2013 Fairytale Designer Collection
I also notice that Snow's Prince looks like his face is inspired slightly by Josh Dallas from OUAT.

Makes sense... OUAT influences are perfectly logical! But I think he also resembles the late actor Richard Bowne, who played The Prince in Snow White Live at Radio City Music Hall back in 1979 (but not with blondish hair). I loved watching this musical when I was kid, well before the 1937 film became available on VHS...

Damn, I was looking at that video more closely, and they show the entire body mold of Beast. There's no prince underneath, lol. His paws are extended from his arms and legs, and his neck's extra long to hold the head. Other than that, his body's like the other princes. That's unfortunate. Just thought I'd mention it...

I hope I can snag these mugs!!!!!!! I would love a pin set and I HOPE I can get, Ariel/Eric, Rapunzel/Eugene and Jasmine/Aladdin ;) does anyone know, if they are doing the raffle system, like last year? Thankfully, these dates are early in my semester, besides Ariel/Eric because I'm going to have to miss class those days LOL!! Lord, these dolls are such an addiction!!!!

I really think that designer Mother Gothel, is going to fit right in with the Rapunzel/Eugene set;) I'm debating if I should sell my designer Rapunzel and put the money towards this one.....hmmm, decisions, decisions...... I have the Tonner Rapunzel, I decided to get her over the DS 17inch at the time because I liked the Tonner version better. Isn't this the same outfit as the 17 LE Rapunzel????

No, although there are structural similarities just because they're based off the same dress. The 17" dress is more movie color accurate, with a full corset bodice and lavender color; the overskirt is sheer and delicate and the sleeves are soft pleated with lace lining.

The new fairytale designer version looks like a dark purple velvet with stiff sleeves and heavy gold embroidery on the sleeves and skirt hem. The corset is more of a waist-cincher over a shiny white stain chemise that unfortunately creates a little foupa on top of the skirt. Also, because it is a reinterpretation of the lantern scene, her hair is braided.

Ok I have a question... We have the schedule for the dolls and everything , but what day do the mugs and pins come ??

I would assume the mugs will be released the same time as all the shirts, and stuff that goes to Disney Stores around the US.

As for the pins, they will either be released exclusively (and sell out) at D23, which means anybody not going to D23 is done for and has to fork over $1000s for them  or they'll show up randomly at DS.com when we least expect it and cause us all to go into a frenzy.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just watched the video by Disney Geek and in the beginning he says "we will be showing off all the merchandise that they will be selling AT D23." So the pins will ONLY be released there pretty much, unless they decide to differ it up.

That really sucks because I do like the pin set, but I'm not gonna pay the $1000 asking price or 50 grails that people are going to demand for the pin set :(

Possibly August 20, the day the Snow White set is released. If I remember correctly last year the first doll released was Maleficent and they put all the Designer merchandise out the day she was available. I could be very wrong though.

Uh, Matt I wouldn't freak out just yet with the pin set being a d23 exclusive. They also showed the little mermaid LE 17" dolls and those aren't exclusives and the dolls will only be available for pre-order at the expo.

According to Disney the collection will be available August 12th and the first doll (Snow White) will be available August 20th.

After looking at the pics more closely, I've decided that Ariel, Jasmine, and Snow just look like their normal Disney store versions plus eyelashes. Rapunzel it's a bit hard to tell. But Belle definitely looks different and way better, so she'd be the only one I want. If I could get her by herself, even nude.

I think that's how the original DP set went. The pin set was released at D23, but the dolls later online. Here it seems like with the bigger LE size for the dolls, they are releasing some at D23 as well...at least that's how I THINK it was released for the original line???

At the last expo, the dolls were on display and attendees could pre-order the entire set only (and then when doing so, receive the set of lithographs).

So, we had a Silver Cindy and now a Gold Snow...I wonder who gets to be the Platinum or Diamond Princess at the next expo? ;)

 Aurora!!!! (or Elsa!)

And from what I read, the collection extras (journals, mugs, shirts, bags) will be available online on August 12, in "select" stores on August 19

Ah, but at this one you can actually buy the dolls? Maybe it's due to the higher LE size.

That is actually a really good idea. I mean, for their films, they released them all in Silver Editions, then Gold Editions, then Platinum Editions, and now they are releasing the Diamond Edition for the next few years so it's very plausible.

Hmmm I must have missed that. Where did it say that? I was thinking it would be like last time...dolls on display, preorder sets available, most of the other DFDC merch available (mugs, journals, etc).

I'm not 100% sure, but in that video that they showed, in the begging, the guy said that he was about to show you all the merchandise that you can buy on the showfloor, before showing off the Designer pins, dolls, lithos, shirts, mugs, etc.

Im confused so is there another set of designer pins coming out at expo and aare they pre sold already ??
someone please help
