Take a look at the bid history, including the automatic bids. You can see that retracted bids have played a major part in raising the price.

Also, one of the early bidders has only 1 feedback, as a buyer from this same seller.

Clearly there was some heat of the moment bidding going on because no way are those pins worth 3k. I also think that people get suspicious when they see 100% activity with the same seller, which coincidentally is what the lead bidder has.

I would make a side wager that these will be listed again by the same seller in the very near future.

So $1680 it is. In the end whatever happened backfired for the seller. Congrats to being smart in your eBay purchases. I think this thread was certainly helpful in allowing us all to better discern what was going on in this auction.

yup yup.....I will be interested to see what these go for....for "real" when they are re-listed. Perhaps separately? We shall see.....
