Marquee's on eBay
Wouldn't they go for more if they was seperate? Someone may want to pay top price for maybe just one as they might not want/need any others?

I don't see any problem about bringing this up in a forum. It's a pin forum to talk about pins. And so that's what we are doing :)

I would be more inclined to believe your assertion that this was not a hype thread if your original post did not end in "grabs popcorn."

ClanMcDuck, I know the feeling why have such an expensive hobby, but thank god I have a great paying job and a great paying hobby not only Disney Pins I collect I also blue print race motors on the side when I am free. As a UPS driver I get no free time LOL, but when I am able to build a motor I out of the pocket 4-5 thousand for parts and machine them, but then I turn around and sell the motor for 8 to 15 thousand so theres my pin funds. But yes pin collecting is an expensive hobby

wow! That's pretty awesome. Yeah, I knew as soon as I saw marquee pins that I wanted them in my life. I also had a sneaking feeling they would be pricey. Makes me think about all the Tangled collectors. I feel for them...

They are only expensive because everyone goes crazy over them. Supply and demand. It will eventually die out and people will be left with 2K worth of colored metal. It is just mind boggling how one thinks they are worth this money...gross!

This listing just won't come up for me. (Occasionally listings won't appear to me here in Canada, even though I'm on ebay.com and searching worlwide. It's a royal pain in the a**, especially because those same listings later do appear in completed sales ...just realized this week that I completely missed a Gomes Maleficent auction that sold for just under $200.)

Would someone please PM me the link? ...gonna put some popcorn in the microwave

Exactly. I believe currently there are newish (1-2yrs) traders that are willing to throw big money at pins they want. They inflate the prices of these pins that for years held their reasonable prices. Just as quickly as they come, buy big, they leave and try to sell their expensive pins. Traders that have been around for a while can see this and it's just tearing this hobby up. I've been a member of this site since day#2 lol and a member of Dizpins before that. I've been trading for 10 years and I have never seen anything like what is going on with pins right now and it is just very sad! I think threads like these fuel that fire. It might not just be actual collectors trying to obtain those marquees but also people with ill intentions just trying to raise the price to see what it would go for. I would rather miss out on a grail that someone else was able to obtain at a 'reasonable' price then to have to compete for it and as always lose to those willing to OVER PAY for them. Gross.

I wonder if the guy had a BIN like he has for most of his Disney pin listings....kind of like the DA Princess Carousels from a month or so ago.

OMG, actually just seen its at $3000 with 3 days to go??!!!! OMG surely you're a lot cheaper buying them individually, even at $800 a piece for the up and tangled say....that's still an awful lot for the other 2.....hmmmm...
