Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
If anyone could get an extra of the Ariel doll I'd be forever grateful. I really want one for my girlfriend who's going through hard times right now- Elder

They won't be selling Ariel on the day anymore. The only way you would be able to get her is if someone else had bought a spare doll? Other than that only people that preordered Ariel will be able to get her on the day. Disney exhausted their stock of Ariel dolls when they released them for preorder. (With the exception of the Euro market which will be getting dolls released for sale on the day as they do not do preorders).

good luck though, hopefully you can find one for your friend at retail!

I just saw a list on eBay stating that they will have LE Eric and Ursula available for sale as well. How are sellers so confident that they will get the dolls? Or are they counting their chickens before they hatch? It's at times like this that I really do hope that everyone that wants these dolls and are genuine collectors are able to get one at retail on the release date.

Polaris: I think they are just counting their chickens before they hatch. They really don't have an advantage over us because we will stay up late or get up super early to go stand in line and wait. The seller/shark might also be trying to pick up more customers by saying that so more people will be watching his/her auctions. I had to result to buying from eBay for several of my dolls.....I do not wish to do so for Eric and Ursula because I am sure I will not be able to afford them if I have to. So let's hope well all get them :x:

Let The Madness Begin!!!

It took 2 weeks but the Snow White and Prince Charming Fairytale Collection doll is officially SOLD OUT on disneystore.com U.S.....:wavey:

A new DS opened near my work this week--and they had some Ariel dolls for presale. Shouldn't those have already been sold out? I find it odd that there was any stock left to go to a new store. Or is this part of some ploy to attract business to a new store?

I agree!! I hope the collectors that truly want the dolls are able to get them. The sharks truly drive me crazy, I've told my husband at times I wish Ebay didn't exist cause it sure would be a lot easier to get the things that I want lol

I wouldn't put it past the Disney Store to try some ploy to drum up more business. :p There also may have been online order cancellations since the online sell-out, which opens the opportunity for there to be an allocation of dolls to that site. Also, I am sure that even when DS.com "sells out" they still keep some stock back to deal with quality control complaints (re: 17" LE Cinderella's shoes-DS customer service often offered a doll swap first for reported dolls with stained shoes even though 17" LE Cinderella was technically sold out).

Oh yeah, I didn't even think about cancellations! I really wish I thought to ask how many they had for preorder. I was just so shocked to see they had it at all. They're also the only location that has any Rapunzel sets left in my city (Toronto, Canada) since they just opened today and most people don't even know it. The grand opening is this Saturday, after which all the LE merch will be gone, I'm sure.

I think its a combination of both. Some people are definitely counting their chickens before they hatch, but others have people that work at the Disney Stores that save things or tell them what they need to do in order to get what they want. I read that for the first designer collection some Disney Store cast members would save dolls for friends and family diminishing the amount for other people. They should have an opportunity to purchase the dolls too, but when you have dolls available and tell people that they are being saved when you have a couple left is very sad. Sadly, some of these friends were people that only wanted them to re-sell which infuriates me. It really deprives us genuine collectors who want to enjoy the doll. I really hope that everyone who truly wants a doll is able to get them before they sell out. I missed the Rapunzel 17 LE doll when she was released and have not been able to purchase her because of the outrageous prices. I understand that the value of the doll goes up if she is no longer available, but the madness of crazy prices will continue if people continue to pay them.

I'm posting this in both reads because we need your help!

I don't know if you guys collect Blu-Rays, but The Little Mermaid is coming to blu-ray in a month and people who have gotten their copies (review and UK) have reported an error in the movie. Here is the video showing the error.

Now, this has happened before. In the Lion King, the cloud that Simba chases is missing. Cinderella lacks all the detail and it looks terrible.
We, the blu-ray community need all the help and support that we can get! Maybe Disney will realize that there are people who actually care about the authenticity of the movie!

Please call and complain, but be civil as I've heard that many people have been calling and shouting. Here is their number: 1-800-723-4763

So will Disney Stores even be getting the Ariel doll or were they all sold out online? And that really sucks about the Blu Ray...an effect missing here or there was annoying but not terrible, but Ariel clearly singing something while no words coming out is just jarring <_<

The physical Disney stores did get dolls however they were also for preorder so I am assuming each store was given a certain number of units they could sell on preorder. People then went in store and preordered a doll, so on Oct 1 everyone that preordered a doll will receive their doll. However there will not be Ariel dolls available for sale at the actual store, only ones to be picked up for those that preordered.

The Ursula and Eric however are a different story they will be released on the day for sale so for those dolls it would be first come first serve.

I have to share! I finally got to put one of my 17" out on display!!!! I just moved to a new apartment not to long ago and the land owner said I could repaint if I wanted too! So I painted my office to the theme of "Brave"!!!! And it has been a slow process but now I have my Queen Elinor and Merida on display! And as soon as I finish doing all the decals and get my pictures up on the walls I can put out Merida!! So excited!

I NEED to see some pictures!

I love brave and I'm really interested in seeing what you've done to the room.

Considering that they just opened today I am surprised that they would send the Ariel dolls to the Eaton centre since they went on pre-order over a month ago but it at least gives the opportunity for people who may have not had the money then to get them now. I am happy to hear that this location got Rapunzels as I was worried that they might divert some of the stock from some of the other Disney stores to that location when it opened. Do you know how many dolls it got? I just hope with this new location it will spread out the number of people in the GTA and give everyone who wants the more popular dolls like Belle and Ariel the opportunity to get them as shipping costs to Canada are ridiculous.

Well the only way you will get Ariel is if you preordered her back in July so if you did then you can pretty much be assured to have at least one doll that day LOL. But I think if you go to the store early enough you should be able to get all three LEs plus the Designer Belle and beast. Mind you this issue will only happen in store which I am sort of glad is not happening online as the probability of the site crashing would increase due to more traffic.

So if you did not preorder her, can you not get Ariel at all? Not even online on Oct 1? The sold out preorder means all 6000 are gone? I was thinking they were holding back some to be released online on Oct. 1st but this is my first try at an LE doll so not sure how it works. Thanks all!

You can not buy ariel in stores on October 1st in the u.s Only to pick up the previous pre-orders. You can only purchase online and in stores in Europe on the 1st.

I was able to get the Ariel doll on preorder. I cant wait for her to arrive. I do have one question though to those that preordered. Did the charge hit your act yet? It hasn't on mine, so that makes me nervous. But I do have the confirmation email still

I preordered Ariel too - the charge will go through when she ships on Oct 1st :)

I wasn't expecting it to go on sale because although it was slow to sell, they didn't have a huge amount of them with the small limited number.
