...it is the people that use it. Many lopsided requests come from individuals who use the automated trade assist and don't review and edit their pending trade requests. Others come from individuals who want your pin, but don't have equitable matches from your wants list and are interested in opening trade dialogue. Of course there will always be a few that try to capitalize on a lopsided offer.

We have made approximately 600 trades through PinPics in less than three years...so to answer your question, YES, it does work. It just takes a little patience.

I wrote a whole detailed response and the site went down...so ill just say yes. Yes i trade about 200x a year and half are from pinpics and i have made tons of friends through it as well. In brief you cant take everything so personal. people may just click everything cause they dont know about pins alt (i did this) others may just think you may really want a pin and kinds just go for it!
I always take time to go into everybodies ID to see if we can amend the trade/make it a double/add a pin etc. I get great results. I also am pretty flexible and i find all in all it work out. I have a wicked pin collection. PIN KARMA

I have been offered some really bizarre trades also on Pinpics. I always ask them if they are on the Forum and tell them I only trade through the Forum. I have heard some negative feedback about trading on Pinpics so I don't do it.

I do 95% of my pin trading thru PinPics (the rest here). If you know your pins, ask the right questions, make sure people have good feedback, ect, I don't think you'll have a problem.

I have never traded anywhere else. I do get lopsided offers but I do occasionally send them too. My reasoning is that I will give it a shot, and you never know how much a "less valuable" pin actually means to someone if its not available any more. Of course not the "hidden mickey" for "super grail" type trades but some uneven ones do work out because its all about the value to the people involved

I do quite a bit through pinpics. I have only been scammed once and it was early on. Still kinda rankles but I am more careful now. :)

It's been a while since I've traded through pinpics. I do send offers out from time to time, mainly to open up dialogue. Don't get insulted, there is no way to click on multiple pins and say you'll do all these pins for one of yours, etc.

I trade mainly here and PinTalk. :)

It is possible to trade with pinpics?
I don't know this...
How works?
Someone can tell me?
Thanks

In the beginning I only traded at the parks and through pin pics. We didn't really set up trades on dizpins much. I've made trades for hundreds of pins via pin pics. When you are new, you check everything you have for what you want, not realizing how lopsided the trade offer is. Some people will ignore you or say no thank you. Some people will look at your traders and see if there is something there they can work with you on to get you the pin you want. I'm like that a lot if the pin they are asking for is on I purchased as a trader and not a high end pin. I think a lot of people forget in their quest for just their "wants" that it's not only about them - the hobby is called pin *trading* and as long as you get an equal trader why not make someone else happy. So yeah, pin pics rocks.

For your own understanding of how not to send uneven trades, be sure to go to the mypinpics page and look at the link that says Click here to view your current pending trade requests. You can view your requests and who they are to (unless they are anonymous). You can uncheck uneven trades or people you know have already declined trades from you. It's something everyone doesn't know about and if they did there would be far fewer problems and non-responses.

Add your pins available for trade and the pins that you want. You will find these links at the bottom of all pin listings. "Add to wants list" and "Add to trades list". Also, at the bottom of all pin listings, you will see "What can I trade to get this pin" and "What can I get for trading this pin".Clicking those options will take you to screens where you can then select what pin(s) you would like to trade. You can also set up trade requests by clicking "My Pin Pics" on the left side of the screen. You can then select "Click here to locate pins you could trade now" or "Click here to locate pins you could receive now", and select the trades you are interested in. Review your pending trades following the directions listed in the above post by lovethatpooh.

Because most of my pins are lower end (but not scrappers), I do most of my trading on pinpics. Yes, you get lots of no responses and stuff but it is what it is and I have some awesome pins thanks to the trade assistant. :)

I've been trading on Pin pics since 2004. Just a small # of scammed trades in 9 yrs. Yes, there are weird lopsided offers, but also good fair ones too. I love it :)

I have met most of the people here on pinpics trading through the years. It does seem like there are more and more lopsided pin offers lately though. Like anything worthwhile, you have to put in an effort to make good trades.
