Finally a picture! :)

From the waist up I think she looks gorgeous (love her face, hair, and shell in hair)...but I am not quite sold on her tail yet. And is does look like there is a gold prop of some sort in her hand that we can't see.

Also...it is hard to tell, but is she sitting on a stand? It looks like there is a rod or something on the left side of her. If so...I don't really like how that looks in the box (and in that case wish they didn't put her in mermaid form).

Overall, I think she is pretty...but I still would have liked her better in one of her human looks...and I am not loving how they are deviating further and further away from movie-inspired colors (why couldn't they have done this same type of "look" in purple and green?)

I would still love to see some close-ups of the outfit/fabric details and her eyelashes, but from my initial viewing of her I think she is beautiful, but not quite what I had imagined they would come up with. :)
 
I do think she is holding a fork in her hand, Meghan.
She is very...dark! Overall I am shocked to see how dark her look is. I have to say, I am stunned that she is in mermaid form! Gorgeous, though. I can't wait to order her! Ursula is going to look killer next to her.
 
It IS a lot of hair for Ariel- and the stylistic choices on her look are very different... She looks darker and a little glammed up. I'm not sure why they didn't make her seashells purple.
While from this distance I like the unique and abstract design of her tail- almost like seaweed- I wish they had managed to keep the "v" around her waist. The flower is kinda chunky-looking. I think the shell belt is cute though. I wish we could see her fins. And I do hope she has a dinglehopper; that would be the perfect touch.
I love the background and the overall look of the box. But as PrincessBecky said, if there is a visible display stand, that might take away from the overall look. From this first look though- even though it deviates a bit from Ariel's movie appearance, she looks really pretty.

I think the stand will be shoved up inside her tail, and only visible at the bottom. But perhaps her fins are massive and can cover it? It may be some sort of two-pronged design for hiding it? I hope there is something for the collectors who debox! That would be an eyesore other wise.

I also hope the seashell bra color is just deviated because of the filter on the camera photo. I am hoping it is at least the sickly purple color of DV Ursula's skin. There has to be at least a tint of purple on them haha. She is rather abstract, so I cannot wait to see how abstract Ursula is in return.
 
For a first look/leaked image, she is pretty stunning so far. I'm excited to see the details up close in further images.

They must have decided on the mermaid look, as her "Designer Couples" version will probably be in a dress. Ursula also seems much more likely now.

I totally agree with all of the comments so far. I do like the fact that they did chose her mermaid form, seeing as that is what she really is, despite the missed opportunities for making a few gorgeous gowns for LE Ariel. The visible doll stand is an eyesore. For deboxers, perhaps one could cover up the stand by draping a nice fabric as a "seat" behind Ariel and in front of the stand. Her tail... well... it's really hard to see what is going on in there, but as she is posed at an angle, there is a lot more fabric in the bottom right corner than is clearly visible to me. The layers of "petals" on her tail look disturbing in this picture, but maybe it will look better in person. As for her hair part being on the wrong side (again), it all boils down to the side effects of last year's "new look" (again). I am so going to have to reposition her head, because I like my dolls looking more toward the front of the box.

That was my thinking as well PhoenixKing. I love her hair. It is so beautiful. I do hope her top has at least a hint of purple as well.
 
Thankyou for the images! My first impressions, for now, is that I like her face and long loose hair! Her tail looks sort of covered in dead grey leaves with little decoration if I'm honest, but the image is small and colour may also be off. I would assume there is a prop is in her right hand which we cannot see
 
LE5000? Bad move. The face is like last years singing doll = meh, hoping it's better in person. Ariel should have lots of hair.

I like the style, inspired by the sea. Scales like clam shells, small shells dotted around the waist and dangling from her top and there will be no purple in her sea shells :P it will be golden hints, with yellowish green to go with the blue, purple accents of her fin and the starfish in her hair. I imagined something to be pearlescent but will have a better idea when more photos are released.

There's a space already waiting for her :lol:

Ariel is a favorite to many people, it's going to get crazy when ordering. There's going to be a lot of drama with scalpers getting their hands on the dolls instead of collectors.
 
OMG!!! She's gorgeous!!!! I hope we all can get her because I'm so SICK of people buying for profit only:/ I hope Disney learned from designer Ursula, that many people want the heavy version of her. I'm very curious to see the new set of designer dolls. I have to admit, if it's wedding attire, I won't be very excited about it:/
 
I would love for designer Ursula to have a flotsam and jetsam wrapped around her like they do in the film. Also, I totally want that Max plush;)
 
Since I'm still fairly new to this forum, where would I go to trade a couple of my designer dolls? I really want a limited edition Tiana.

Exactly, watch how many get listed on ebay. Merida was LE7000 so I was hoping she would at least be that.

I'm trying to work out if the scales are like clams or oysters. I should probably wait until more pictures are released this week, I'm sure she'll grow on me :)
 
The more I look at her the more I like her. She is very pretty. My favorite aspect is her tail. I love the shell belt and from what we can see her tail looks really well done. I can't wait to see more pictures. I really hope everyone who wants her gets her! I am really excited to see Ursula. Disney hopefully learned their lesson from the backlash of the Designer doll that people want Ursula as the big, bad sea witch she is. I hope she comes with Flotsam and Jetsam.
 
I just checked with the Disney store here in manhattan and they told me around July 29th for preorder, but I dunno for sure!
