2013 Fairytale Designer Collection
In all fairness I suppose I should disclose that I was not a fan of the Designer princesses at all. They looked like anorexic "couture" models, not Disney like at all. I love the original/classic Disney look. I guess I'm old fashioned. I did however think that some of the Designer Villains were gorgeous. I'm not a huge Alice in Wonderland fan, but I thought the Queen of Hearts looked amazing.

I don't hate the princesses. Not sure I love them either. But I don't know if these dolls will be worth the money.

1). I really dislike two dolls in one box. You can't view the dolls as well. This is one of the reasons why I think the Deluxe Elinor and Merida set has not done well. I'd rather just have the princesses in boxes like the last two sets where you can view them from all angles.

2). I don't like boy dolls, no offense boys! I've always thought boy dolls just don't come out looking right. There might be a few out there that I like but these fall into the "Ken" doll look that I don't care for. And even if they did look fantastic, I still don't collect princes or boys. So I don't want them.

so, I don't know if I want to get this set. They are not so well done that it compels me to get them.

I thought most of the princesses and the villains looked really nice. Queen of Hearts is stunning, but it does bother me that she was slimmed down (ditto with Ursula), and to top it off, she looked exactly like Barbie. I mean, I like the occasional collector Barbie, but not when it's supposed to be a Disney character (vs. Barbie as a Disney character).

I think the best quality ones in terms of the outfits were, overall, hands down the Villains. The varied fabrics, the detailing, the trims... I was very impressed. And I should have been at that price.

At the end of the day, I do not mind shelling out a decent chunk of change for a Disney collectible. Never have. But I expect it to meet a standard I find acceptable for the amount of money they are asking for. I had no problem spending $60 for each of the Princesses, and, while painful, I had no problem shelling out $80 for the Villains. All of them were worth the cost to me. So far, neither of these two sets fit the $130 a pop bill for me, not by a longshot.

Okay, so I love Ariel and Eric!!! :hsd:

Bless you for bringing this over!

She looks AMAZING. Thank goodness, as she is my favorite. Eric's face looks a little... small? Sort of like Aladdin.

All in all though, about a million times better than the other two sets. Getting this for sure! Although now I fear how difficult it may be to get it.

Ariel and Eric look so much better! Gonna get them :) Fingers crossed Rapunzel and Flynn look good!

Hm, while Ariel looks amazing (no surprise there), Eric is the funniest looking prince doll so far. It's weird because he's probably the best looking prince for a cartoon, so maybe I was expecting more. I feel like his eyes should be bigger and bluer and his hair should be darker.

However, she makes up for it, and let's be honest, the princes are just expensive accessories in this line anyway. I love her dress.

Still, as much as I love the leaked pix, I hope the final products are a lot better. The more I look at them and read people's opinions, the more I'm seeing how cheaply done they look. The should've put more work into the princes since they've already got the princesses down.

I know what you're saying about Eric. His eyes are too small. His head looks too small too compared to hers too (same issue I saw with Aladdin and Jasmine).

After those first two sets though, I really cannot complain. I actually think he looks by far the best of the men, partly because his clothes actually look decent and not cheap.

Now, to hope the remaining two sets and whatever they're releasing at D23 will be on par with this set.

I am going to wait and buy when they go on sale if I buy any at all - not getting suckered into paying full price like I did for the designer villains

Does it look like the princes' heads aren't as posable as the princesses'? The girls can tilt their heads at different angles, but it looks like the guys can only look from left to right, doesn't it? Maybe their necks are too thick for a ball joint, but I hope that's not the case.

Another benefit this pair has over the two previously leaked is they're posed better. They actually look like a happy couple. Aladdin and Jasmine look like they're giving each other evils and Snow White and her prince look like they were forced to be in the pic together.

Finally an Ariel pic! :)

I am glad she looks good because I was most excited for her (due to the unique outfit choice). Although I really hope her big blue hair bow is hiding behind her head...but it doesn't look like it. :( Eric's facial expression is a tad creepy and I'm not loving his shiny shirt fabric (which looks like the same fabric they used for Ariel's shirt)...but I will still probably get this set based on how Ariel turned out.

Based on the three couples that have been previewed so far, this collection is not exciting as I had hoped it would be...especially at the $130 price point. I am going to wait until I see actual pictures of these dolls in their boxes before I completely write them off (because I keep my dolls new-in-box)... so that will be the deciding factor for me.

When the Designer Princesses came out I remember not liking them upon first glance, and I wasn't planning on purchasing any of them. Then I just happened to go into a Disney Store when Designer Ariel came out, and they had all ten dolls on display and I was instantly sold. They looked SO much better in person and I was hooked and had to collect them all. So even though I am not digging the Snow White and Jasmine sets right now, that may change when I see them in person. But as of right now I am only going to be purchasing Ariel.

You're spot on Quasimodo, I think many of us might actually change our mind about Snow and Yasmin once the photo's come out that show them as actual couples. If they are being posed the way the litho's show them I think we might actually still be pleasantly surprised.

Have to say, now that a few days have passed, I do start to like the others more and more. I do like the richness of the colours a lot. Can't wait for full on pictures of all of them. :)

Totally loving this set. Thanks for posting @disneygirl333.

I hope when more info/pics are released, the Jasmine and Snow ones will look much better.

I really really want Ariel. She's beautiful. But I can't spend 130$ just for her. Because I really am not that much a fan of Eric.
