Ok, since DPF was down for the 3 or 4 days what would be the best thing to do with an auction?
My auction was supposed to end today, but I lost all the days so would I extend end day 4 days or..

:o

I would extend every auction by the number of days DPF was down (I think 4 days) since for every auction, not just your's, that's not really fair to the auctioneers or bidders.

Yeah, but you're also conflicting with Labor Day which people may be going away and unable to bid. Like children like to say, "do a do over" and restart again with a new end date that doesn't conflict with the holidays.

With the last outage, this is what the moderators had us do. I would say PM a moderator to let them know, then close the auction and start a new thread with a little disclaimer. I'm sure Lucan will make an announcement shortly.

Good luck! :wavey:

That is what Lucan had me do when the last major outage due to the move occurred.

I ran an auction once and the forum was having crashing problems. I couldn't get on and eventually forgot about posting a leaderboard before the auction was even over. A villainous mod, before he was a mod, bid on the auction, was not declared the winner since I never posted a leaderboard, and I asked the 3 people that bid if I could extend or redo. They all said "do what you want." so I re-did it. Boom, almost instantly sad villain gets the then-mods to slap a auction house infraction on me. Not sure you all are going to get any love from him, but then again, 4 days down may cause for a bit of hipocracy.

Mine was extended when there was an outage last time too. Just PM the mods; I'm sure they're on it, but they can't be expected to see every thread, so be sure to PM.

All auctions are being alllowed to be extended for the amount of time we lost server usage<ie 4 days,> so if your auction was scheduled to end during the outage , you can extend it, we the staff will be happy to change either title end time or closing time in the thread itself , just send any of us a pm and ask!!
Yes you may restart auctions however we ask that you notify all bidders prior to closing the auction, dont want pins mailed thinking they won, as well as insuring your previous thread was closed,

We appreciate your patience and understanding in these times, and hope you will continue to enjoy the DPF Forums auctions,,,
